So, I've been coming here 3+ years. There are new security guards; all but 1 are okay. The oldest, Hispanic guard is horrific! He told me: 1. I allow you to sit here. 2. He watched me go into the ladie's room then walked in on me. [I called the cops, they did nothing]. 3. Today he came into the lobby and placed his umbrella near my things. His I umbrella dripping water near my items. I asked him not to put his wet items near mine & he told me, go outside if you dont like it. I called the cops again. It's raining hard and with the doors open it starts to rain inside, soaking the floors; increasing the chance for bus & train patrons to slip & fall. His presence is not only insulting but an endangerement to others. I'm going to report it to CalOSHA. Pictures to follow.

This station has some really beautiful parts. The main building especially, but I truly enjoyed just sitting on a bench under the arches, so peaceful. The neighborhood seems industrial, but there's fun stuff to do nearby. I'd imagine on a weekday it would be a very busy transportation hub, but when I came by on the Saturday before Labor Day, there nearly empty .

As others have mentioned, yes this station can be a little confusing for the first timer. Not a lot of signs. The Amtrak and the Metrolink both come through here. So having just gone though the ordeal here are a few tips. If you're heading south to San Diego on the Pacific Surfliner you'll be on track 2, and as you're facing the track the train pulls up from your right and the Business class car will be on the tail end as the train is pulling up. The entrance to that business class car will stop right about in between the 2 train depot buildings. The cream adobe style buildings behind you. Lastly, the train flips around at Union Station, which is the next stop south. So if you get sick going backwards prepare yourself to change seats. Hope that helps! Happy travels. Oh, and once you get on, if you're business class on the Amtrak you'll be treated to a drink and some snacks

ALL ABOOOOOOARD! BACKGROUND: Originally known as the Glendale Southern Pacific Railroad Depot, it was built by the Southern Pacific Railroad in the Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival architectural styles in 1923. It had replaced the Atwater Tract Office dating from 1883. The city bought the depot from Southern Pacific in 1989 and acquired adjacent properties to create an intermodal center. Restoration of the historic building and the construction of other elements of the intermodal center cost approximately $6 million. STATS: Parking: Free 72 hour maximum Public phones Restrooms Bike lockers Electronic message boards EXPERIENCE: Traveling northward, as far as Ventura County or south to Union Station to San Diego, Amtrak is a neat path to go. Live near Glendale and want to avoid paying for parking at Union Station? This is a convenient station to leave your car or get dropped off. Typically a quiet station, parking is easy to find and only a short walkway to the platform. This adventurous train ride took me and The Crew to a little north for a day of mayhem, urban hiker style. From Union Station adjacent to Oxnard, this train stopped to pick up crew members along the way, Santa Barbara being our final destination on this ride. The box was parked and a few short steps from the platform. There is limited seating and the platform is fully exposed. So be prepared if it's raining. The upside to this platform is that there are only two directions trains come and go. The downside is, it's not clear which side travels north and which side travels south. Fortunately, I've departed from this station several times and know where to stand. It's important to know which platform to stand on because once a train arrives, if you're on the wrong one, there's nothing you can do about it, you're stuck on the wrong side. The train itself offers so many amenities, from snacks to beverages (adult and kid friendly), comfy seating, baggage store, bicycle storage (reservation required), and friendly staff. Several of us brought snacks to share. Traveling in the evening, after the sunshine has set, both parking and station are well lit and I always feel safe. #travelbytrain #amtrak #cityofglendale #santabarbara Review #14

Quiet station; nonexistent staffing. If you have questions you're at the wrong station. The lot allows for free Metrolink parking for 72h. If you don't want to pay to park at LAUS this might be your next best alternative. If you learn nothing else from this review, always remember: SOUTHBOUND TRAINS - CENTER PLATFORM - Track 2. These trains always travel backwards (they have to back into Union Station). NORTHBOUND TRAINS (the crossing lights will activate) - Track 1. METROLINK TRAINS stop closer to the buses and parking lot. AMTRAK TRAINS stop closer to the depot. Got it? Good. The depot is usually clean. Inside you'll find a model set of the station, old photos, vending machines, and restrooms. I wouldn't even wait in there unless you want to miss your train. There are no announcements. If you're a Metrolink rider surely you know to have them in your Twitter feed, right?

This is a great alternative to Union Station. There's short term 72 hour parking and regular parking. They also have a Clean 'N Green gas station. Whether you want to head down South to San Diego or up North to Camarillo or Santa Barbara, Amtrak will take you there. This station is quiet, clean with plenty of parking spaces. There's a security guard office. I've seen him around once in a while. I recommend purchasing your ticket online. This location has no ticket booth.

It's creepy at night here & security just sits in office. Would make for a beautiful wedding location at least that was the imaginary game I was playing in my head.. even down to where cocktail hour would be and where the ceremony would take place....in my head it looked amazing, all the while I'm waiting for my family to arrive from San Diego on the Amtrak. This is the closet and most convenient location to Atwater Village and allot easier then going to Union Station.

The only sign for southbound and northbound. But still there are two tracks. Where do you catch the southbound??!

Instead, she forced me to stretch my legs and strain myself to get on the bus. Then she said see I knew you could do it. I have severe mobility issues, a history of falling, and an access disable bus card. It doesn't matter to them. On several occasions this driver has watched me get up, once I do, the driver hits the brakes and I get slammed into the pole/handhold. Finally, 99% of the time this driver pulls up too far from the curb, loading & unloading. All drivers cater to the people taking the train in to Burbank then bussing it to their job. The drivers wait for said working class until 5 minutes passed takeoff time. But they won't wait for me. On several occasions they have left me even though I wave my hand for them to wait. Additionally, all but 1 driver pretend not to see me then at the last minute pull over, same for dropping me off, going past my stop. All of them ask me where I'm going but no one else. They also don't wait for me to sit down. And when I board the working class or non-disabled sit in the priority handicap seats; not offering me a seat & the driver says nothing either. Also, I've been asked to get off the back which is street level not curb level so their working class can load in the front. There are 2 passengers that continually harass me once I load by rubbing & touching themselves. Driver L told me last week that their passengers can do whatever they want to me as long as they say nothing; but one passenger did called me a terrorist. Driver J: has yelled at me, passed me by, stop 2 feet from the curb loading & unloading but not to anyone else. He refuses to let me sit after I tap my card. Driver C & L stop the bus at my stop then as soon as I stand, grab my bags, & start to walk up the aisle they put the bus in motion almost causing me to fall. I have called & called the switchboard but nothing happens but fallout. Why am I treated this way?
