I felt like I was inside the food truck, getting served by newly graduated cooks who were looking at me with eager eyes hoping I would love what they made for me. And it's a good feeling. It's a feeling that conveys, "you and your food are safe here". Now, I do feel like the presentation of the food took the food truck metaphor a bit too far. I prefer a bit more whimsical sight of my food, but that didn't make it any less delicious! Spicy, hot, fuego chicken wings: perfect during this fight against "The Disease No One Wants To Hear About Every Again". Not like I'm used to, but still good. Now we arrived after midnight, but this restaurant stays open till at least 2AM. The wait was very very long, I'll give them some leeway because the meals we ordered take some time to make but 1h30 felt like 3 when the waitress is rude and tells you 10-20 minutes later that the meal you ordered is unavailable. Besides that, the interior is like a nganda (Congolese restaurant) which makes you feel comfortable. There's always music and you'll catch a soccer game on occasion. The food is good but nothing I would qualify as exceptional. I have to say they're better than a lot of African restaurants in Matongé. Definitely give it a try to see for yourself

My yassa chicken was decent quality meat, but the sauce was very one-note and lemony. My friends with the variety platters fared better as they were able to have a bunch of different flavors and textures, whereas mine just got boring after time. Do note they have a number of vegetarian options. It was lovely to be outside; we were there during a jazz festival and a few live bands came through. Though the other restaurants were lively, we were the only customers at ours-- surprisingly, service was super slow. The woman was annoyed when we asked for the bill. The inside looks wild with lots of paintings on the wall. The bathroom is okay. A cheap and filling meal, but think I could have found a better spot in the area with some research.
