There was a lot of flies at the truck with Santa in it which everyone wanted to take photos in so that was a bit gross but short of that it was a very enjoyable experience. My two year old went on their little train ride which was hilarious since she wasn't expecting that and I'm not sure I was either lol. She came back white knuckled and happy so it was fine. Lots of smoke from the fire pit made it hard to really smell any of the trees. It does add a nice touch to the place though and keeps folks warm which is a plus on these cooler December days. Prices on trees were quite fair (they are precut only this and possibly next year for many they have but still worth purchasing) and the one we got was perfect though they didn't trim the bottom as I asked them to do so we had to do that at home which was not anticipated but we got it done. I look forward to coming here next year. I usually go to Calloways and I wanted to find a local smaller, less commercial place to get my trees from and this one fits the bill. Next time I will be asking that they secure our tree since 380 is a nightmare when it's not gridlock traffic and you're trying to go 50mph down a windy road lol.

Ruby Creek Family Farm was the perfect spot. It was only a 20 minute drive from north Fort Worth. You have to sign a waiver at the entrance. For admission, it's $12 per person. Free for 24 months and younger. They take either cash or card. No wait line to get in on a Sunday afternoon for us. The parking is free, and they have a huge lot. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the farm. I love that everything was spaced out from the photo-op areas to the play structures. Let's just say I had a great time making the entire family take cute photos with pumpkins. My son had a blast going up and down the slide. He also enjoyed running on the large jump pad. The live music in the background really set the mood. We didn't pay extra for the hayride. If the kiddos had more stamina, we would have stayed a little longer to look at the farm animals and checkout the food. Overall, we had a great time. Beautiful fall photos were captured, and precious memories were made.

Upon entry, youngsters are given a small amount of food to feed and can feed and learn about these gentle creatures. There are a few interactive attractions, a play structure, slides, sandbox, basketball, tic-tac-toe tables, etc. The farm also offers picnic areas, refreshments, and shaded seating; it's quite comfortable. I went with my 5-year-old, and besides the animals, he was bored quickly. I think the sweet spot is the toddler/ kid under 4 years of age or recommend bringing friends to play games with and run around safely. The staff is SO friendly; plenty of effort goes into the kids with bubble guns and Yea-haw's - they were great fun. Recommend giving a visit with a group or young families, they also do birthday party's and have a covered barn as a party option.
