My daughters just finished dance camp this week and it was the most fun week of their little lives. Mrs. Tracey and Mrs. Michelle go all out in making sure the dancers and campers have an amazing time. But truly, it's the recital that steals my heart every year! It's so rewarding to see your kids hard work pay off in the end. - Highly recommend this dance studio!

I have attended a year end dance recital with ages from toddlers to teenagers and was impressed (along with many other parents/families). Their care and showmanship convinced me when my daughter said: "daddy I want to dance on that stage"... that's all a parent needs to hear to know that your child enjoys what they do and how they help the kids reach that goal. The staff is always informative, the facility is clean, they have basic coffee, cakes, and refreshments for sale while you wait in the lobby, and while you wait in the lobby... you can watch your child's classes on large screen TV's from the cameras they have mounted in the room. Personally, I think this is the best way to help parents monitor the kids and isolate the instruction. You can see that the kids are NOT distracted by observing parents and you can silently smile knowing that they are getting personalized instruction. In my daughters group there are boy dancers as well, and as you know, boys play like boys; the instructors handled all situations well and kept the whole class of 10-13 students on time and focused with instruction. Our daughter is attending the Jazz/Tap/Ballet and the program really does develop her skills in dance, understanding of the dance, and allows her to just be a kid to overcome stage fright or show nerves. I am not sure how long we will attend "The Dance Works", but we will as long as our daughter wants us to bring her there.

My 3 year old daughter is currently enrolled in the one hour weekly tap/ballet class for 3-5 year…read moreolds. We first came to this location for music classes through Tunebugz, and now we are coming for dance. Upon beginning dance, my daughter was a little apprehensive and she vascillated between loving dance one week and hating out the next. This was primarily attributed to her being a sometimes shy 3 year old. Over time, with the help of her instructors, she has grown to love coming. The instructors are both skilled and upbeat. The kids love them. They pace the class well and it appears that they have good class structure/thought out lesson plan. Looking in at other older classes, there seems to be some truly skilled dancers here. The studio is very clean and nicely updated. We pay just over $80 per month for my daughter. The lady that runs the front desk is super sweet and incredibly helpful when you have questions. All of the older girls that dance there seem to be very polite and none of them run over the little ones when things get busy in the hall after class. They all seem to watch out for the littles. The parking is sufficient and they have lockers for some of the older girls. That said, there are just a couple of small things to be aware of, if you choose this class. The particular dance studio that they use for this specific class is in the middle of their facility where there is just not much seating and the hall narrows. Since these are the youngest dancers, many parents want to be near the window and/or door. Many of us sit on the floor in the hall and its tight for all of the people that do. Personally, I enjoy watching, but more importantly I want to keep an eye on the door for safety reasons (my child is 3 and if she leaves the room to come get me to potty, I don't even want to chance her heading the wrong direction when there are 2 exterior doors or worse, her being intercepted by the wrong person. I tend to be extra cautious, so this may not bother some parents. If you sit in the lobby, there are plenty of seats, but you can't see that studio's door from most of them. They should probably consider switching studios for the youngest dancers and put the older kids in the center studios. The only other thing to be aware of is that the center can get pretty warm. The front has a lot of windows and, being Texas, the Sun can really blast them. So dress appropriately if the weather is hot and sunny. Overall, we really like this place and would certainly recommend this center.

The studio is well organized, and they maintain a culture of supportiveness, encouragement, inclusion and kindness, which is so important for youngsters when learning how to do anything but especially any performance art. You can see everything from the outside, and I'll be honest, I felt a little awkward knowing people could watch us. Once inside, I noticed several couples dancing with different instructors and had a moment of nervousness, wondering if there would be enough space for us. Then we met our instructor, Johnny, and all of that disappeared. He is an absolute delight. From the start, he made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and completely at ease. I quickly forgot about the windows and the other dancers. We had plenty of room, and that's entirely thanks to how Johnny guided the lesson. Even though we were doing a shorter intro session, he managed to teach us all the basics to the song we chose. Somehow, it felt incredibly intimate and personal, even in such a large, open space. We had so much fun that we've decided to continue our lessons. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for an inclusive, welcoming place with truly wonderful instructors.

