The tech was calling me from his mobile while driving into the office. He literally walked me through what I had to do. "Have you ever lit a gas BBQ? Same concept." Did as he instructed and BAM, we are back in business. Green Tech could have come out and charged me an hourly, which I was willing to pay for, but instead taught an old man a new skill. After being overcharged and underwhelmed by our previous plumber, I was on the hunt for a capable plumber to install a whole house water filtration system. From the moment I reached out to Green Tech Plumbing, they were nothing but responsive and helpful. I purchased the filtration system from a vendor, yet Kevin willingly answered all my questions (promptly!) about the system. He even pointed out that one of the options had expensive filters that would need to be changed frequently saving me hundreds of dollars in filters. What a gem! Kevin came out to look at how the system could be installed in our space and talked to me through how the system would work and answered all my questions. He then provided a fair quote. Once our system was delivered, I emailed to set up the installation. His team came out the following week for the installation. The tech Kevin sent was just as helpful! He moved the 100-pound tank from the garage to the basement, which wasn't part of their scope. The tech had to make a run to the hardware store to buy connection pieces that weren't included with system, but he knew exactly what to buy and did so in a timely manner. The install was speedy and flawless. The tech was even willing to stay while I called the vendor's water filtration system customer service expert to walk us through the start up process. On top of this great experience, I wrote a check for the incorrect amount and Kevin responded right away saying he would swing by and drop a check in our mailbox for the overpayment. Unreal! Okay, it does not make me happy to leave this review…read more First, at the initial visit Anthony told me the water overflowing all over the floor was because a little piece was off the back of the toilet. But the water was turned off and learned later that day it was a sewer problem! When I said I needed a new toilet he saw the paid receipt and went to leave in his truck! We NEVER DISCUSSED the new toilet; i.e., brand, model! He told me one brand was Kohler and I said "fine." Later I realized he hadn't given me a model and had to call to get it! Clayton arrives and installs the new toilet and, of course, removes the old. He also puts caulking around it. Being hypervigilant after the floor floiding four times from the sewer I ask if thin caulking is ok. I only wanted reassurance. They say they don't do phone calls and have to send someone out. Clayton is three hours late and I am not given any estimate! He decides to remove the caulk which was fine and adds too much because it is "bleeding". I did wait 36 hours to use the toilet after he said to wait 24 hours. Is this what over $1,000 in labor gets?

I felt very well taken care of through the entire process and would like to shout out Danny who was here for over eight hours troubleshooting and solving the issues with my toilet and sink (services I had done include repairing a completely destroyed collar under my toilet, resealing the toilet, installing a new disposal, installing a new faucet and grit trap, and redoing the plumbing joints for both the toilet and the sink.) The price also includes a warranty in case something breaks again, which offers peace of mind, and the company was diligent with working things out with my building to get me scheduled. So at the end of the day, I do think I paid a premium price but I got the quality of service and peace of mind to match, rather than gambling on a cheaper service (again, I keep thinking about how it was an 8 plus hour job and Danny was working the entire time beyond quick breaks to move his vehicle/retrieve tools). This had to be the strangest interaction with any service provider I've had. Didn't seem to know what he was doing and then provided a ridiculous quote with no explanation. Seven days after I paid J. Blanton Plumbing $13,000 to line my sewer, their own technicians came…read moreback and drilled holes in it. Here is how that happened. The company recommended a cured-in-place liner for the main sewer line at my Park Ridge home. I accepted the recommendation and paid in full. The liner went in on August 3, 2026. On August 10, after heavy overnight rain, I found water across the full footprint of my finished basement. The house had never flooded before in the six years I've lived here. I called the company that day. The first crew could not determine where the water was entering. J. Blanton then sent back the same technicians who had installed the liner. One of them told me the liner had reduced the capacity of the original sewer pipe, recommended drilling holes through the new liner to relieve it, and did so. The water stopped. I asked the company in writing to clean up the basement and determine what had gone wrong. They denied responsibility and attributed the flooding to the absence of drainage tiles--an issue never raised when the liner was recommended, sold, or installed. Water mitigation cost just under $4,000. The baseboards were removed and drilled to dry the wall cavities behind them, and they still need to be replaced. J. Blanton offered to pay for remediation, but once my basement backflowed again, the remediation was useless. It's disappointing how they took no ownership and blamed me for not having proper drainage--with an offer to pay remediation cost. How did I know I didn't have proper drainage since my basement had never flooded before? So, the money I've paid for the pipe lining which I'd hoped would prevent anything like this happening, the first remediation and reconstruction will probably look like nothing compared to waterproofing, second remediation and reconstruction. If you are considering a liner, from this company or any other, ask in writing before you sign (even if they're rushing you): how does the finished interior diameter compare to my existing pipe, and will lining reduce flow capacity? What is your remedy if the lined pipe backs up? And if the drainage conditions at my house affect whether a liner is appropriate here, tell me now. That last conversation is one to have before the work, not after.
