Mercado 60 is a great and inviting space to meet friends or acquaintances. There is a lot of open seating and various vendors with all sorts of delicious eats and treats to partake in. Matter of fact there are 18 different culinary options. PRO TIP: If you're going on the weekend, get there early to grab and chair and tabletop. The staff is super attentive and it's incredible people-watching. PRO TIP 2: There are not a lot of vegan options but some dishes and plates can be veganized, just ask the vendor from one of the many options. Some nights there are live bands or beer yoga! and other special events so check out their website. I really enjoyed Mercado 60 and can't wait to go back for more eats and cold beers. read more

Great concept, but it just falls way short. My wife had a disappointingly bland burger and I had some mediocre mini arepas. Drinks tasted like they skipped the liquor all together, so we switched to beers. The band playing live music stuck to American cover songs. Mexico is so full of life and colors!! This comes more to life in Mercado 60 in Mérida. Went there with the husband to try some Mexican must haves including the chilaquiles and a taco platter. There are options from other cuisines as well such as pizzas and gyros to choose from. The food tasted great, so much so, that we went back for some American food the next night. The ambience is like any food markets with great live music and let's of people chatter. I would recommend this place in case you are bored with Mexican street food! read more

This place is awesome! We came back twice during our few days in Merida. It's open air, food court style but with a fun, hip vibe (the first time we went, it was dark and everyone working there was dressed up for Day of the Dead, and the second time there was a live band playing) and upscale semi-gourmet food. They have everything from burgers to sushi to ribs etc but we stuck with the Mexican food (which is what I suggest doing) and had the most amazing quesadilla I've ever had (it had chicken and peppers and was grilled on the outside - look for this one as there are many here) as well as great guacamole and tacos. Man, I have such mixed feelings on the location. The setup and gathering of different options was amazing. Sadly, the food quality and flavor were really lacking. We visited for dinner one evening while on vacation. We sat at a table and a server grabbed us drinks. The prices were higher if a server got you the same item you could have grabbed yourself. How that works was not clear. I stopped at the burger spot in the back and the burrito place. I dont recall the particular items we ordered, but I do recall that neither of them had much flavor. The food looked good, but lacked flavor and seasoning. The location was great and it seemed like a really modern and trendy spot, but the prices were higher than normal for the area. Updating my review for several reasons. I like the general ambience here but the quality of food has dropped severely and this reflects my experience as a whole. Firstly, this is supposed to be semi-gourmet food. In all reality, it's simply overpriced. There is nothing unique here, and the items offered by the various restaurants are less than exciting. Of the ones that seem exciting, it's all hype. I used to go here and enjoy quality food in the first year it opened. Now, it's fakeness. Of the three favorite places I had here, two are gone and the other has significantly lowered the quality of their product. The craft beer place is gone. There is an owner/manager who is always walking around micro-managing things and making it an uncomfortable experience. Only a fool would continue going here expecting something good - I won't be one of them. This was the last time I'll be going there. Poncho y Chel's should also be ashamed of themselves for using watered-down BBQ sauce (it used to be amazing, I've eaten there at least 20 times). They should also be ashamed of the pathetic parmasean cheese they use as a substitute for what was once fresh, and for the fact that their fries no longer have truffle oil but are still advertised as such. Mercado 60 in general is a fad. I know I'm not the first to realize that the quality has changed to something unacceptable. Clearly staying alive based on old reviews because there's really no reason to eat here anymore. It might be a good place to go if you enjoy a bad selection of overpriced drinks and occasional live music. read more

We were in Merida for a week, and visited Mercado 60 three times during our stay. Fun and family friendly atmosphere. We had our 1yr old daughter and she loved the atmosphere:). The food was all good. The burgers were good, I ordered mine well done and it was still moist and well cooked. We were even surprised that the Bbcue was good too, tangy flavor, and the sushi was not the best we've had, but certainly was descent for fast service sushi. Fun bar options and desserts as well. I'm from California so for me, I had no issue with the prices they seemed cheap to us because well anything is cheaper than San Diego. read more

Great casual spot in Merida, although it's very touristy. Most of the clientele were tourists and very few locals. It's not a farmers market, but more like food stands with an array choices from tacos to ramen. The food, drinks, service - all great. Don't come here for food. Although it's no more EXPENSIVE than most dining options in Merida, I wouldn't say that it's the same quality you'd find if you just went to a restaurant. Really it's a food hall experience ( a glam word for food court these days) that's outdoors, has live music, and creates an even livelier atmosphere. You'll see young people from the nearby hostels to married couples here, strangers all dancing and socializing the night away. That Latin culture of socializing between all the generations has always been something I really enjoy. It was THE most happening spot in terms of dancing and live music we saw while in Merida. This place was appealing for the ability to sit outside and cater to different tastes amongst our party. However, the disappointing service, terrible food and lack of availability of items on the menu made it a disappointing experience. We waited over 1.5 hr for our food which arrived cold. When we told them they offered to reheat which took another 15 minutes and came back at the same temperature. It also tasted terrible. We asked at each bar for red and white wine and were told there wasn't any. However when we asked again why the table beside us had wine, we were told that they did have wine. Mercado 60 is AWESOME!!!! A great spot to eat and drink & listen to live bands of many styles depending on the schedule. We've gone twice and hope to go again! Love the amazing murals and set-up as it's like a little community of eclectic restaurants and bars you can choose from. The service is fantastic and for convenience you get a pager for your order so you can continue to socialize while waiting for your food. A good place to spend few hours in the evening. There is live music and a good number of restaurants. We got food from the sushi place and Ice cream. The only downside was our experience at the wine bar Taninos. The server could not find the bottle of sparkling wine that we wanted to buy and then he went to help other customers with their drinks. When we visited in 2017 this was one of our favorite hang-outs. One year later we came and it has completely changed. The vibe is flat, and on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) --we rated our food a 4. We ordered from two different kitchens-- an Argentine steak place and one serving Mayan foods. No bueno. Thinking it was an off night we asked a local. I asked them to make it a bit stronger after I found it bland when I tasted it. They just blew me off. This place is more like a food court. How can you get quality meals from stalls? Mercado 60 is a hidden gem! Set back off the main road in downtown Merida. A huge open air courtyard with seating, market lights and a stage for live entertainment. Not your typical Merida eatery...looks more like a chic food court where hipsters go to drink over priced micro brews. But, yet again you will be pleasantly surprised. You'll find a dozen or so food booths with everything from Yucatan cuisine to sushi. I opted for a choose your own stir fry which was fresh and delicious. Others ordered a Yucatan platter and a Lettuce wrapped burger. Each of our entrées averaged about $7 USD. Cocktails and beverages were top notch. Literally the best Pina Colada I've ever had was $3 USD. Hard to top? Try adding a great live band. A full 5 piece band with a smoky alto singer sang some Latin songs mixed in with some John Mayer, Maroon 5 and more. The entire experience was like being in Soho or West Hollywood but for mere pesos. Found this place, which just recently opened, and what a find it is! A very cool, very hip place. To the uninitiated it maybe "just a food court", but they are oh so wrong. This is so much more and would cause a stir in any trendy city. Add to it that is in the tropics and it's a recipe for fantastic. The food from the various restaurants is all excellent -- in my 2 trips there I have tried the bar (naturally), the flautas place, the grill (Pancho y Chel's and the burger place, and the fish tacos -- and everything was wonderfully delicious. We especially liked the elote from Panchos and the burgers. My only criticism, and this is oh so minor, they need to be more generous with the napkins...the food is too fantastic and you go through them too quickly! You really need to add this to your itinerary when you visit Merida! read more
