requested a deep clean and ended up with a rushed, clean-ish apartment. No drawers were cleaned (as stated in the email), few surfaces were wiped down. The two cleaners were enthusiastic about vacuuming and creating roses out of toilet paper and fans out of paper towels but had little interest in doing their job. When I called after, I was told their satisfaction guarantee meant the cleaners could come back. That of course placed the burden on me and on my time. They didn't want to give me any sort of discount for the wasted time. I was not satisfied with the uneven service. Not horrible, but I ended up cleaning things myself after because I had to move out of the apartment and had other errands. Do not recommend. read more

They've been cleaning my house for years, and I have nothing but great things to say. They're a very professional service, flexible when I need to change our scheduled day, and always friendly and responsive. After they've cleaned, the house always looks exactly as I left it (except cleaner!), which is often not the case with other housekeepers I've used. read more

Merry Maids has always been wonderful!! The staff in the office is very friendly and accommodating. The team that I was sent was very thorough and helped me with some additional requests I had. The home smelled heavenly and was very organized. They were even brave enough to clean above my cabinets which have not been done in a LONG time! I hoped to use a regular service with them, but I had to stop the service after the first cleaning. I give them one star (not 0) because they did cleaned my house, but the overall service was unsatisfactory, unpleasant and not worth the high price they charge ($100/h). In summary, they have at least three problems: 1) Unsatisfactory cleaning & high cost: After they cleaned, there were visible hairs left on the tub and floor that I had to remove by myself. when we moved the glass door over the tub, we saw that they only cleaned the visible part; the other half was not touched at all. The contrast was visible and sharp. They spent most time in the bedrooms (which were not very dirty) and had only 20 minutes left to clean the kitchen in a big hurry, leaving the surfaces not wiped and 2/3 of the kitchen floor not scrubbed/ wiped. The diaper bin was broken--seemed they broke into it by force--but no one told us or apologized. The estimated cleaning time was 3 hours, but in the end they finished in 5 hours. So we paid much more ($500) than the estimated cost ($300). We don't have unlimited budget and trusted their estimates, but the discrepancy turned out to be big. Within the 5 hours, they spent the least time cleaning the parts that needed cleaning the most (kitchen & bathroom), and we had to call a stop eventually because the price added up too much. 2) Rude staff and bad attitudes: I totally agree with other reviewers that they were very condescending and even insulting. I greeted them warmly despite they were half an hour past the latest arrival time; I got no apologies or smiles back and instead they frowned and asked me whether it's the wrong house or not. They didn't finish the cleaning by the estimated time that day. When they came two days later, they didn't know which room they cleaned. I told them the family room wasn't cleaned, one girl immediately asserted she cleaned it. I pointed to her the spider webs, she said:"I cleaned the room but the curtain was down last time, that's why it's still here". I had to show her around to make her acknowledge the fact. Then we headed to the bathroom. I thanked them first and politely asked them whether they could clean the other half of the tub. The same girl immediately frowned and said angrily: "I came out at 7:00am this morning. And I stayed late last Friday at your house--I worked extra 45 minutes for you!" I was speechless--is it my fault that they came out this early?? Yes they worked extra minutes, but I was charged for that extra amount too. Not to mention all my friendly gestures and the 20 dollars tip I gave to them last time. I didn't argue with her but politely asked whether the other girl could try. She worked on it for about 40 minutes and then told me:" let me show you what's wrong with your tub. For the price you pay, you won't get this cleaned. You also need to bring bleach for us next time. Our company doesn't use bleach but we'll need bleach to clean it next time." I gave up--knowing that I need to have a different cleaning company to come and decide this will not be the service I'll use for another time. 3) Disorganized schedule: They were half an hour late on the first day. But the second day was even worse--I was first told by the office that they would arrive in the morning around 10. No one showed up. I called the office and they told me it's between 11:00a and 12:00pm. I waited and no one showed up either. I called them again at 12:45pm and the office woman told me:"oh they just called too; they would arrive between 15 and 20 minutes." I told her they were late last time as well and asked whether they could notify me next time if they'll be late. She said:"last time they had a special cleaning, and this time too. But they did call, they happen to call at the same time as you!" OK, it seemed it's my fault to request them to inform me--they have a reason to be late every time, and they will call me almost 1 hour past the arrival time. They finally arrived around 1:00pm. One of the girls changed into another person--I got no prior notice of that. She didn't introduce herself or explain to me about why the staff change. I had to cancel an important appointment that afternoon because of their late arrival and suffered from all the anxiety, the strange staff change and the rude conversations. Overall this was very unpleasant experience. Their cost is among the high end ($100/h) and the service is low end. As I'm writing it, I'm still feeling the stings the staff gave me. From the cleaning staff to the office staff, every time you had a question, they always defended themselves at the expense of your needs and feelings. That's unprofessional and not the right way to do business. Your house will not be cleaned within a reasonable time and budget. You'll not know when they'll show up. Your request and needs don't get satisfied. Life is beautiful and I'll not work with or recommend those who ruin it. read more

