She was extremely professional, upbeat, and knowledgeable in finding just the right dress for me. This review requires an explanation. My review of the store was done already and it was truly wonderful. My issue is with what happens with alterations. I used the seamstress recommended by the store. They require you to sign that you understand that the seamstress is not part of their company and they are not liable for any issues. Now I understand why. I was the Mother of the Groom. My gown needed alterations and I gave the seamstress one instruction - take it in from the back. Instead she decided to alter the sides, made a total mess of it and when I asker her to fix it she said she couldn't. I involved Loretta who is the owner and I went back four times, the last one the day of the wedding, and it was no better. I was hysterical crying. I had no choice but to take the dress, as it was....and it was not inexpensive. When I went to get dressed for the wedding, my husband, who normally notices nothing said "what's the matter with your dress?" The wedding was beautiful, but I wasn't. It colored my entire day. After the wedding, I contacted the owner, Loretta, and she asked me to bring in the dress. I did, along with a photo my friend had taken. Loreta took one look and said "Oh Boy". It was decided by Loretta and her husband that they were going to fix it. I told them not to bother because I have no more events where I could wear it. They said it was fixed when I picked it up and I don't even know how it looks because I couldn't bring myself to put it on again. So now it will sit in the closet forever. I made it very clear from the beginning that I felt I should get a monetary reimbursement. I own my own business and I have to make it right with my clients no matter who made the mistake. Why did the seamstress do alterations that were the direct opposite of what I directed her to do? What I finally got was equal to less than what I had paid for one quarter of the cost of the alterations. So, if you buy a dress at Laura Jacobs Bridal, please take it somewhere else for alterations. Loretta is a very smart business woman. She knew how unhappy I was with the amount I was given. My last comment, made through my tears was that when you allow someone to work on your premises, you are tacitly recommending them, but I signed a piece of paper and that was it. So no matter what happens, I will never be recommending the store to anyone. read more

I purchased a Martina Liana gown from Laura Jacobs back in June 2018 while on vacation with my family who live in Ft. Myers. My wedding was November 9, 2019, which was a bit early to be shopping for a dress, but with a hectic work schedule I wasn't sure when the next opportunity would be to shop with my Mom, Dad and now Mother-in-Law. From the start, the consultants in the shop were so nice and helpful! They were not pushy at all and chose dresses for me to try based on my preferences. We told them our budget and when my father chose a gown off the rack that was over our budget, our consultant showed him the price tag before letting me try it on to ensure he was okay with the price before putting it on me. He confirmed that he was okay with the price and then when I put it on we ALL knew it was the PERFECT dress for me! We ordered my dress and veil right then and there and were quickly on our way to celebrate with a mimosa next door. A few months later I returned to pick up my gown, which was a little large on me, but to be expected as they choose a size based on your largest body part (mine being my bust). I lost about 20lbs over the next 7 months and started to become quite worried about beginning my alterations. Sadly, I could not have my alterations done at Laura Jacobs since I live on the East coast of FL and work 6 days per week, so I took my dress to another bridal shop near my home. HUGE MISTAKE! But how could I have known?! Needless to say, after three fittings, it was the end of October, only 10 days until my wedding day and my wedding dress did not fit me properly, even though I had not lost any weight during my fittings. The other shop refused to perform additional alterations to make it fit me better and would not give me my dress without paying them. My mom and I were so distraught. We called Laura Jacobs and spoke to the owner, Loretta, who we told what had happened. She was so sweet and accommodating! She re-assured us everything would be okay and had us come in as soon as I arrived to Ft. Myers on the Monday of my wedding week to take a look at my dress. She admitted to me that the other shop charged us an obscene amount of money for very poor alterations and bustling, but said she would do everything in her power to make my dress fit me comfortably. This wasn't an easy task as the entire top of my dress was HUGE on me and the sides needed inches taken in. Loretta took my dress to her HOME that Monday and had me return Wednesday afternoon to try it on. It fit like a glove! And she even fixed my entire bustle! I WAS SO HAPPY I WAS IN TEARS! Literally! After everything we had just experienced with the other store, we were so happy with how kind and caring Laura Jacobs was with us. She literally saved my wedding dress! She will forever be my fairy godmother. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS, Laura Jacobs! I will never forget all you did for us. You have my highest recommendation! read more

Absolutely adore the ladies that work here. Unfortunately you have to wear a mask while you're trying on wedding dresses. But you can take it off when you're alone in the dressing room which is fine with me I understand they wanna be cautious. They are so kind and courteous, they were willing to work with me when I didn't have a full payment for my wedding dress. Overall I would say I would recommend this place! read more

Pretty disappointed in the professionalism of this bridal shop. Positives: -Offered us a 10% discount on the bridesmaid dress we were ordering Negatives: -were promised an in-store date of 8/30 with communication on when our dresses would ship out *as of 9/6 we received no update. friend called and said the dresses arrived that day and would be shipped out that day *as of 9/13 dresses still were not received. when we called we were told dresses arrived that day (??) and would ship out in next day or two *dresses finally arrived on 9/23... less than 2 wks from wedding date....never received promised shipment e-mail to track either -when friend called on 9/6 for an update they said they didn't know they were shipping the dresses out (?!) when they not only took down all of our shipping addressees but also charged us $25 to ship out of state. They also had the wrong wedding date listed that multiple of us corrected on different occasions which may have been the reason our dresses were so late? Just overall they seem really unorganized. We all ordered from this shop because they promised a significantly earlier arrival date than our local shops for the dresses and we were cutting it close to the wedding date (not including alterations). The lack of communication and concern for addressing customers is my biggest issue here. Under promise over deliver is the motto!! and if you have setbacks or delays communicate to the customer! I sent them an e-mail over a week ago and never heard back. All the service reps I interacted with were very friendly and pleasant but at the end of the day they seem to kind of forget about you once your card was swiped. That being said no issues with the dress itself (although my friend was sent the wrong size).... and despite having to pay an expedited alterations fee with my tailor-all is well that ends well? I would only recommend them if you aren't on a time crunch & don't mind staying on top of the communication with them...I'd never return my business though. read more

I had an amazing experience here! All of the staff are super knowledgeable and professional. The store is clean and welcoming for the wedding party to watch you try on gowns as well. Jackie was my consultant and made my wedding dress shopping experience AMAZING. She definitely knows bridal. They have a good selection of dresses for all body types. Long story short, owner was great. Tailor was extremely rude. For example, she told me and my friend to not speak Spanish, horrible attitude, very defensive . Sells person Barb was very snobby and rude, even worst than the tailor because her job as a sales person is to have good customer service. Instead of trying to smooth things down and trying to apologies for unfair treatment I was given, she care around to make it worst by being very very snobby. I'm just so out of words they can control that ugly attitude with most people. I did witness Barb being a totally different person when Laura was present. Just feel sad for how there are people like that they feel they can talk to others just because of their persecution or who knows their reasoning behind it . Otherwise, beautiful dresses, and I love my dress. I would totally recommend the store due to the dresses but be aware. read more
