Ashley Carroll has been cutting my hair for years and she does an INCREDIBLE job. I have referred at least 6 of my friends and family to her, and they all still regularly get haircuts with her--both men's and women's cuts. Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she is such a sweet and genuine person. I highly recommend her!! I had my makeup done with Juliana Rosa today for my engagement photos and she did a wonderful job! I am not very makeup savvy and have never had my makeup done professionally before. Juliana talked me through everything she did and made me feel at ease. She is very friendly, professional, and does a phenomenal makeup job. I am hoping to have her do my hair and makeup for my wedding! :) read more

Meredith's Salon - Nail Salons Near Me - Christiansburg, Virginia

I had got my lashes done many times and around this area, Juliana is probably the best. She's really gentle, calm, and meticulous. My lashes are always pretty thanks to her. It looks really natural and I often get compliments on it. Oh the glue she uses doesn't sting! read more

Only giving one star because they were polite. If you want to spend $180 and two hours of your time for absolutely no change to your hair then here's the place for you. He told me she used A weaker developer to protect the integrity of my hair So there was no change to my color. When you says "oh your hairs so soft" before the process begins you can expect the hair to take to the right developer. Don't be scared to actually make a change and if you don't make a change in the hair own up and don't charge full freaking price. Ridiculous. Never again. Don't recommend. read more

Amy Kinsley is the best! I first started seeing her several years ago while I was a Graduate Student at Virginia Tech. After graduating, I relocated to the DC area and started seeing stylists nearby. After going from salon to salon in the DC area, I had (unknowingly) damaged my hair. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment with Amy during my recent visit to Virginia Tech. Let's just say, it's like your first love, you never forget. :) She knew right away what my hair went through these past few years. In one appointment, she got my hair looking great again! I already scheduled my next appointment. I love her! :) read more

Super impressed with how quickly I was able to get an appointment for a cut and color! This was my first visit to this salon and everyone seemed very professional and the salon itself was an upbeat and family friendly environment. It seems a bit like its outgrowing it's space and felt a bit cramped, especially in the lobby but my hair turned out gorgeous and the services from my stylist were very reasonably priced, turned out wonderful, and all the staff I encountered were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend! read more

I am always satisfied with my experience whether it is to get a haircut or pick up some Bare Minerals. I am usually very picky about my hair, and once I find a stylist I can trust I refuse to go elsewhere. The stylist I recommend is Travis. He is great at his job and is very easy going. It is very easy to get comfortable around him. read more

Meredith's Salon - Nail Salons Near Me - Christiansburg, Virginia

I went to this salon because my hair was over bleached. What I asked for was some additional low lights. What I got was very dark roots and toned all over hair. I even presented a picture of the color I was looking for. My hair is no where near what I showed her. I understand she tried and I appreciate that but this color is darker than my normal hair color and it didn't fix the problem at all. It just gave me a new problem. I just wish people would really listen when you talk to them. Hair is absolutely related to your self esteem. She gets to go on about her life and I have to figure out what to do now. I'm hundreds of dollars in and still hate how I look. This is miserable. read more

I love Meredith's Salon. I have moved to California, and I miss it terribly. The key to my love is Amy Kinsley. She is hands-down the best stylist I have ever met. She knew my hair like the back of her hand - what would work and what wouldn't. She's great at working to create a specific look based on a picture and at helping you come up with a style on your own. She did updos for me on several occasions as well, and they were all fantastic. In addition to all of this, she has a lovely outgoing personality. I always look forward to chatting with her during my appointment. I loved her work so much that while I was at college hours away, I waited to get my hair cut until I could get back to Christiansburg. I'm too far away to use this strategy anymore, but I sure wish I still could. Amy is awesome, and Meredith's Salon is THE place for hair in the New River Valley. read more

I had a rather unpleasant customer service experience, but the hair service ended up being wonderful. I highly suggest coming in with very specific photos of what you want done and being extremely clear and persistent. My stylist attempted to change my mind about my hair ideas for about 15 minutes straight and called me "crazy" for not listening to her advice and still wanting my original idea. So glad I stuck it out because it turned out absolutely wonderfully! read more

