Since I'm blocked on fb and can't review, I'll just leave my experience here.
I took my 5 year old son in for the free trial lesson. He struggled during the class, but said he really enjoyed himself. I can't remember his name, but one of the coaches took us into a room to talk about membership. I had already signed him up for the summer camp after a lengthy talk with coach David. I was very upfront about my sons ADHD diagnosis and the behavioral issues that came with it. I repeatedly asked if they were sure they could manage him, because he would for sure need extra attention, and a lot of it. I wouldn't have signed up if they hadn't been so adamant that they would be able to handle my child. So I bought the 12 month membership because it included the GI (which they sell for something like $100) I also bought an extra rashguard for another $45 or something ridiculous. He wore the GI a total of TWO times, and it was washed between each one. During orientation for camp, David told stories about kids who came in needing all kinds of medication, but by the end of camp, they no longer needed it. Definitely got an anti-med vibe from his stories.
They were not able to manage him during class, so they canceled the membership (no problem). I was repeatedly assured he'd be better off in the summer camp, but they sent him home after 3 hours. I was refunded. I wasn't mad that they couldn't accommodate his needs, I was mad that they (specifically David and that guy who sold the membership) REPEATEDLY assured me that he would be just fine at the camp. This left me scrambling to find childcare for the summer. If they had just said they weren't sure or didn't think they could handle a disabled child, they should have just SAID SO so I could find other care. Instead, I missed a job interview I had the day he started class.
Everyone was very nice, don't get me wrong. But I'm now out the money for the GI (which says Metro on it, so not exactly re-sellable) and the rashguard (same issue, it says Metro on it). And when I tried to resolve this issue, this is how they handled it. They just blocked me from messaging, even though I had not been rude or swearing or anything. They just wanted to completely duck the issue, act like they did nothing wrong, and walk away. I was VERY clear about disclosing the specific issues my son was likely to have, multiple times, and was strongly reassured every time. They need to make this right, and refund my money for the GI and rashguard. I can't get back anything for the job interviews I missed because I had to scramble to find open spots for childcare during summer break, so it's the least they could do. I'm not even upset they couldn't handle him, I'm angry they lied, ignored me, blocked me, and refuse to refund me for 2 expensive, useless items I never would've needed to buy if they had just said they didn't have the resources or ability to accommodate him BEFORE I signed up, instead of having 2 people convince and reassure me they COULD, especially at the summer camp. read more
