I always love going to all the different markets when I travel and this one didn't disappoint. Fresh fruits, meats, cheese, fish, pastas, bakery items, side dishes, this market has it all plus many restaurants to try. It's always a pleasure to walk around and soak in the local experience. There are a number of places to eat and I would recommend 2 restaurants to try in the market. Balsamico e Cucina - Monari Federzoni & Da Sergio "Abruzzo e le sue meraviglie " both are good for lunch or an afternoon snack. Great place to purchase gifts for the people back home. read more

Hahaha - somehow the overall rating for this market is four and a half stars?! That's like giving heaven a 4.5 star rating! In my fantasies, I bicycle to this market every day for provisions, which I then cook in my beautiful apartment overlooking the square. In reality, we circled the market several times, wishing we each had three stomachs so we could try everything in sight. We did a tasting of balsamic vinegars at Monari Federzoni, led by a lovely and knowledgeable young lady who spoke excellent English. Then we ate delicious little meatballs glazed in balsamic with sweet and sour onions, and tortellini with parmesan cream, washed down with Lambrusco - a five star experience if I ever had one! read more

One of my favorite things to do when I'm traveling is to visit the local market and/or grocery stores. Mercato Albinelli is more than just a market, after all, Massimo Bottura shops here! We arrived on Saturday around 10am and it was not terribly busy, but people were starting to stream in. I purchase some Parmignano-Reggiano cheese (24 and 36 month) to take home. There is a good amount of balsamic vinegar to sample, but I had already bought some at La Consorteria 1966. There is a sandwich shop in the back corner that I'd read about, but the line was out the door and we didn't have time to wait. Next time! read more

A must for everyone! I could have bought tons of items, had I kitchen access to cook! All the vendors are very friendly and helpful. It's a feast for the eyes and stomach. Some prepared foods. Also, some things to take home like the Balsamic vinegars and some various pasta-making tools, etc. read more

Got here about an hour before they closed after tasting balsamic vinegar at one producer's location. A few vendors were already closed up but most had a bounty of produce, cheese, meat, fresh pasta, prepared goods and bakery items for sale. We picked up some fruit and baked goods and really enjoyed looking at all the local produce - artichokes, fresh borlotti beans, chicorias, mandarinas, chains of cherry tomatoes, glorious porcinis and much more. This was a very worthwhile destination. read more

We spent a lot of time in and around Albinelli. It was a great resource for quality groceries and good meals.

Awesome place full of genuine Italian meats and veggies as well as fruit. Super nice farmers and butchers willing to help