They are very pretentious and tend to be up-eddy with their customers. On several occasions I have witnessed staff talk about customers in a derogatory fashion. As a local I refuse to give this company my business due to there poor treatment of customers. read more

I am not used to write reviews. Based on the good ratings, I decided to give this salon a try. Yeah, the environment is upscale and cozy and staff respect customers. However, they dont really put much effort to understand what they have been asked to do. I asked to color my hair dark brown but now I have a very dark dracula-like hair. The coloring process took almost 2 hours and she repeatedly ran out of dye claiming she doesnt have an idea on my hair tickness. Yeah I have lots of hair but shouldnt you look at the volume of my hair first and then try to make the paste? Also I showed a picture of my desired haircut but she gave me a different haircut.. Anyway I am not satisfied with the service. Such a waste of over 100 bucks. read more

I was completely lied to by the workers here. I went in for a consultation before getting my hair done. I asked the price, how long the session would take, if they can do what I asked and they said they could do everything I wanted. I booked the appointment and left with literally nothing done to my hair. No one can even tell I got anything done not even myself or my own mother!! The hairstylist was nice and I am a nice person so I left without complaining but the longer I look at myself the more annoyed I get. I paid so much money for nothing other than 2 splotchy pieces of blond in my hair that is so ugly I might just cut those pieces off. I asked another hairstylist that I know of from back home what they thought and not only do they agree that I was completely scammed by the price, but that the hairstylist didn't know what she was doing and did an awful job. I wish I would've never went to this place and now I'm left with money out of my pocket, bad hair, and my time wasted. Not to mention I now have to go to another stylist to get those random splotchy pieces fixed. This is why people are too scared to get their hair done. read more

Am not sure, how this place such great reviews on yelp. Am new to the area, so checked out on yelp and thought, oh wow great reviews and got an appointment. when i took the appointment, i specifically told that along with root touch up, I will need a wash and blow dry, styled specifically. and the lady told me.. oh sure.. and when i asked for the price for styling I was told its included with the color. that should have been my first strike. when i got there for the appointment, the salon looked very chic and stylish. the stylist was late by 15 min.. sure, busy day, no issues. my stylist was Lisa and she seems to a beginner. she just dabbed the color. i see my color was not done properly once i got home. second, she just washed my hair and then just with a blow dryer ..dried my hair half way though and left half of the hair wet and just the hair on the front she used a straightener and straitened and made it "look" like it was styled. waste of my money and time.. after going home, i had to redo the whole styling myself. if it was all wet it would have been easy for me. since it was "half-done:" it was such a pain.. not going back there again .. and wouldnt suggest to others. read more

If you are looking for a top notch hair salon, Look no further. Ashley Carrol does my hair color, and trims every 4-6 weeks. From the time you walk in, until you leave, the customer service is by far the BEST! They give you a drink of your choice, and free samples when they can. What other salon does that? None that I know of. Thank you to everyone for being so sweet, wearing a smile, and going the extra mile. Lynn read more

Believe the hype. Kevin is a freaking wizard of color. He consistently has great solutions to the minor tweaks I request (don't want a streaky ponytail? No problem! Want to tone down the bleachy parts from a previous stylist? DONE!) and I walk out of his salon looking like I was born gorgeous. Plus, Kevin is friendly and fun to hang out with while he works. An absolute top-notch experience. read more

I came here once, I have a very short women's cut. After I got home and inspected I realized the girl did not hard part my hair when she cut it causing the side that I sweep over had pieces that were an inch or two long that would stick up messing up my hair cut. She also squared my sideburns which I came in with pointed. She didn't even ask me how I wanted them, I then had to ask her to try to fix it while I was still at the salon. She left the top very chunky and not blended into the sides at all. Needless to say I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed and that stylist made a comment about the girl giving me a mans haircut. read more

Lucia gave me a partial highlight and trim and did an excellent job! Too often I've gone to salons that are scissor happy, even when I insist that I love my length and simply want to clean up some split ends. She took off the perfect amount - my hair feels so much healthier but is still long the way I like it. I don't think my hair has ever felt so smooth after a salon visit either! Reasonable prices, nothing out of the ordinary for quality salon services, and was able to book an appointment the day before. read more

