Even though the Summit is much larger than Huntsville's Bridge Street Town Centre, I was excited when 10 years later, Bridge Street opened in Huntsville!! Summit and Bridge Street share a lot of retail places in common: Altar'd State, Anthropologie, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Bath & Body Works, Belk, Buckle, Chico's, White House/Black Market, Lululemon, Loft, Soma, and more. Huntsville also has many of the same restaurants as Summit. As far as outdoor shopping centers go, I think the Summit is nice and people rave about the views, which I never noticed, honestly. There also is a shortage of public restrooms and then there's traffic on 280....ugh!

Over time, competition from places like The Summit, the rise of online shopping, store closures (Sears, Rich's, Macy's and Belk Home and Kids), then the shootings in 2018 and 2020 led to a huge decline.For a while, it felt like the Galleria would not be able to recover. Well, now it's 2026, and the popularity of the Galleria is rising again. The mall feels brighter, cleaner and safer, due to improved management and security. It's a great spot to spend time indoors during AL's extreme heat, cold or rain (it offers covered parking too). Best of all, the iconic features remain, like the large American flag and classic carousel in the central atrium, and (best of all) Santa's workshop during the holiday season, and make it a fun alternative for young families and grandparents. So if you haven't been to the Galleria in a while, give it a try. It is worth a visit again.

I have gone to several of the other stores that make up this shopping complex but I wish there were better desirable shopping options other than what's currently located here. Overall , this shopping center is clean and there is a big parking lot available to accommodate many people. One plus side is that there are other shopping, restaurants, coffee shops in the area. Vestavia City Center is located in the heart of Vestavia so it's in a centralized location!

Most of the restaurants serve you by having you walk to a small window to place your order and when your buzzer goes off, you return to pick it up. We went on a Friday, so it was crowded and a lot of kiddies were running free, lol. We didn't get to stay to hear the band, but will vowed to return on another evening to check out the entertainment. The big screen had the Master's Tournament on for those that wanted to view it. For insance, if you want the newest air max running shoes, you won't find them here. The mall sits next to an abandoned Wal-Mart, and has more parking than it will probably ever need, so that's good. They do have a variety of interesting things for sale at a few kiosks in the middle of the mall. I got myself a grill for just 20 bucks. Great deal. The redeeming factor here is that they've got a dominos pizza with great carryout specials. They've got grills for cheap, and they've got lots of parking. 1 star for each of those things.
