I think I've spent 4months or so total time admitted to the place. Maybe more. 99% of the time I get spectacular service and treatment from amazing doctors. Have only had 1 absolute terrible experience with the ultra sound department. That catastrophe alone is why I took a star away. Several cafes, gift shops, cafeterias, and little bodega-type shops are around the entire hospital. Free valet parking. Amazing people. Beautiful artwork and one beyond-awesome garden area full of blown glass art. Going to the hospital to see that area is worth a trip, even if you don't 'need' to be in the hospital. I live in South Sioux City, NE; two hours away. And I have incredibly easy access to health care in my town and Sioux City, IA. But, I come down to Omaha for my major health needs. That's how good this place is. I'm thankful for the doctors here that literally have saved my life. More than once.

The doctor was excellent, describing the treatment options in detail and asking for my input. He provided full notes and I could also access everything in the UNMC MyChart app later. The facility is bright, clean, and modern -- it doesn't feel clinical or cold, which really helped ease my usual anxiety. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and clearly great at what they do. Scheduling was super simple, and I was able to get in without a long wait, which is such a rare win these days. While I was there, communication was clear and consistent, and I never felt rushed or brushed off. Dr. Diamond really listened. I've been trying to get to the bottom of some ongoing health concerns, and for the first time in a long time, I left an appointment feeling hopeful. They had a really cool vertical xray machine and it didn't take long to get in after I called. This clinic is close to my home so I have used it for years. It has been one of the most poorly…read moremanaged operations I have ever encountered. Prescriptions are not called in to the pharmacy. Paperwork is messed up. My brother's insurance claim was not filed in a timely manner just as his policy was switched to a new company, so he got stuck with a bill his old company should have paid, etc.
