Do you like being harassed by management and having things added to your rent 3 months into a lease illegally? Then this is the place for you. Harassment started the day before we moved in, when the manager Rick or Patrick (name changes depending on paperwork or day I guess) told my husband he would meet him to let him take some measurements of the unit. My husband drove a hour to meet him and Rick was a no show. When he called, Rick stated he had no plans on coming, started fighting with my husband telling him he will no longer go forward with the lease and hung up on him blocking him (very professional). I called from my phone where he gave me the run around but eventually gave me the code to get in seeing as he was in the wrong for making an appointment he didn't show up to. Moving forward Rick then decided to add pet rent 3 months into the lease for pets that were on the lease that he signed. Nowhere on our 53 page lease does it state that a monthly pet rent would apply. We addressed that this is not legal according to our attorney and he decided to give us a 3 day or quit for the pet rent he illegally added but also for a camera he claimed was facing the rental office. As he was serving the notice he was caught on said camera, which actually faced our door, trying to unlock our personal lockbox we had on our door for our children that had a house key inside. Not knowing what he would have done if he got the key out we made sure to have the alarm set if we were home or not for our safety. When we moved in there were several things that were not ready such as plugs for all the sinks, the master shower head broken, stained carpet smelling of mold, etc. When Rick sent out guys to "clean" the carpet the appointment was set for 1:30. My husband seen the guys sitting outside the unit at 10:30 am and told them if they would like to start then he was home and could. I then got a threatening text from Rick stating my husband was outside demanding these guys go in right then. Before I could respond Rick called me while at work screaming at me so loud my employees could hear every word he said. Moving forward Rick sent another 3 day or quit notice as a scare tactic ( this time under Patrick) to try and make us pay. We received emails of 3 day or quit for Xmas decorations (people still have them out now and it is not in the lease you can't have decorations out) and a bbq on our porch while everyone has bbq's on their porch (this is actually in the lease on page 51 the only 3 day or quit he could actually give a reference to). The list goes on and on. The building is poorly built with cheap materials and not worth the amount they are charging. The amenities they offer, half the stuff doesn't work ( bbq's, gym equipment, etc) I would definitely not recomm end this property or any properties REMM group manages seeing as they allow their management team to harass tenants often. UPDATE: after going in person and speaking with Rick Neely and countless promises of getting the the fees illegally added by Rick removed we are now getting calls from collection agencies. He is now messing with our credit. I have all the text and emails of his empty promises to prove that Rick and The REMM group are crooks and liars.

A good place to settle down if you have a small family. The only downside is that there is limited parking for guests.

Ask the Community - Meridian at Phillips Ranch

Would you recommend 3 cal poly Pomona students rooming together to live here if they have the money?

I would not. It seems to me this community is for professionals and family oriented tenants.

On top of the already expensive rent, there are constant extra fees that make it feel like the only priority is squeezing more money out of residents. This property is owned by a large management company that seems to care more about profits than the people who actually live here. Parking is one of the biggest issues. There are frequent break-ins reported in the parking structure, yet residents are expected to pay even more for parking. Finding a spot is nearly impossible unless you pay for an additional reserved space. Meanwhile, the towing company is constantly patrolling, and cars are quickly towed if you don't follow the confusing parking rules. It feels less like resident convenience and more like another way to collect money. Security is also a major concern. You need a fob for almost everything, but somehow that does not stop random people from getting into the building. Packages are constantly being stolen, and residents are left dealing with the consequences. The security measures seem more like an inconvenience for paying residents rather than an actual solution. The trash rooms are consistently filthy and often left in unacceptable conditions. The parking structure is another issue -- people speed through it, creating a dangerous environment for pedestrians and other drivers. What's also concerning is that many negative reviews seem to disappear over time, which makes it difficult for potential residents to get an honest picture of what living here is actually like. For the amount of money residents pay, you would expect better management, safer conditions, and a property that actually feels cared for. Unfortunately, this place feels like another example of a large company prioritizing revenue over resident satisfaction. Aka the new account made is the Gabriel apartments

