I try not to get a haircut when I am out of town, but today I had to and the first barber that…read morepopped up on Yelp was Jeff's. I have been to the shop across the street before (review is on Yelp) , but it did not appear open at 0900 when I arrived. I searched the map and found Jeff's, however, the actual barber shop was hard to find. I found a hair salon at 62 S. Broadway and was willing to give it a try. The door was locked so I decided to look elsewhere for a haircut. As I was leaving I noticed a barber pole on the back (West) side of the building. This is where Jeff's is located. Once you figure that out, it is worth it. Jeff has been in the community a long time. His barbershop is quaint but nice. He is a friend of the military and with my $2 discount, my flat top cost $10. The company was good. The haircut was good. If I am in Peru and need a trim, I will definitely return to Jeff's.

Greg is a Terrible barber. Doesn't know anything about fades or parts. Even though I asked him. He…read moreshould just say I don't know or I don't do fades. I should my picture from before with my haircut, and he said he could do it. He botched my hair and took my money. He only used clippers with one hand no scissors no shavers. I told him to stay away from my beard and sideburns and he messed them up to. And he still took my money. He kept telling me "that's how it is, what else you me to do". If you have never done it before just say so. Stick with old people haircuts. Greg doesn't know how to fade or blend in hair. I went to another barber to fix (salvage) my hair right after I walked out of his shop. He basically spent 8 minutes on my hair and took my money.

There's no judgement for being a female in a barbershop (which was really cool and not what I expected.) Even the other male customers were really cool and made me feel cool for having an undercut. However, I usually only have a day or 2 notice or sometimes require a walk-in, but Crystal is a great men's stylist in high demand. I was relieved when I called Tuesday afternoon because I was able to make an appointment for Thursday with Raena, a new stylist under Crystal's wing. She did a fantastic job! At the end, Crystal made sure to come check her work and share her tips of the trade so Raena was able to bring it to perfection with a few more snips. She's a talented stylist and fast learner who I recommend! Details: After 40 minutes I was just as satisfied with my fade cut and beard trim as ever and the $15.00 price can't be beat so I tipped $20 cash on top! FYI cost of quality comparison: In Denver: I pay $35 haircut + $25 for straight razor shave plus tip for 60-90 minute appointment.
