You can exit or enter from a few points along Vermont Avenue & Santa Monica Blvd, just across from the ARCO ampm which neighbors The Vermont Hollywood.... If you go to Willowbrook & Vermont, next to LALC: Los Angeles City College you can board here as well. The platforms and inside the station are kept better than some stops, though the top half/street level varies. There is a unisex public restroom near the light that was installed a year or so ago, nice needed addition. I do hope they continue to make improvements. Kiosk available downstairs only. Elevators, stairs and escalators... Though the escalator up after I exited and ran into some friends was down so... We got out leg day in! Q Tip: No parking lot for this station, unfortunately, like a lot of stations for the B (Red) Line... So if you're super commuter Westlake/MacArthur Park or Universal Station are the closest with spaces.

The stop (B line, ex Red) is your typical LA stop, clean enough, cold decor, could be more seating, more comfortable seating, maybe a human working would be nice, some security. Otherwise, easy to use, straightforward stop that pops you right off Vermont, close to Normandie. I would place it in the middle in terms of safety and I would give it higher points for being in a decent location, helpful to use.

My wife and I had reason to use this as an exit during a weekday jaunt to K-town. The station was the one of the largest (and deepest) stations that we've visited. Because of the depth of the station, it had escalators in both directions, with each working on this day. It is over 75 feet below street level, with the lowest level platform being for Westbound trains and the middle level being for trains going Eastbound toward Union Station. It's also the last station before the B and D lines diverge (D going further into K-town and ultimately to UCLA in the future, and B continuing to Hollywood). It has the new full length plexiglass saloon style doors, installed sometime in 2025 (probably when the D line was shut down as part of the West line extension). LA Metro is rolling out their 'Tap-to-Exit' program across some of their stations. I thought it was meant to implement variable tolls, but reading that it's to increase security and non-payers. Also for the first time, Metro security came onboard at a stop, and requested that all passengers get their TAP cards ready for fare inspection...have not seen this before for folks REMAINING on the train at a stop.

The layout of the stop is unique like many others with bright lights and wide open space and designs reflecting the immediate area above with chrome beams, pillars, glass and constellation wall art. Lots of lush greenery as you make your way up or down for a return trip. One of the more upkept stations with easy to read maps of connecting services as well as caddy corner to a lot of surface city buses and connecting surfaces. I've been able to enjoy shows and events at the EL Cid, strut on down to Akbar, grab eats at Green Leaves and My Vegan Gold (a super favorite), get a check up at the hospital, hit up the local Vons as well as Bestie's (a plant-based health food and snack store) and even wait in line Vista Theater. Parking in the area is definitely a mission at times, but if you're going out for a day or night of EaHo/East Hollywood/Silver Lake/Los Feliz/Little Armenia excitement and a drink or more is on the to do list then absolutely put you faith in your walk and in your ride via the LA Red Line station of Vermont Avenue & Sunset Blvd

The elevator sometimes is down as are the escalators, but rarely at the same time and usually not for too long. You'll see LA Metro workers about more commonly here as this is a high foot traffic stop if you need any assistance. That cool down breeze coming up from the platform can be intense, but very welcome on warm weather days - hold onto your hats, caps and accessories. They have several kiosk for purchasing Metro Tap cards as well as reloading if you prefer a physical card, but you can also access and reload in the Metro Tap App which also lets you know when the next trains are arriving North West towards North Hollywood or East bound toward Hollywood /Vine Station and beyond. It's large and spacious compared to some other stations - very Hollywood and grand! Q Tip: There isn't parking for this metro location, but there is at North Hollywood as well as Universal Station.

It serves as one of the primary stations for Koreatown, and one I've used a multitude of times. There is a large open air plaza right above, making its entrance easy to recognize, but also serving as a magnet for vagrants. It is close to a variety of businesses (mostly Korean) that we frequent. It has served as the end of the very short D Line for a long time (and thus both sides of the platform has trains going to the same place), but will lose that title once the D Line extension (taking it all the way to UCLA) is done. The next segment will open in May 2026, going to Beverly Hills, then Century City, then finally to Westwood. One thing to note is I noticed the use of train cars with a different configuration that I'm used to on LA Metro. Instead of having seats facing forward/backward four across, this configuration has a lot more seats up against the wall, eliminating having to sit where someone could be right behind you. Learned that this is called 'New York-style' bench seating: there is a lot less sitting space, but more capacity for each car overall, with the majority of people standing. Definitely more useful for lines with more frequent stops contributing to shorter ride times.

The escalators are usually working here compared to others that can go down from time to time as well as the elevators. You can purchase a pass at one of several terminals for $1 and either add stored value ($.175 each way with transfers), daily (day pass) and/or monthly riding. Discounts for students, seniors and income based fares as well. No parking at this station directly, however definitely plenty of connections.
