The drink selection is very good and the ambiance is very nice. My only complaint was the level of service I received. It was myself and two other tourists there, and the waiter was too busy entertaining his friends and checking on others that he completely ignored us. We attempted to get his attention on several occasions to get our bill because we had to leave, and from the time we initially got his attention to the time we paid our bill and left, was approximately 20 minutes. I felt that the service could have been a lot better.

Heute der 06.05.2010 war ich im Wunderbar, ehrlich gesagt, der Name steht dieses Lokal viel so groß. Erstens war es so gut wie leer, das heißt 5 Gäste waren da von 22:00 bis 00:30, danach habe ich das Lokal verlassen. Zweitens, finde ich ehrlich gesagt eine ganz dumme Sache, dass sie am Fenster einen "Raucherkneipe" darauf geklebt haben, aber sobald dass man rauchen möchte, wird man von dem "Barkeeper" nach draußen geschickt, da es nicht erlaubt zu rauchen ist. Zu meiner Frage, wieso denn der Aufkleber auf Fenster, antwortete er nur eine Reihe von sinlosen Argumenten. Es tut mir leid aber nach dem Besuch stelle ich mich andere Namen für diese Kneipe, ich glaube statt "Wunderbar", "Schrecklich" würde besser passen!! read more

Irgendwie ist die WunderBar ein tolles Feier-Wohnzimmer, lauschig, etwas plüschig und am Wochenende gibt es immer Party, genau die richtige Location, um am Wochenende zu feiern. Aufgeschlossene Leute fast jeder Altersstufe, Jungs, Männer, Kerle - und fröhliche Musik auf Hamburgs wohl kleinster und buntester Tanzfläche. read more

I dropped into WunderBar on a late Friday night (around 2.30). A grotesque fair, the music choice was barely alright, we had barely the place to move, let alone to dance, and the surroundings are at least dubious. The only good side, it certainly isn't in the gay mainstream/fashionista style ! read more

Somehow made it to this bar after meeting some Germans and a visiting American at Goldfisch in…read moreSternschanze. It's in kind of a boring neighborhood, but the bar is really cool. The ceilings are vaulted brick which gives it a fun churchy-bar atmosphere. The DJ played everyone's favorite hip hop and R&B hits from the 90s-00s, and everyone was really getting into it. There's no coat check but there are tons of pegs on the wall where everyone's coats were lined up like at school. Above the coat rack is a narrow shelf to set your drink when you're finished. There's an upstairs area with seating and foosball and (surprisingly) clean bathrooms. I didn't pay for my drinks (hooray for boobies!) but I don't think a typical long drink would exceed 9 euros. Tons of fun, lots of people dancing, only thing I didn't like was the downstairs floor has a weird 2 inch drop once you step away from the bar. Precarious if you're carrying shots.

Both times I've gone, it was to see a band who I had no idea who they were so that is why I can only comment on the layout. Both times, the concerts were packed and it became difficult to breathe, not to mention dance. The concert hall is of medium size but it seems they're booking artists which draw in a larger crowd than they can handle. I'm not complaining - I had a wonderful time on both occasions and the smoking ban in the hall itself is a blessed change.