The entire experience was surreal. I called for an appt. Was told they were busy they'd call me back ASAP. 3 days later (NO call from them to take my business and money) I called them again. FINALLY got an appointment. The girls didn't show up in the 2 1/2 window I was provided. I called and was told they had to come back to the home base to get more supplies. I waited another HOUR and finally 2 girls (one older and EXTREMELY LAZY) one young. She proceeded to BREAK a very expensive piece of art in my bathroom. They didn't dust, they didn't clean under furniture (i.e. the bed, couch or small and EASY to move chair.) The younger girl was CONSTANTLY checking her phone for text messages. The older one had what seemed to be an argument on her phone all while they were "on the clock" as I was billed per hour. As they began to clean the smallest room in my house they ran a dust cloth over a piece of furniture and then sad "TIMES UP" and started to pack up. I asked if they could please run a vacuum over the carpet and the response was "It's going to cost you" I asked how much? they claimed to have NO idea. I called the service, they didn't answer. Meanwhile the 2 "workers" stood there chatting on their phones. I asked for another number to contact a supervisor and was given a cell number which was listed in (young girls) phone as "the boss" No answer. I said please finish the room...I'll deal with the payment later. While they RELUCTANTLY ran a vacuum over the carpet I inspected my master bedroom. It was a MESS. The shelves were dusty and I brought both girls into the room and asked if they could wipe the dust. Older woman said NO. Younger girl agreed... I should also mention that upon arrival I offered them coffee and treats as well as bottled water and sparkling water. I am a gracious host and wanted them to feel appreciated. I was charged an EXTRA $54.00 for overtime. I was told that would be refunded once I called to dispute the charge...It wasn't refunded! I was told the "Manger" would call me the following day to discuss and refund money. This was nearly THREE WEEKS AGO...Still nothing. I am a clean person. I actually went ahead and did a quick clean BEFORE they showed up (as I think a lot of people do) and I can assure you...As busy as my work schedule IS...I will NEVER use this "service" again. $254.00 for dusty shelves, broken pieces of art and 2 girls more concerned with their iPhones than completing the task I PAID for. I honestly blame management more than the actual "cleaning crew" as poor management results in poor work ethic. it is clear that the people who run this particular branch have NO clue of running an efficient, successful business. Employees don't do as instructed, left them specific instructions on what to clean and in what order as well as how long to spend as I didn't have an unlimited budget. Employees didn't follow any of my instructions then made up a story in an attempt to get me to authorize more time. For the price I paid I would expect them to follow basic directions and not try to steal from me. read more

Very happy with the quality of the work. Would rather deal with a company and bonded employees rather than with individuals whose backgrounds I don't know. The house looks and smells great after a cleaning. I'm allergic to perfumes yet the scented products they use don't bother me. Nice that they bring in their own vacuum and cleaning supplies. terrible cleaning AND terrible service. I do NOT recommend these guys to anyone and I apologize to the people i did recommend them to. Not only when they did not clean well, clumps of hair and dust in the corners and on the floors, shower slightly wiped down but certainly not cleaned, when i brought it to their attention, they actually made me feel as though what i was asking for was crazy and they wanted to up the price. They treated me as though i had done something wrong or had expectations too high (god forbid you expect a clean room when you hire a cleaning service.) They told me they can't keep getting bad scores (which i only ever scored them once) and that they can't keep doing redo's (which they NEVER did for me) so i'm not sure what they are talking about but if they don't want bad scores, they either shouldn't ask people, or do a better job, obviously. I would have been willing to work with them and give them an opportunity to improve their service until they they wanted to up the price, and they spoke to me in such a condescending way. They decided that they had given me the wrong price for the "type" of cleaning i wanted. The cleaning i wanted was pretty straight forward and normal, dust removed and vacuumed, nothing abnormal and everyone's expectations when they hired a cleaning service. I expected that when they left, i didn't have to immediately get out the vacuum and clean after the cleaning service was here. DO NOT hire these people. You WILL have to clean up after them and you will not be getting what you pay for, and they will tell you that it's your expectations that are too high. The only expectations i had was to have a clean room. not a partly wiped down room. The complaints I had were of VERY visible messes left behind (not hidden stuff, very visible).
