We got a glass of chilean merlot and a glass of argentian malbec, 120 pesos each which isnt bad considering the wines came in prime condition. The menu items seemed a little pricier than other places you might see but it is a bit of a swankier place. We came at lunch and they had a very pleasant blend of tasteful 80's music at a good loudness level. We came past lunch on a hot day so there were more servers here than patrons but thats ok by us. We ordered a soupa de lima and a risotto al vino blanco. We came in hot and the AC was mild so it took a little while for us to cool down. The food was only ok. The salsas fell kind of flat, like they could have added more salt. If you are into thick tortilla chils, their blue corn ones would be a trear, nice and crunchy. I like them more thin and crispy. The sooa de lime, their chicken lime soup, was kind of not that chickeny in the broth, the meat was shredded amd while generous somewhat dry. There was way more red bell pepper than I've seen before i soups like this and they saturated it with tortilla strips, which again could be great if you like those. I prefer them as just a few per bowl. It also was very light in lime, leaving it without the characteristic zing Ive come to love in this soup. Overall I would not recommend this soup. The risotto was basically a mushroom risotto, very appropriate textures though it seemed to have a bit more cheese than I expected. Still it was served at the right texture and thickness, and if you like mushroom risotto this wont blow your mind but its good for what it is. I'm not a risotto guy, my wife ordered that one. She said it wasnt bad but probably would not order it again. Overall this place seems like a great place for drinks, but given the price was high and the food wasnt even average for the area, we probably wont try it again until we've done most of the many other restaurants in the area. My friend ordered the grilled fish with rice, pickled carrots, onions and sauces. Both were delicious. We also had nice drinks, red wine sangria, and beer. What was perhaps the best feature of the place is the excellent waitstaff who are bilingual, who are helpful with making you feel comfortable, who provide charming conversation and tips, and who are generally well trained in hospitality. Such a far cry from the dour and arrogant wait staff typically found in Washington DC restaurants. This is a good place for a quiet escape from the plaza crowd.

If you didn't want to eat in the restaurant but wanted to eat on the beach under a Palapa - thatched umbrella dining table, and if there was space available, the Palapa it is. The service is slightly slow but for a Saturday afternoon it's expected with a full dining room. There are make shift box fans spread out in the dining area and each table is equipped with mosquito fan and a purse stand. As a vegan, I ordered the guacamole minus cheese and minus Chicharrones. The guacamole was fresh and the habanero salsa options at the table SLAP!! There were four options with the black one - fiery spicy but had a tremendous amount of flavor. Even though it's fiery spicy it's not overbearing for me. The rice and fried banana plate needed to be clarified before final ordering but I was told that there was not any animal products in my dish. The SOL cerveza was ice cold and was continually replenished. The rice and fried banana plate arrived and it was good not great but good. Everyone else's dishes and were plated with care.