Love Meredith's so much that I make an appt every 2-3 months that I'm in the area! Tammy is great, she does a wonderful job, and the prices are much better than they are at salons in my hometown, so it's worth the wait! read more

This is a really lovely place. I mostly see (and ADORE) Barbara, but the rest of their staff is very sweet and they seem quite talented. We are very lucky to have Meredith's in the NRV. read more

I miss Meredith's so much! I used to see Martha when I lived in Blacksburg a few years ago. I was constantly trying new new cuts/colors and she would always nail it, from full on blonde highlights to ombre. Two years after moving and I have yet to find a stylist I like as much as Martha. Talented staff and reasonable prices - Meredith's comes highly recommended! read more

This is honestly one of the best hair salons I've ever been to. I went in wanting to get a silver tone and blend in my roots a little. A friend had recommended Haley Alderman, who is absolutely amazing. She spent a few hours working on my hair and I loved the result. She asked me to come in a week later because there still some yellow undertones that she wanted to get out so it's exactly like the picture I showed her. I came in a week later (no extra charge) and she spent a couple more hours blending in those yellow undertones. The customer service was absolutely amazing. She spent so much of her time ensuring that I walk out with hair that looked like the picture I showed her. I LOVE the end result. The fact that she did all this even without me asking or saying anything speaks volumes about this place. Haley is 110% my go to person when it comes to hair and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a new stylist. read more

I recently moved from NC, where I went to an incredible salon. I had heard great things about Meredith's, but after two visits, I've been nothing but disappointed. My stylist seemed to listen to what I wanted, but had completed my shampoo, cut and dry in less than 20 minutes. She didn't dry it all the way, fluffed it up in a way that was completely unnatural (and unattractive) and didn't ask my opinion. She also did not show me the back or sides to see if I was happy with the cut. When I got home and took the "fluff" out of it, down to a normal style, I realized she did not cut it well and there are uneven pieces. Additionally, it wasn't even exactly what I was hoping for. I will not be making a return visit, nor would I recommend this salon to others. read more

I have been a Meredith's customer since they opened their doors. Kevin and his staff are always friendly and professional. I know I'm in good hands here, as the stylists are not only the best in their field, but are sure to stay the best with top notch continuing education. They are a full service salon and whether you are getting a massage, manicure, cut or color treatment you will be impressed with the level of service you receive. I live in Roanoke, but still make the trip to Meredith's as I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone other than Kevin and his staff, and the bonus is how reasonably priced they are. I suggest that if you want to look fabulous and have fun with a great staff, call for an appointment today! read more

If there is zero star, I would give zero. Worst experience ever. The stylist , Amber, new to this place, has only been working here for one month, didn't know how to cut the style in the picture shown by me, couldn't cut the layers in the front, cut the front too short, and at last, she curled all of my hair outwards, but in the pic it is inward only in the front, which can easily be done by blowing dry inward. I said this does not look like the pic at all, she never apologized but kept defending herself, : look your hair is too thin. " then later, she said" because your hair is too thick". Afterwards, she kept pressing me to pay" you need to pay the $25" Wow, wow, wow, if this is a better salon, why such an incompetent stylist is here? It even makes me doubt about the judgement of the owners and the competency of this place. STRONGly advised not to go there. Do Not waste your money! I wonder why there are only five star reviews. They probably delete the bad reviews, so watch out for mine. read more

I just got my hair cut by Travis, and he did an amazing job with my straight, fine hair! I love that he really listened to what I was looking for, made suggestions, and even taught me how to style my new cut. Plus, everyone there was very welcoming and the price was reasonable. read more

Not satisfied and wished I didn't tip! Haley was my stylist and did NOT listen to my request. I went in hoping to cut off several inches. I wanted the length to hit the top of my shoulders. Instead she went scissor crazy! She cut it below my chin and gave me a bob when I specifically said I didn't want one. It was as if she couldn't stop her scissors! When I said, "Wow that is short!" In total shock mind you. Haley's response was, "Yeah in the morning you will wake up and say 'ahhh what did I do!' " No Haley, what did you do! That is not what you say to a customer!! I walked out and cried in my car. Can't wait for my hair to grow out. Definitely not recommending the service ever! read more