Over the course of my journey here, I've not only learned how to dance with more skill and grace, but I've also found a community filled with joy, encouragement, and laughter. None of my friends are dancers, but our instructor Kim did a great job breaking down all the choreography for us to learn. It seemed like she was able to read the room and adjust the choreo accordingly. There was no judgement at all, and she emphasized that having fun is what's important. I liked that there were an assortment of songs and styles on the Selection List for me to choose from. Knowing my friends, I was looking for something not-too-sexy and found it with Justin Bieber's Sorry. (But if I DID want something sexy, there were plenty of choices for that too -- lots of Beyonce and Britney with a smattering of hot, new songs.) Arranging the party was a breeze. DivaDance was very responsive to my emails, and they were easy to work with.

We love Sarah and all of the couple of subs we have had have been amazing! I love how they keep us informed and communicate everything with us. We always know if there will be a sub, if anything special is coming up and Sally responds to emails almost instantly. At Christmas time they did a tea party for the littles where the bugs put on a little nutcracker performance and did crafts with the kids. I cried y'all, cried. I can't believe it's come to this for me to finally come rave about them but here I sit, stuck and isolated during the covid 19 pandemic where everything is closed. Within days Sally and her team had a plan, we received a link to online classes. I was so impressed they were able to implement such a program and so quickly especially for such a large studio. So yes, I was immediately thankful but then completely blown away by what Miss Sarah did for us. She personalized it for our class using their names and interacting throughout the video. Again, I cried y'all. Not only is this a great studio these women are incredible, incredible y'all. They aren't just teachers and Sally isn't just an owner these women love our kids and their jobs, they seem to go above and beyond in every aspect. So the answer is yes, yes I would recommend GADA! Yes we will be returning (when we ever get to lol) and yes we will stay for as long as we dance.

Tony was incredibly rude toward me when I attended my first dance session with him. The other students were more helpful and polite than the instructor himself. I'm not the most coordinated person. I'll admit that and appreciate any person's patience when teaching me a sport or activity that requires a decent amount of coordination. I believe I was learning Polka or foxtrot at his class, but I was struggling with getting the coordination down since I was a first-timer. Tony was going about making sure that the students were on the right track. He looked frustrated that I wasn't getting it, and finally started to berate me. He asked me: "Why don't you understand how to do it correctly? Can you not understand English?" I was stunned and furious to say the least. He wrote me off as a foreigner unable to understand English based on looks instead of being patient like a teacher should be. I'm a native English speaker and was born in the US, unlike him, but saying something hurtful so casually like that wouldn't be acceptable even if the person wasn't a native English speaker. I've heard that South America had horrendous racial tensions, so I could see that Tony brought its racism with him when he came to the United States. If you're not an Anglo or Hispanic person, and don't have any experience with dancing, then expect Tony to say something rude when you don't understand his dance lessons on your first try. I excused myself and went to cry in the bathroom for a few minutes for the poor treatment. Then discreetly left the building. Lo and behold, the man had the gall to follow me to my car! He even positioned himself so that I couldn't slam my door without hitting him. He started advertising his other classes, and gave half-hearted encouragement since I was a beginner. As far as I'm concerned, the "encouragement" was too little to late when he burned a bridge by criticizing my English listening skills. I won't try learning how to dance again thanks to this man even if it's for my own wedding.

He is very detailed in explaining how to do the moves in the most efficient way, starting from the very basics. The Sunday class where he teaches salsa, swing and country two step and Argentine tango is so much fun! I also like the Wednesday Batchata and Kizomba class. One of the best parts is when we go out dancing after class as a group to practice. I feel much more confident when I go out dancing then when I did before I started. I appreciate that Tony is patient and kind with all the students, no matter their dance level. Sometimes the more difficult or advanced moves take a lot of repetition, but he never makes us feel rushed. I have learned a lot in class -- even more than just dancing! And I recommend Tony's classes to anyone with an interest in learning partner dance.
