We hired Enventys to help develop a product and paid a $4,500 project deposit, followed by an additional $1,300 payment. We went into the relationship believing we were hiring an experienced team that could help guide our product through development and eventually toward manufacturing.
Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
As a graphic designer, I ended up doing the overwhelming majority of the substantive work myself, including the product designs, technical drawings, patterns, branding, logos, and other foundational materials. This isn't just my characterization after the fact. During the project, our Enventys project manager acknowledged in writing that we had done the design, concept modeling, patterning and branding ourselves and that this allowed them to skip significant portions of their normal development process.
What we received from Enventys was very limited by comparison. There were two meetings, project communication, review of materials I had created, and work toward tech packs that were never completed. I eventually asked them to stop working on the tech packs because I was extremely concerned about how quickly we were being billed relative to what we were receiving.
In July 2025, I ended the relationship and requested the return of our $4,500 deposit. The next day, our project manager responded in writing: "As for the deposit, I will check with accounting on the status of the program next week and let you know when you can expect it to be returned."
Based on that response, I believed the deposit was being returned and that the only issue was how long accounting would take to process it.
I waited. And waited.
I followed up repeatedly over the following months. Eventually, after more than eight months, Enventys sent us only $1,792.50 of the $4,500 deposit and called it a "Deposit Balance Refund." They retained the remaining $2,707.50.
I disputed this immediately. I have continued trying to resolve the matter directly, but Enventys has maintained its position and has now stopped responding to me.
To be clear, I am not even asking Enventys to return the additional $1,300 we paid them. I believe that amount is more than sufficient compensation for the limited work Enventys actually performed on our project. I am simply asking them to honor what I reasonably understood their representative to mean when he told me they would let me know when I could expect our deposit "to be returned."
Enventys has referred to "completed work" and contractual "deliverables" in defending its position. I would welcome the opportunity to see the actual completed deliverables that Enventys believes justify retaining more than $4,000 of the $5,800 we paid them. The overwhelming majority of the completed product-development work in my possession is work that I created myself.
I tried for a very long time to handle this privately and amicably. I gave Enventys numerous opportunities to resolve it, including months of patience while I believed our refund was simply working its way through accounting. I did not want to leave a negative review. But after more than a year of attempting to resolve this and still being out $2,707.50 of our deposit, I believe prospective clients deserve to hear our experience before deciding whether to make a significant financial investment with this company.
If Enventys returns the remainder of our deposit, I will gladly update this review to reflect that the matter was resolved.
