Every time I come back I remember how wide eyed and full of excitement all of use were to get a bag full of candy - oh the excitement, it was palpable! If only $1 would go so far today! They still have the huge penny candy counter and the same brown bags they have been using for ever. It truly means its summer once those bags are filled and wrappers are ferociously being removed on the sidewalk.

It's decent stuff, but none of it is very special or one of a kind. You could find most of this stuff in any Meijer or Target, I don't know why you would need to go on vacation to shop here. If you don't shop here, you should check it out. They actually carry name brand merchandise and smaller size packaging, to keep the cost down. We learned more about the process of maple syrup (apparently it just doesn't flow from the tree and into bottles. Woops) and even had the chance to drink fresh 'maple' sap; ice cold, crystal clear water with a sweet taste. Our server was knowledgable to explain the process and take our breakfast order. Afterwards we headed back to the sugar shack to take a peek at what was going on. The food was awesome, served in a farmhouse-style room. They are very farm-to-table driven, and the ingredients were of course, fresh and local.
