I am deeply disappointed by the lack of ethical process and safeguards in the care of my father…read moreduring a life-and-death decision. Life-prolonging treatments were stopped and my father was placed on comfort-only care without a documented decision-making capacity evaluation, without documentation of his expressed wishes, and without an ethics consult, despite clear family disagreement. Critical decisions were made based solely on direction from his spouse (POA), even though no physician had formally documented that my father was incompetent to participate in his own care. At no point was there a structured attempt to ensure that this decision aligned with my father's wishes at the time, nor was there a neutral ethics review to guide the team through an extremely complex and emotionally charged situation. Instead, sedation was increased, antibiotics and fluids were stopped, and the course toward death was allowed to proceed without adequate procedural safeguards. This experience left our family feeling that the process prioritized expediency and avoidance of conflict over ethical diligence, transparency, and patient autonomy. Regardless of outcome, families deserve confidence that every appropriate step was taken to ensure decisions are made with, not merely for, the patient. I hope this facility reviews its end-of-life protocols to ensure that future families are not left questioning whether proper ethical standards were followed at the most critical moment of their loved one's life.

My mother broke her femur in a fall at her assisted living facility. The doctors and surgical team were awesome, but she was abruptly informed of her discharge shortly after the operation. I left to get her clothes, but when I returned, she was on the stretcher in her hospital gown with her rear end exposed, which was disrespectful to her. The discharging physician also prescribed TYLENOL for pain relief for her still technically broken femur that had just undergone an intense surgery. This drugstore medication seemed inappropriate and raised concerns about staff training and awareness of levels of necessary care. Bergan Hospital has positive qualities, but some staff definitely need better training to ensure proper patient care and dignity.

I worked in the med field for 42 years. It is pretty clear to me that the Admin at this hospital has a real focus on Care on not just on budget. I always felt looped into my wife's care. In our two visits to the Cath Lab both were positive experiences. Dr's Parekh and Thibideau were outstanding. I know good care and this visit gave it at every level. I made an informed decision to take my wife to Methodist Omaha and was not disappointed. I highly recommend this provider institution.

Customer service can not give you an actual physical and say that all correspondence must go to the same PO Box 2356. The main hospital address is 8303 Dodge Street Omaha, NE 68114-4199 but they will tell you that written communications can't be sent anywhere except the Remittance PO Box. That is hard to believe and is a prime example of waste by duplicating administrative staff as well as making patients write multiple checks for the same account, which by the way they will call you about mentioning the total due for all of the different invoices making it difficult to trust if they are legitimate or just another scam. Until you have a chance to find all the related separate bills arriving days apart. Telling us to sign up on bestcare.org is also a red flag since 3 out of 4 other medical sites / apps we have been tricked into signing up for locally have sent us notifications in 2024 and 2025 that their data systems had been hacked and our personal information had been stolen. This co-dependance on third party billing and data aps is dangerous. Great Experiences with Methodist in the past are being overshadowed by wasteful and likely intentionally divisive billing practices and third party codependency. Shame on administration for buying into the distract and deceptive business models of corporate medicine!

Bergan is a nice hospital with some great staff, but I do feel like they want to get people in and…read moreout as fast as possible, to the detriment of the patient sometimes. My mom had a broken femur (thigh bone) from a nasty fall at her assisted living facility. The surgeons, nurses, and medical staff that assisted in the operation to fix it and in the after-care for her post-op, were all very nice and attentive. The issue came in when suddenly she was told she's getting discharged suddenly soon after her operation. I ran to get her some clothing (as she had only been in hospital gowns at the hospital). But when I got back they had already loaded her on the stretcher with her rear end showing as they rolled her through the hallways past many people. Her dignity was not on the transport staff's mind at all. When she got back to the assisted living facility, the discharging doctor (who I never met) prescribed her TYLENOL for pain - for a broken femur! What in the absolute world?? So the hospital facility is nice, some of the staff is great, but there are definitely some training that needs to be done for the care and dignity of patients, from my experience with them.

I would like to simply state that this hospital was a horror show. Not only did they do a…read morehorrendous job caring for patients and would rather sit and gossip acting as if visitors wouldn't hear. They practiced horrible hygiene and showed lack of cleanliness without following proper procedures. They left my family member sitting in feces for days, they left bed pans filthy and reused the same ones. They would consistently look over feces in the trash, pee sitting in urinals for hours on end, and when they went to "rinse" bed pans left feces all over the floor, toilet, and walls for visitors to have to clean after being asked multiple times to come back because the small trauma hospital rooms always smelled of feces. I spent days watching over my family member and the entire time I noticed they couldn't care less to check in. The only way their patient was getting cared for is when they reached out themselves while in tremendous pain. Not only was there lack of proper procedures when it came to cleaning bodily fluids but quite of few of the nurses were awful.... Some of them seemed to not know how to place IV's properly, consistently pocking until they gave up leaving blood clots, bruises and rashes for them to finally call for another nurse to finish the job. I also heard one nurse yelling at another to "get off your phone there are patients to take care of". While over hearing this I heard multiple call lights going off around the counter from surrounding nurses. It's just horrifying to know these are the people we rely on and pay to take care of loved ones during traumatic accidents. Obviously they are to help maintain pain but the environment plays a huge role in recovery. Most ghetto hospital I've ever stepped foot into. Bergen mercy... begging for mercy if I were able to give negative stars I would because everyone needs to be aware of these issues before picking this hospital for procedures or recovery.

Nebraska Medicine - So happy. I asked them to use an ultrasound because I am very hard to get an IV in to and I feel they always listen.

So off I went to Nebraska Medicine Bellevue ER, wrist in pain and dignity slightly bruised. From check-in to cast, I was in and out in under two hours--yes, TWO hours. I've waited longer for brunch. The staff was incredibly professional, warm, and genuinely funny. We even shared a few laughs about my skating mishap (because hey, if you can't laugh at yourself while getting X-rays, when can you?). I got triaged, X-rayed, casted, and sent on my way with a smile--and a very stylish hard cast. The quality of care was top-notch--thorough, efficient, and delivered with kindness and humor. Every single person I encountered made me feel seen, heard, and well taken care of. I've never had such a smooth, friendly ER experience. Seriously impressed. Thank you to the whole team--you turned a painful twist into a surprisingly great experience. Well, as great as a broken wrist can be!

Those two times my wait was about 45 minutes to an hour. The rest of the time I was brought in right away. The staff and nurses are very nice, friendly, and do what they can to make you comfortable and at ease. I have a very complicated medical history 20 years long. The doctors take their time to listen and help as best as they can. I am very thankful to have such a great hospital within 10 minutes of my house. Now I will talk about why I love this hospital so much. I've seen a lot of the other peoples reviews and let me tell you the wait here, even if it's three hours is not too bad. I had to wait at n different hospitals in Southern California for 6-18 hours. Most of the hospitals in Southern California have wait times with a minimum of five hours. Urgent care was usually the same too. That is the reason I am very thankful for this hospital.
