I had a really great experience at Merry Mart, especially considering how busy it was with school starting next week. A special thank you to Jasper, Gianna, and Jayden. Each of them helped me at different points during my visit, and all three were fantastic. Jasper saw me wandering around the store looking completely lost and confused and proactively came over to offer help. It was exactly what I needed. He walked me through everything and made it incredibly easy to find what I was looking for. Gianna helped me find some clothing and didn't just point me in the right direction. She actually walked me over and made sure I found what I needed. Then, after I realized I'd made a mistake and needed to come back for a return, Jayden was super helpful and made that process easy too. What really stood out to me was the consistency. Everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, well-trained, and genuinely seemed to care about helping customers. The store was understandably a little chaotic with the back-to-school rush, and quite a few clothes weren't where they belonged. But it certainly wasn't for a lack of effort. Employees were constantly moving around, folding clothes, organizing things, and trying to keep up with what was clearly a very busy time. The store itself could probably use a little updating, but the service more than made up for it. Five stars from me. Going to Merry Mart is like going back in time 30 years. Maybe all uniform shops are like this. I don't know why I can't just order uniform online and try on at home like every other store these days. Ok, once I get pass how old school it is (and I do generally like old things)...this was not old in a way that I found charming. The place was staffed by kids who were not knowledgeable or helpful. It's basically self service, but in no way intuitive. We spent way more time at the store than we needed to. We got wrong info from the student workers that resulted in multiple phone calls to correct orders and we will probably have to make another hour long drive back to get the order corrected. Maybe it is out of Merry Mart's control, but I had hoped that for the price the uniforms would be of MUCH higher quality or at least equivalent to standard fare you can get from landsend or vineyard vines. The items were very poorly cut and many of the bottoms felt like sandpaper. Why don't they have fabrics that stretch and more durable for young kids? Don't get me started on the ordering process from their old school website. There was wrong and missing info/options. Non intuitive design. Can't they just have one of the kids use Claude to make a better site? Kids are so smart and good with tech these days. I had to call the store and wait for a more knowledgeable adult to call me back. That person placed the blame for the experience on the school. Their customer service is nonexistent! I ordered an item 3 months ago and it's been back ordered with no status updates. Nobody answers emails and when I called to follow up I'm placed on hold for a long time to not get any answers because they have no way of knowing why my order was not shipped. I told them to just refund my money and then I'm on hold again to check how they can issue a refund. I'm so frustrated that they basically stole my money! How do these people even do business? They seem to have all the private schools; however, I only needed one. All of the items I wanted were in stock. Super helpful and excellent manners. It was recommended to me to get the uniforms in early summer, before the school year begins. As I was informed, lines are long when the last-minute shoppers come through. They also have 20% off sales, which your school should know about (at least mine did). read more

I have been here a few times and had no issues getting what we circled on the paper. The 1st visit was a little confusing but they have a system to select the items you want and then go to the back table to pick up your stuff. After that you head to check out. I've never waited in line longer than one or two people ahead of me. Most of the one star reviews look like when the place was closed during Covid. We didn't need uniforms then but I imagine it wasn't as easy to breeze through there as it is today. read more

My husband, son and I arrived on a weekday when we knew it wouldn't be busy. We located the table where they have information about uniform requirements which are organized alphabetically by school name. We found the section for our son's school uniforms and selected the items we needed. We came months before he started school because we had a 20% coupon. There is a large dressing room area and couches where you can sit while your kids try on their clothes. We ended up purchasing: one fleece jacket five pairs of shorts three pairs of pants five polo shirts two physical education t-shirts two physical education nylon shorts The total with tax would have been close to $400 but with our coupon we save about $92.00 The entire shop is neat, clean and well organized. They highly suggest you save your receipt if you need to make an exchange. The entire staff is friendly and helpful which made our shopping experience a good one. They are still closed to the public, so you can't stop by to purchase in-person at all... and are not updating or filling orders from over a month ago. Apparently, Merry Mart has bought the only competition that Merry Mart had, which was Appletree Uniforms. I've been trying since July to buy PE clothes and new skirts for my grandchildren, which I used to buy every year from Appletree! I can't get hold of any warm body at Merry Mart, and their website indicates that the uniforms from my grandkids' school is out of stock. No one answers the phone, the voice mail is full, so I can't make an appointment! It is now Sept 1, school has been in session for two weeks, and my granddaughter only has one skirt from last year that fits! It's chilly in the mornings, and neither child has a school sweater or sweatshirt that fits. My grandson is wearing PE shorts that are way too small. The only compensation is that the other children are in the same fix; I truly hope that some of the wealthier parents get together and either file a class action lawsuit, or Stuart a competing store! read more

