Working towards the cut!

Valentine is a fantastic Tailor and the vision he has for his salon is a place where guys can just be guys. He goes through your whole look with you which at least, helps you feel reassured that he knows exactly what he is doing. Its a relaxing atmosphere and he serves coffee or water or sometimes has a particularly great tea he has picked up from his travels down in Nicaragua. I grew up skating (Skateboarding), and also sells excellent skateboard decks and paraphernalia. As far as service goes, Valentine knows his stuff and has referred me to great products, or health practices to take care of my hair beard and skin.

AH.... I wish they did women's hair here... My coworker found this place when he was doing an online search. My son has really curly hair, which everyone in the past has been able to ruin. That is until... VALENTINES! It is official. I will never take my son anywhere else. The service is more than anyone could ask for. It is no wonder they won Best of Western Washington!! I continue to refer every man I know to this place. Another thing I really like is that they are very flexible as far as getting appointments in, I usually take Isaiah on Sunday's, and they are always able to get him in. I am going to their Best of Western Washington celebration this weekend...

Whooaaaa you fancy huh?

Excellent work by Lavenzzi for the haircut and beard. Never going back to big chains for haircuts again.

Ask the Community - Men's Hair Tailor

I'm a 50 y/o male growing my hair out. It's almost to my shoulders now and starting to bulk out and curl weirdly. Is there a stylist at Valentine's that specializes in men-with-long-hair cuts? If so, who should I ask for?

Ask for Nikki. She's the best!

I was originally looking for a place for my mom to get a color and cut - she needed grey coverage…read moreand a trim for dead ends. Hazel was able to take me at the same time, which worked out perfectly. Neither of us felt rushed or like an afterthought, which I've definitely experienced before when stylists take two clients at once and it turns into chaos. My mom has a language barrier so I was translating throughout the consultation, and Hazel was patient the whole way through. She even introduced herself in Japanese which was a sweet touch that didn't go unnoticed! My hair situation: flat, lifeless, and a previous stylist in Seattle had somehow given me a blunt length cut after I explicitly asked for a ton of layers. I have basically zero attachment to my hair - I would happily walk out with a mullet - so when a stylist actually listens during the consultation it makes a real difference. Hazel asked the right questions and the result showed it. Dry cut, tons of layers, styled dry so I could see the shape come together in real time. Walked out with volume I didn't know my hair was capable of. The salon is a nice airy space with big windows, way more relaxed than your average spot. One of the other stylists has a dog that hangs around - great bonus if you're into that. Already booked and attended my second appointment. I know I'll be back for more.

It's a nice, comfortable, clean, environment and street parking is usually easy. As a bonus, it sits next to the Greenwood Post Office and the very excellent Coyle's bakery. Greenwood is one of my favorite street in Seattle! Do check out Mercury and Greenwood Avenue.
