I can't say enough how much I dont reccomend this shop. But…read moreif you must, hear me out. I went in to have a 6 pin lock master keyed with 1 of my keys. I paid 30 for it, left. And upon inspecting the box, I realized that the original keys were missing. So I went to return to the shop and let them know of the mistake, and upon arrival all was fine, until I mentioned I believe you kept my original keys and he frowned and said he did and gave them too me and left, I opened box and tried keys and noticed they didn't work. And I told him so, and he immediately got confrontational almost in anticipation of my query. Immediately and adamantly saying that's what you asked for, I told him, there must be a mistake I ordered for it to be master keyed to this key I have. And he would insist on arguing with me that I requested it to be rekeyed. And told me, I don't know the terminology because I'm not a locksmith. At no point was their even an attempt to bring up a solution. At one point he said something about their is no "him" only me. I got a bit confused there, but apparently once again, which gave me reason to believe maybe bad hearing or emotionally worked up and wasn't thinking logically but somehow he involved an imaginary 3rd party and tried to tell me that's what is said. I stopped and stood there to think for a moment and the man maybe in an attempt to antagonize me or maybe he felt threatened by me. Said, "were not gonna have a staring contest here, what do you want to do" I told him, im thinking. And then responded, I want the service I requested originally to be fulfilled. And he told me that is a seperate job (charge). And I stated, fine then I'll go elsewhere to get it done. And left, shortly after, almost immediately. I returned and asked. "Proffesionally and respectfully. May i Have your name? " And he replied I don't need to give you my name, at this point I'm going to call the cops because you've been disrespectful, you said you were going else where. I said at no point did I disrespect you, we had a difference in opinions and I choose to get work done else where at no point did I disrespect, have a good day friend. And I left. Because of my job, I'm required to go to locksmith regularly, and I have never have had such a bad experience before. I've been to this same location before and this is 1st time this man attended me. He is the problem. The customer service was horrendous, the man was extremely argumentive and emotional, im tempted to believe even scam service run on purpose or just genuinely ignorant and not willing to fix or even politely reason with me. I'm very agreeable, wouldn't have take much to have me pay twice if he had any social skills at all. The man claims to be the owner, has a black lab dog and a full black beard. If you absolutely have to go there, at the very least I reccomend don't do it when he is there. Very problematic individual, he has absolutely no emotional control. All other employees there have given me 10x better service then this guy. If the whole place can be avoided I definitely would. This is a man who will put his own weakness on you and make you pay for it. Be Warned.

Key fob go to Harry's Key Service on 117th. Specifically the 117th location does vehicle fobs,…read moreothers do not. They've got high tech machines that copy the key part flawlessly. They have several very kind and informative employees. It turns out, the key copying is only part of the trick for the key fobs, as (at least my) cars have a radio sensor on the ignition that checks if the fob part is approved (programmed). If the key part matches for my car, it'll turn radio on but won't kick ignition over unless the fob part is programmed. In my car's case this was a set of steps such as insert old key, turn on for some seconds, turn off, insert new key, turn on off several times, then it programs it in the car. The people at Henry's explained all of this to me made it very clear that I am welcome to Google and try and do the fob programming myself to save money, or they can try it, or they can order a fob that's more reliable than the flimsy Amazon fob, and if none of those work it'll take an actual dealership unfortunately to get the thing to program. And, they have TONS of key designs to get inexpensive copies of your house keys!

I put it on the back burner and had not reached back out to set up the time. I finally reached out and he still had my key and got the job done very quickly, even during Christmas time. Stopped in yesterday to get a semi-functioning auto key fob replaced. The tech took a look and…read morerummaged around a bit, then asked me for clarification of the problem. I told him and he suggested repairing, if he could. He took the fob apart on the counter and a part dropped out. Aha! He suggested a solder job might work and quoted me $20. I ok'ed that and he went to work. Several minutes later he came out with a functioning fob and the cost was $20 as he had quoted. Considering that a replacement fob would have cost me a couple of hundred dollars, this was an excellent option. Nice work!
