I ordered a lot different stuff, some were truly amazing and one was so badly burned that I had to send it back. We basically had the entire spectrum of taste and quality. The ceviche was very good, but I ordered the prawn ceviche and got the fish ceviche. No biggie since it vas delicious. Eggplant fries with chocolate sauce, beautiful, brilliant and innovative. 5/5 My pulled pork was burned so bad, tried to remove the burnt parts but it was uneatable. The Provoleta was a mixed experience, tomato version was a big hit, the pin apple version a disappointment. Great enthusiasm even though the orders were mixed up. Hard to decide between a 3 star or a 4 star rating.

But the system actually suggested this restaurant as it did have availability. So we go there for lunch on our vacation in Barcelona and we were the first people there. The decor is typical Mexican restaurant with the taco stand style kitchen and some small tables on typical Mexican style. The service was good and friendly, the menu is tapas style. I have to say the margaritas were some of the best I have had. Even in Mexico they weren't that good. We did order some different dishes: ceviche, cochinita Pibil, guacamole, tostadas de atún Like I said everything was very good but nothing impressive. Good enough I would say...

The ambiance is energetic with great friendly service. This is what we ate: *Montjoy margarita - very good tequila, love the amount of salt on the rim, tasty. You will receive complimentary olives and toasted nuts that are yummy. *Baby mangoes on ice. Fresh and sweet. Where or how do you get baby mangoes? Simply delicious. *Guacamole and chips - the best guacamole I have ever tasted. So delicious and a beautiful presentation. The chips are hand made, crispy and perfectly salted. You may need to order more chips. Feel free to use your finger to get all of guacamole from the bowl as I did. Like eating poi out of the bowl. *Pizza Caesar - one of the specials for the night. A delicious and creative take on a Caesar salad on a tostada. Deliciouso! Love flavor profile and texture. Crispy tostada, finely chopped lettuce and flavorful cheese. *Fish taco - nicely composed and prepared. The sea bass fish is cut in cubes and is very tender, moist. Deliciouso! Another round please. *Chicken enchilada- divine! Love the heat! Nice and spicy green sauce. *Sea urchin - fresh! A bite of the ocean.

I especially enjoyed the salmorejo (a similar dish to gazpacho) and the shrimp paella. Both were superb. The rice had a lot of taste, the taste of the shrimp was really upfront, truly enjoyable. The restaurant is beautiful, intimate and elegant. The service very knowledgeable and friendly. Nectari is a hidden gem, a place were food departs from tradition, but that is wisely enhanced with interesting product combinations, and not superfluous games of gastronomic experiments. I will keep going every time I am in Barcelona.

The drinks took over 15 minutes to get to the table even though there was barely any movement in the place; they were good but nothing I couldn't get from a random restaurant. Now for the bad part, the food; my brother ordered a medium steak and it came rare (it also had a piece of plastic inside it), the appetizers (calamari and garlic prawns) both had barely any flavor or salt in them very bland and rubbery. This is a great place for a date to get a drink, but will not be coming here again for the food. P.S the only reason this restaurant is getting two stars is because of the outstanding customer service by our waiter Alejandro.

My favorites were the fried squash blossom with pickled bonito, the aubergine and cuttlefish in Catalan green curry, the picanha and chanterelle mushrooms, and the watermelon and yogurt. 1 star off: Service was very cold. There were two women serving the dining room, and both had a snobbish demeanor. Every time we asked for more drinks, more water, more bread, etc., we felt like we were inconveniencing them. We never got most of the things we asked for, even after repeated requests. They would say, "I have not forgotten" but then off they go somewhere else.
