Brought my wedding dress here for alterations. It needed to be hemmed a little bit. My dress was…read morefairly simple, with only two layers of fabric and a shorter train. This was not a lace dress or one multiple layers of tulle/ballgown style. Unfortunately, when I picked up the dress, it was way too short and you could see the tops of my toes. I wore the same heels for the appointment where they pinned the dress for hemming and when I picked it up after it was hemmed. The dress was over hemmed by approximately two inches. I went from wearing a pair of 3.5 inch heels to having to find a pair of kitten heels in order to make things work. This was very disappointing. While I voiced my concerns of "is this too short?" in the store, I didn't really raise a fuss. I had to pay when I dropped the dress off, before the work was done, so it was already paid for....and what would the solution be, anyway? The fabric can't be put back on once it's cut off. I am, however, giving two stars instead of zero because the service was fast with a quick turnaround to pick up my dress, and overall reasonably priced.

The alterations were a struggle and did not accomplish what was asked. When she brought the dress back for her wedding in Naples, she could hardly wear it for more that an hour. In one day, Meg at Loretta completely remade the dress as it was originally intended. It fit beautifully and my daughter wore it the entire evening. I cannot say enough about Loretta Bridal. So kind. She told my daughter she wanted her to be happy. Five stars is not enough.

The retail price was stated as $598, and I was told I was receiving 25% off because the dress was off the rack, bringing the price to $475. Since I live in Michigan, I brought the gown home for alterations locally. When I picked the dress up from my seamstress on May 20, 2026, I noticed the original tag attached to the gown stated: "Instore gown $425 - Take home today." I immediately contacted the store and provided a photo of the tag, simply requesting a refund of the $50 difference. Unfortunately, instead of resolving what seemed like a straightforward issue, my concern was dismissed because several weeks had passed -- despite the fact that I informed Loretta the dress had been with my seamstress during that time. I was also told my seamstress "took too long," even though the alterations were completed exactly within the timeline I requested for my daughter's wedding. I was offered possible store credit instead of a refund, which is not practical given that I live in Michigan and have no reason to shop there again. I also never received documentation confirming any store credit. Loretta's unprofessional email response to my request for the $50 credit provided no offer of store credit and attacked me personally. The boutique itself has beautiful gowns, but my experience with customer service was disappointing. Basic customer service principles such as responsiveness, empathy, accountability, and consistency matter just as much as the product itself.

I called many bridal stores in this region and extremely fortunately, fell upon Kelly Chase Couture. The first person I talked to was Chase and he was wonderful. After talking a bit, I found out that Kelly had gone to Fashion design school with Randy from "Say Yes to the Dress." I was so excited to help my daughter to make her bridal appointment. When we arrived we were greeted with so much professionalism mixed with amazing kindness and courtesy. Even though we brought too many people with us to the appointment, all were treated with great thoughtfulness. But Kelly and Maria had such a special way of working with the entourage and while extending thoughfulness to all, they always made sure that every moment was all about the bride and also with me as the Mom of the Bride. At one point she called the Bride and myself away to talk separately about possible final choices...She is a genius!! In the end my daughter and I had a bridal and Mom of the Bride experience that far outshined any episode of "Say Yes to the Dress." I am so very happy that I found this beautful place that is so close to home. I had very happy tears from the moment I walked in to the Salon! Next stop Mother of the Bride appointment this Friday for my dress and back to back appointments for my dughter's bridal veil and accessories. And no entourage this time just the BRIDE and her MOM! I loved the selections so much that I ended up buying BOTH of my Mother-of-the-Bride dresses at Kelly Chase Couture. Kelly is so very talented. Her designs are unique and varied. Styles range from traditional to contemporary, and everything in between. Since most, if not all, of her dresses are made to order, many of her designs are customizable. What I loved the most about working with Kelly was not only that she is so talented, but she is also the most caring and kind person. She truly wants each item she creates to make the person wearing it feel beautiful and special...and I did!! Her seamstress does spectacular alterations , she definitely has a magic touch. Kelly also designs wedding gowns, and the most beautiful line of beaded evening bags. She recently began designing a line of separates that are great for holiday and other special occasions. They are all off-the-rack so what you try on is what you buy, one dress had pulled beads, another had a snag in the fabric making it appear bunched up. This would be okay if the dresses were discounted but they aren't.. I found much more beautiful and custom dresses elsewhere for the same price. Rating 2 stars instead of 1 because the woman who did help me was kind and tried very hard to find me something I liked and I appreciated that.
