The drink selection is very good and the ambiance is very nice. My only complaint was the level of service I received. It was myself and two other tourists there, and the waiter was too busy entertaining his friends and checking on others that he completely ignored us. We attempted to get his attention on several occasions to get our bill because we had to leave, and from the time we initially got his attention to the time we paid our bill and left, was approximately 20 minutes. I felt that the service could have been a lot better.

I prefer wine, but must admit cocktails are good as well. The name M&V goes back to the historic Hamburg distillery "Mulzer&Voelkel" established in 1924. M&V is on the Hamburg List of Gay Bars. Located on lively "Lange Reihe" it has been open to everyone since 1953. Some visitors complain it looks more like a Hetero bar nowadays. I am not the one too judge, as I never witnessed the glory of the place in 60s. I like how it is now with all the friendly locals, an admirable place of tolerance.

Upon entering it became immediately obvious that Toom-Peerstall is a gay bar, and quite a popular one at that - the place was packed! I wouldn't normally frequent such a place (not being gay and all), but I have to say that it's a pretty cool and friendly little bar.
