Yikes. I have been in twice in the last two weeks. I live here and wanted to introduce friends to one of my favorite places in town. The front of house is spectacular both over the phone for reservations and especially in person, buenisima! However, both dinners recently had a real attitude from a couple of the male servers. Last night we had decent service until the end of the evening when a younger server with glasses came over and slammed the bill on the table and in English said "We are closing. Here is your check." Granted, we were there too late but I expect better service here and certainly a more appropriate approach. He then took it upon himself to split the bill in half for 3 people and was frustrated when we were trying to figure out why it wasn't adding up. Finally, if we conducted the entire meal in Spanish sin problemas no need to come to us in English to rudely evict us.

This is the type of restaurant that you visit for an experience... not only the food and drinks. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed and given the proper amount of time to just take in the vibe. The service here by the lovely Alexandra was on point!! Her recommendations and attentive nature were Fire! The food program is something to take your time with.. as is the beverage menu. Let them lead you and you will not be disappointed. The bone marrow was the best I have tried and the octopus was superb. We are still talking about it today. Great place to spend a few hours. Highly recommend a reso Thanks again Alexandra

Delicious food. A highlight of our trip. Must go! Had the fish tacos and it was delish.

We enjoyed Macaela! We tried everything new this time. It was all good! It's hard to beat the pulpo and camarones, though. Love their cocktails and Mexican wine.

We had dinner at Micaela Mar & Lena when we were in Merida for a few days last week and had a great experience. The restaurant is really cool - cool decor, cool music, cool menu. The location is great - very nearby the Paseo de Montejo, surrounded by other restaurants and bars. The service was great (our service was really friendly and helpful), too! We shared several dishes: green ceviche made with fish (marinated with lemon, jalapeno, and avocado); esquite with added bone marrow; and dry noodles (fideo) with quesillo burrata and a chipotle/tomato sauce (with added shrimp, as recommended). Their menu is really cool - a little traditional coastal Mexican with a little fusion thrown in! Everything tasted great. We also ordered a few drinks, which were great as well. Overall, it was a fun, delicious, and interesting meal. I'd be happy to eat here again!

Food good, drinks good, ambiance good. It was our first meal so not a lot to compare it to, but was more like American prices, not Mexican. Good for a dinner out with friends as it was a cute place with nice service and there's a menu in English as well.

Overview: Expensive for Mexico, good but not great food, good service, good drinks Food: The food was above average but by no means exceptional. I had the short rib with mole sauce. It was tender but not exceptional. Also, it was slightly over salted. Drinks: Excellent cocktails with some creative flavor combinations Service: Above average service for Merida Price: Expensive for Merida, about $100 U.S. for a dinner for 2 with drinks (no appetizers or desserts).

Very nice restaurant! Service was fantastic and the food was amazing! Servers speak English and they do have an English menu. They do seem to cater to expats and travelers, so the price is a little higher than what you would normally pay in Mexico, but the service was worth it.

If I could give it more stars I would. Our server Miguel was amazing, very kind and described the food and made the perfect recommendations for my husband and I. Exceptional food very unique and the ambience is spectacular. The drinks are delicious and the entire night was perfecto! We will be back!

I was served the wrong dish, and when I politely brought it to the waiter's attention, I was told there was nothing that could be done and that I still had to pay for it. The meal was boxed up for me without offering a replacement or any solution. When it came time to pay, the credit card machine was handed to my husband for the tip, which felt awkward and dismissive given the situation. The food itself was also underwhelming. I asked about adjusting the seasoning and was told it wasn't possible. The flavors were not what I expected, and having eaten at restaurants all over the world, this meal fell well below that standard. For a restaurant that presents itself as service-oriented and welcoming, especially to visitors, this experience was surprising and disappointing.

My nieces frequent Chichi regularly and they like it. This is a seafood restaurant with extensive menu with meat and other options. If you're a vegan like me, you'r options are limited but not impossible. The bay windows open and if you're seated by them you have a grandiose view everything going on the boardwalk and the beach. If you didn't want to eat in the restaurant but wanted to eat on the beach under a Palapa - thatched umbrella dining table, and if there was space available, the Palapa it is. The service is slightly slow but for a Saturday afternoon it's expected with a full dining room. There are make shift box fans spread out in the dining area and each table is equipped with mosquito fan and a purse stand. As a vegan, I ordered the guacamole minus cheese and minus Chicharrones. The guacamole was fresh and the habanero salsa options at the table SLAP!! There were four options with the black one - fiery spicy but had a tremendous amount of flavor. Even though it's fiery spicy it's not overbearing for me. The rice and fried banana plate needed to be clarified before final ordering but I was told that there was not any animal products in my dish. The SOL cerveza was ice cold and was continually replenished. The rice and fried banana plate arrived and it was good not great but good. Everyone else's dishes and were plated with care. My nieces enjoyed their dishes as well. Can Chichi be a tourist trap ? Maybe but we were a party of 7 with apps, entrees, drinks, and deserts for $200. All in all it was a great Saturday lunch that left us full for the rest of the.
