Sam (I think he's the owner) lacks not only craftsmanship, but integrity and respect. My wife dropped off a purse to have the handle remade. They were supposed to call her back to let her know whether they could fix it or not with the estimate. Never called back. She had to keep calling and they gave her the same "we'll call you back" answer. After weeks of that, they finally gave her an estimate of $100 for a 12 inch handle. We should have just picked up the bag at that point, but my wife really wanted the handle. Then, it repeated again... no call back. They finally called saying it was ready and when she went to pick it up, it wasn't ready. Not sure if they just got confused or what. Like several others pointed out, they seem to lack organization. Today, she went to pick up the bag and she wasn't happy with the result. For $100 and after a full month, Sam presented a flat, thin handle with uneven stiches. When she said she's not really happy with it, he went on to yell at her saying what do you know about craftsman, about quality, etc. and snatched the bag from her hand and went to the back. The woman at the front desk was not any better. Just stood there. After my wife asked what is going on, they told her they wouldn't give the bag back unless she pays for the handle. Unbelievable. So, she paid and came home. I called and asked for Sam. Upon identifying myself, he hung up. I called again, this time the woman at the front desk hung up. So, I went to the store. I wanted him to apologize to my wife and get the refund. Needless to say, he refused to apologize and continued to yell "What do you know about quality?" and proceeded to yell "Get the hell out of my store." So here I am. I brought in some old (and I mean OLD) gnarly boots that I am simply too attached to to get rid of. I found them at a resale store in Scotland, and have been in love ever since! They were rough when I bought them for 3 pounds, with heels almost completely worn off. After even more wear by yours truly, I stopped wearing them because I didn't want them to become too far gone. Messinas took my favorite old boots and treated them with such care. They even revived the what-used-to-be-suede as much as they could! I took my over the knee Louboutin boots there to be serviced. When I arrive to pick them up on the day, I was told they would be ready, they were not ready and had not been touched in three weeks. When I came back the next day, I was only given one Louboutin dust bag back. I confirmed with the gentleman there that there were two and that he would find it and call me. I called three times the following week without a return phone call. The woman behind the counter is incredibly rude and makes excuses versus being accountable. The owner, Justin does not value customers and did not even try to resolve the problem and in fact, basically called me a liar saying there was only one dust bag. I took the liberty of reaching out to Christian Louboutin regarding my boot style. They confirmed that my style boot includes 2 dust bags and provided evidence to them. I had been burned by a previous attempt at getting some work done on some boots, so when I needed some work done I was seeking out a new place to go! My husband remembered there being Messina's on Main street so we went ahead and gave them a shot to have some lace hooks taken off a pair of my boots and replaced with regular lace holes. Price was reasonable enough, but plan on your boots being kept for a few weeks due to the amount of jobs that they get & with them being a family owned business. My boots had been given a date to be done on a Friday about 3 weeks out. So, keep that in mind if you need something done by a certain date. As well, I would suggest calling before heading out on the date given. I came by on the date given and unfortunately they said they were not ready yet. I had been told they should be ready by Tuesday but to call before driving up. Which they ended up being done by that Tuesday! So about 4 days behind the estimated date but not bad. read more

The best, popular shoe repair in town. This has always been the best shoe repair shop to have your shoes, stiletto, boots, etc. to have put some protection to preserve it from wearing off. I had my Gucci shoes put sole guards to it and they did an amazing job for not ruining the design but at the same time getting that solid protection to preserving it for years. It took 5 days to wait, staff are friendly and helpful, and they sell a lot of great products, especially for leather treatments. Definitely worth the price and they are definitely experienced with expensive shoes. This is the only place that I trust to have my shoes repaired to. read more

I wore my favorite UNT boots to every football and basketball game for an entire year with them too tight, causing blisters and feeling all kinds of uncomfortable. I kept saying I needed to get them stretched but didn't want to stop wearing them during sports season. The foot area was tight and the shaft area was squeezing my calves. I even took a pair of scissors to my beautiful $250 boots and snipped a slit in the back to try to make the shaft have more give. I instantly regretted it but wore them that way until football season ended. I have had heels replaced at Messina's before and I know they have a good reputation plus they are locally owned and operated. I brought my boots in a few day's before Thanksgiving and was told they'd be ready a few days after the holiday. No worries since football season is over and the basketball games are away for a while. At drop off I told them I wanted my boots stretched in the foot area and the shaft, then embarrassingly turned my boots around to show the slit I made. I was told it could be fixed so I felt a little better. $25 for the job, paid in advance, and I went about my business. When the day came to pick them up I showed up about an hour before closing time. There were my sweet babies, lined up with all the other repaired shoes, ready to go. The boots have been stretched so I won't get blisters and can wear them comfortably. The back slit that I made on the shaft was transformed into a perfect "V", sewn to look like it's been there all along (see pic). I'm very pleased. Go Mean Green! read more

This review is about belt repair rather than boots. I needed three belts resized. I needed them to be smaller and was especially concerned with the ranger belt and how it would look with the restitching of the small tongue. Messina's did a great job in just a week. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I'll be needing some new soles for my boots next year and will bring my business to Messina's.