I ordered my son's uniform over a month ago and we still haven't received it, nor have I heard anything other than their generic "we're having delays". NO SHIT. School began weeks ago and if it weren't for our school's second hand exchange, my son would have nothing. If you're so busy, then hire more people! This is unacceptable. I ordered two bows back in August '21. It is now January 2022 and I haven't received the bows. I requested a refund through email a while back and I received a response that they will forward my email to an associate and get back to me. I know it is not an inventory issue nor is it staffing. I filed a complained to the Better Business Bureau and guess what, my daughter's uniforms arrived a week later. When I received the uniforms, they were the wrong size, the pants were terrible quality, and I didn't receive the jumpers that I ordered. The store is closed on 1/3/22. The business did not update the yelp hours. I was lucky enough to get an in-person appointment in August to do returns/exchanges. The store associate aggressively pushed me to keep my pre-order instead of canceling out-of-stock items. Big mistake. One uniform T-shirt took 4 months to fulfill. The child outgrew the size by the time the T-shirt arrived. Many parents in similar situations, till this day, are scrambling to do exchanges offline. Tried scheduling another return/size upgrade in-person many weeks earlier to avoid the shipping charges, only to discover that the store decided to shut down and canceled the appointment a few days prior to the appointment. The store opening hours are not convenient for parents - I had to make arrangements/take time off to do the return; This.is.a.nightmare. The store needs to refund return shipping. read more

This place continues to disappoint. I've learned to walk in the store for anything I need, knowing the super long order fulfillment times. So I placed an order online to pick up in store on a Sunday. By Wednesday I tried calling since I hadn't heard anything. The outgoing message indicated they are short staffed and too busy to answer the phone so please come in to the store. Thursday morning I arrive at 11 AM sharp and they are closed. By 11:15 one of the many other parents waiting rang the bell and we found out they are closed this week. The outgoing phone message says they are open. But they aren't able to answer the phone due to short staffing and how busy they are. My frustration is now with the Diocese who will not provide another vendor that is easier to buy from. Our students are required to wear uniforms and that is fine. Why can't they use a vendor who answers the phone, is open for business? Every single time I walk in they are not busy. I do not understand what they are so busy doing! It's quiet and there's usually someone or 2 standing at the counter chit chatting. If they are closed for inventory, fine. Put it on your outgoing voicemail! I guess it didn't even occur for them to do so since they never plan on answering the phone anyway. The prices are expensive and after the second wash they look like they're from the used clothing bin anyway. Might as well buy our school wardrobe from there. Unfortunately, this store holds the monopoly on private school uniforms in the area and we have no other choice. Items remain backordered for months even though the school year has already started! It is impossible to contact anyone at the store in order to get any answers. The physical store is closed and appointments are hard to schedule. Calls automatically roll to voice mail, but their voicemail inbox is full. They don't even answer the emails sent to them through the customer inquiry form on their web site. Merry Mart has taken our money and it has provided only a partial shipment and appalling customer service. We are compelled to buy the missing items from our school. This whole experience leaves us wondering why Merry Mart is still in business given the numerous complaints. Randy and I walked in here ready to purchase Skyes uniform for school. We were mainly here for the plaid jumper, cardigan and hair accessories. Service was the equivalent of turning on the lights in a cockroach infested room. Once you turn on the light, they scurry away. It's like walking into a deserted town in the old west. We use MerryMart because our kid's school requires their uniforms. Last year, during Covid, they let the community know that there were longer processing times and the company was shorter staffed due to Covid. Fair enough, we made due. This year, we had to order larger uniforms in august. The promised delivery time was 3-4 weeks. After two months we started calling the store to see if they could give is an updated delivery time. No answer and our calls were never returned. So we went into the store to inquire about our order. The front desk person (who btw never greeted us or looked up from his phone until we were at the counter) told us, and I kid you not, that MerryMart doesn't answer their phone because they don't plug it in anymore. They're getting too many calls a day, so they UNPLUGGED THEIR PHONE. I cannot with this company. I hope DSJ explores other options for uniforms. read more

I am 1000% agreeing with all the bad reviews. The owner really needs to listen to what the customers are telling them and make some serious changes. It is impossible to get through Merry Mart to get any response. Ignoring your customer is not how you do business, but the owner tends to think this is the way to conduct the business. This place is the worst! Ordered two uniform pieces online and was pleasantly surprised to receive a call a few days later saying my uniform itemS were ready for pick up. Head over during their very limited hours (m-f 11-5 is super convenient for working parents) only to find out that only one of our items is ready for pick up. What?? Our other item -nothing uncommon a regular school polo shirt - won't be ready for 6-8 weeks. That's helpful for the start of school! Tried calling to get clarification of when it might be ready, and they literally say on their voicemail that they don't answer the phone and to email them. 4 days later and still no return email. I try my best to avoid this place, but they have the monopoly on private school uniforms. I can't wait til my kid graduates from 8th grade and I never have to give them another Penny of my money. I was forced to order online since they don't want customers in their store (awesome business plan by the way). Every other store has figured out how to open during Covid but ok. Order placed in July 2021 was just delivered in February 2022. Order placed in September 2021 is now estimated to arrive in Summer 2022. Kids have already outgrown the size that was ordered. The uniform quality for the price is terrible. The sizing is way off and the pants and shorts are cheap feeling yet 4x the cost of much nicer uniform pants at pretty much any other store.
