We had him install some Baldwin locks in doors where he need to drill new holes. We got locked out of our house and called a different company (Clark's). The Clark's technician came out and attempted to unlock multiple doors at our house with no success. The tech almost destroyed the wafers inside 3 of our locks so that we would have had to drill through the locks to get them open. After the technician tried several times with no success, we sent him away. We called ABC Lock and Jack answered. He asked me to send him a picture of the lock after I told him another company had attempted to help us with no luck. He said that he has seen our type of lock before and he would have no problem opening the door (the lock was from the 50's , a Schlage lock). So, we went and picked up a new Schlage set so he could install it when he arrived. He arrived and opened the lock in about 60 seconds (even after the previous company had virtually destroyed the wafers inside the lock). We had him install the new lock set and then put in a new lock in our sliding glass door. We will always recommend Jack and will be calling him to update the entire house with locks. He is an honest, kind person with true knowledge of his skill and experience. read more

I have had locksmiths before, but this company is exceptional. ABC lock and safe owner was kind, professional, quick, and also affordable. The owner was amazing, given there had to be some damage to the door getting the badly broken old lock out. I had had one other locksmith come out look at it and he had said that he couldn't do it, another locksmith said over the phone there would be damage given the lock, etc. ABC did minimal damage and added my doorknob assembly that I had purchased to replace the old broken one. BEWARE! Last week I made an appointment with Jack at 2pm but he never showed. When I called at 2:30 to find out if he was coming he said that he didn't remember that we had an appointment but that he "knew he had something to do but he couldn't remember what" and that he "was just sitting at his desk and would be right over". I am 1 mile from him and he showed ~ 30 min later. After only being here 5 minutes he'd received two phone calls and told both people that he had not forgotten about them but was on his way as they spoke. Also noteworthy: Jack was speaking very quickly, in a unnatural sort of way, and was doing a bad job of listening. After figuring out what I needed he told me that he charges a travel service fee of $75, plus labor, plus parts. He told me that he would call later that day with his return timing to finish the job and final cost. He knew I was leaving town after renting out the place and that the situation was urgent, but I never heard from him again! I decided to call another locksmith. (I was needing installation of three internal bedroom door locks and to have all three of my outdoor locks serviced. A pretty decent sized job...) read more

If you want a locksmith who is a true craftsman and loves what he does, Jack is your guy. He repaired and cleaned my "old school" Schlage locks and they work like new. I appreciate that he was able to repair the locks with parts from his vast vintage collection, rather than trashing them and installing new locks of lesser quality. That would have been easier for him, but since he is a person of integrity and honesty, he did the work necessary to preserve and protect the existing locks. We recently moved into a new house and had a 9 locks with a combination of five different keys. I called Jack and he was able to come out the next day and re-key all the locks and add a deadbolt to a door that didn't have one.
