At the beginning of March, I got really sick. Coughing, sneezing, trouble breathing... all the hallmarks of a bad infection. Unfortunately I am prone to upper respiratory infections, but this was truly awful. My body ached so bad, it was painful to even move. I had traveled to Florida about a week or so before I started showing symptoms. Because of what was starting to go around at the time, I decided to be proactive and go to an urgent care. I prayed I didn't have covid. I called my insurance as I am new to the area and Mercy Health was the nearest urgent care that took my insurance. I went there to get seen by a doc.
I got there and I was the first and only patient in thru the doors. I applied some hand sanitizer and put on a mask they had available and quickly provided my insurance information before I was seen by a nurse and then a doctor. I was administered a flu test and gave them a brief medical history and told them my symptoms. I didn't have any bronchitis, and my flu exam came back negative but the doctor was sure I had a viral infection. He called it a non-flu viral infection. No idea what that would be but he did prescribe me meds including prednisone which helped me start breathing better again.
Took me weeks to get completely better. Still don't know what it was I had. Super happy with the service and help I received here. read more