Management has been unresponsive to ongoing concerns, including excessive noise, security issues, cleanliness problems, and maintenance requests. The property frequently experiences disturbances late at night, making it difficult to enjoy any peace and quiet in your own home. Common areas are often not maintained to an acceptable standard, and issues such as pet waste, pests, and unpleasant odors have been recurring problems. There have also been concerns regarding safety and security around the property, yet meaningful action often seems delayed or nonexistent. Residents are expected to continue paying high rent while dealing with conditions that do not reflect the price being charged. Communication from management can be inconsistent, and getting updates or resolutions to reported issues often requires repeated follow-up. Overall, the lack of accountability and attention to resident concerns has made living here a disappointing experience. I expected a much higher standard of living and customer service. Unfortunately, Monterey Station Apartments has fallen far short of those expectations.

Absolutely anyone and everyone has access to our complex. At the same time, people who do not live here hover around our entrances looking for drugs, doing drugs, using our power outlets ( all tenants pay electricity collectively), and walking through the hallways. You think this could be solved with security cameras-- rewind the footage, see who it is, report it. However, WE ALL have a good feeling that these cameras are broken/busted/fake. Tenants have gone to management and to our surprise, a crime happened in a blind spot or damn, the camera magically wasn't on at that moment. We were very happy there. During one particularly rainy season the ceiling leaked over the stairs but the roof was quickly repaired and it never happened again. In May 2023 we moved to a larger 4 bedroom in the building just west of the pool. We regretted this move almost immediately. In the new apartment we experienced a roach infestation and rats in the walls. Rats could be seen running around the property during the day and at night. There were also rats eating the walls inside our garage. On top of this, giant horse flies were entering our home from the attic space through a light fixture. Water pooled inside our dryer when not in use because it shared a vent with another unit next to us. Nothing could be done to fix this. It took hours and a lot of electricity to dry a single load. We experienced two major floods in our kitchen from a burst pipe almost one year apart from each other. The first was over a holiday weekend and no one responded to our plumbing emergency for hours. The remodeled new cabinetry had to be cut out and replaced and holes cut out of the wall under the sink to access very old pipes. Cardboard was placed inside to block the hole until it was repaired, however at least one rat (that we saw) managed to get into our apartment during this timeframe. The AC didn't work at all upstairs during the summer and our kids were miserable. The last thing I will mention is that the water bill was astronomically high every month. It's my opinion that there must have been leaks all over the property that renters became responsible for since all property water usage was divided between residents. Parking was limited. Once we got home from work we stayed home for the evening otherwise we would usually lose our parking space. There's no overnight parking in the city of Claremont. The property itself was quiet and peaceful. Generally safe. It's a nice place to live if you have a dog. The landscaping was always attractive and pool well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood is nice to walk in. "Luxury Apartments" definitely didn't describe our experience the last two years of living there, especially for the steep price.

Since moving in about 6 months ago my experience has been a nightmare dealing with Rats and huge roaches (there's been other issues but these are the biggest problems). There are rats living within my walls. The scratching and thumping coming from the bedroom walls (upstairs) keeps us up some nights. My children and I are completely disgusted, and horrified to think one of these rats will make its way into the apartment. Ricky is fully aware of my situation as I am constantly keeping him up to date with emails including videos of the sounds from my walls and photos of roaches and rats, even though I don't get a response I am still sending him emails. Pest control came out twice but the problem still persists as their only solution was to place more traps and rat poison outside of my apartment, but that doesn't stop the rats from entering into my walls. There is no sense of urgency to find the entry points and close them. I've asked what the next step is to solve the problem, no response with a solution. I finally got a response from him a couple of weeks ago after I sent yet another email about the problems still persisting and explaining that I was ready to write an honest review due to the lack of solution, and his response was him defending himself stating he has sent pest control out and that there hasn't been any recent rat activity detected on their end, sounded like he was insinuating that I'm lying. Clearly there IS recent rat activity as I am still sending new photos and videos of the rats and roaches. Pest control has sprayed my apartment, but it's done nothing for the roaches. Waking up to huge roaches every morning has been depressing, my son recently saw one on his pillow so he slept on the couch because he was grossed out. Moving here was a complete waste of my time and money and I'm counting down the days to move out of here.
