No nonsense, very knowledgeable, and doesn't waste your time. Parking can be challenging, but don't let that stop you. There is also parking on the other side of the building, just be mindful of signage. The price was right and his service was outstanding. I highly recommend them. read more

So guess what I did? On the last full day of living at my current place, I lock myself out of my room. My landlords aren't the best of folks especially at picking up their phones so I looked for a local locksmith. These folks are not even five minutes away. I called right as they opened at 9am and within 15 minutes my door was unlocked and I was very happy with the service. He even discounted me for paying in cash. The owner was very friendly and very helpful and no damage to the lock or the door. Very satisfied with their business. read more

Pretty terrible customer service. Not honest, and practice bad business ethics. Overall a rating of 1 star is a fair assessment of this business and the people who run it. read more

Called and said they would be out in 20 min and never showed the whole day, left a VM on machine after an hour and no call back?

Can't say enough good things about this place. Friendly, fast service. We have old locks and he warned me that it would be $5 a key and that there's a locksmith on the west side that would cut the keys for $4 a piece, and I appreciated his honestly but decided it wasn't worth the $1 savings. He had a huge selection and was just pleasant to chat with. I would highly recommend them for any locksmith services you need! read more

This locksmith shop was amazing & very reasonably priced. One gentleman speaks Chinese & English & the other just English. Very friendly & efficient. The shop could use a cleaning & an organizer but oh well I'll definitely come back if I need these services again! I highly recommend them. read more

Very helpful with an unusual problem. Had to remove a locked gas cap, which had no key. Unfortunately, as I parked at their shop, the gas ran out and could not start. I was assisted by a very kind man that spent some good time trying to pick the lock and subsequently pulling the cap out. Charged a very low amount. They have a fully stocked key/lock store and do mobile assistance too. read more

I drove to the hardware store to have my new key duped, and while I was testing the copies, the ignition lock jammed again. Chris came out on his way home and hotwired the car so I could go home. He removed the lock and took it to his shop, where he gave it a good cleaning and reconditioning. He came by first thing the next morning and installed the lock, and gave me a couple extra copies of the key, too. Then he knocked fifteen bucks of the bill to make it more affordable for me. Well, I added that fifteen back in and shook his hand. Service like that deserves to be rewarded. Call me "very well satisfied." read more

Copied an obscure key from a 100-year-old lock and fixed my cargo van door handle and lock mechanism. Smart guys willing to work on the problem. Fair pricing. Good advice. Very helpful. Will return and would definitely recommend. read more

we needed our house re-keyed on a Sunday after my car was stolen with my house keys inside. Chris at 82nd Locksmith answered my call and came way earlier than he thought he would. He worked fast and did an excellent job. He even gave us a discount for paying with cash. But peace of mind is priceless. read more

Needed some new locks through out our home. Called to make an appointment and they were available first thing the next day. Micheal showed up on time and was very nice. He worked quickly and concisely. I highly recommend using 82nd Locksmith and would definitely use them again. read more

Excellent service, pleasant and knowledgeable! Came out and re-keyed a tricky sliding glass door with a strange gear system lock and left the entire thing operating much better then he found it! Service above and beyond! made my day and left me feeling secure! Thank you! Highly recommend! read more

I called these guys after another locksmith took too long to reply. I had lost the keys to our old truck and didn't know what to do. Not only were they professional, fast and well priced, they did a great job. In less than an hour, I had new keys to the truck and an explanation for one of our troublesome doors. Definitely a great automotive locksmith. read more

I had keys made here and then had a house call to re-key and change the locks. When I called to schedule the house call, they were available same day! My experience both times has been friendly, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend their services to anyone. read more

I've used 82nd Locksmith twice now in the last year and am extremely happy with their service and quality of workmanship. The have met or exceeded my expectations on various tasks and I find them to be very reliable and trustworthy. Installing hardware, re-keying 4 doors in my house and adding security kick striker plates in the door frames... all the doors close tight (as they should) and they look great (fixing the previous owners amateur work). Fair pricing and experience you can count on! I will call on them for any and all of my future locksmith needs. Highly recommended! Having piece of mind knowing your home is secure is priceless. read more

This place is in my old neighborhood, and kind of hidden in a weird little alley of off 82nd, on the north side of the FuBon shopping plaza. I stopped by to get a few key copies made instead of going to Fred Meyer or Home Depot. The copies were all $2 each. The place is small, unkempt, slightly dirty, but fascinating, as the back side is a ginormous pegboard wall full of thousands of different keys. There is a sign on the counter that lets you know it's run by one person, so you might need to wait. There were 3 people in front of me waiting, and it still only took 10 minutes for me to get my keys & get out. No frills & the little man who runs it has a business-only attitude, but still an ok spot if you're in the neighborhood & need keys. read more

Michael at 82nd helped me outfit my office with keyed locks at a fair price for what turned out to be a pretty complex job due to the nature of the existing door handles, 6 cylinder instead of the more common 5. Then he came in a flash when I locked myself out, due to those special classroom locks. I have a regular locksmith in this business now. Trustworthy and does good work. read more

This shop was recommended to us by our mechanic as the best place in Portland for lock and key issues. Brought in the back door lock from our 1996 Subaru. The locksmith made new keys for a reasonable price and put the lock back on the back door of the Subaru gratis. Our old keys were very threadbare. Surprise is that the side door now works, and you can open up the back door as well. Amazing! Highly recommended for efficient service. read more

I found myself in the unfortunate position of being locked out of my house. I was thankful that when I called 82nd Locksmith, they could arrive in about 15 minutes. Not only did he get me in the house and replaced my broken lock, he also repaired a couple of related issues with the door. I highly recommend them! read more

Came to get a copy of a key during business hours and they were randomly closed with the open sign on. I had even called before coming in.

This place saved me from grief. Had an emergency with a customers car in which a key broke in the door. It was a stainless steel blank that I gave them and they took care of it in 5 minutes. Many places won't even touch steel blanks. Only downside is that place is pretty messy and needs to be cleaned up read more

a great company and super friendly ! glad i did not pick the other guy - you guys were great to the ' New kid in town' ;P thx

Great service and reasonable prices. He gave us free advice when he could have sold us an additional product. There's easy parking too.

Needed help with a new lock and key for my front door and patio sliding glass door. Chris wouldn't even consider it. Didn't come out. asked me to send him pictures of the sliding glass door. Said he wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Nothing unusual about the door. In fact YELP reviews said that another employee of the company fixed one quite well. But Christ said I should call somebody else. Didn't address the front door issue at all. read more

These guys were great. Super friendly, helpful and the service was fast. I will recommend them to everyone I know.
