This cute little bar with a rustic feel offers a very warm atmosphere and a hint of le France, packed full of Parisian images. There's also a ton of entertainment to be enjoyed here, especially for the musically inclined with a jazz open jam session on a Tuesday evening where the brave, foolhardy or just plain talented are free to join up with the resident band onstage, and an open mic sesh on a Wednesday for acoustic artists and songwriters.
It's a basement area with a warm atmosphere and enough space to dance. There are plenty of seating booths for comfy relaxation and the staff are very friendly indeed. The clientele itself are quite an arty bunch, from students to musicians and other creative types but the crowd certainly has a degree of sophistication. Wine is the order of the day here - there's a plethora to choose from and the damage begins at around £2.60 for a little glass or £9.95 for a house bottle. There are also some beers on offer, draughts and a varied range of bottles like Sabai and Tiger.
All in all a warm ambience and entertainment that's just a little bit different make Metro one of the standouts on Victoria Street. Do try it if you like to kick back with some quality tunes and a nice glass of something. read more
