A real barbershop- kind of I needed a cut really bad, just haven't been feeling the shop I normally go to anymore. I stumbled across Menifee Barber Shop at just the right time. Although the place looked very busy with every chair filled and several waiting. I signed in without a specific barber and was called upon in just a few minutes, I guess everyone else was waiting for someone specific. Lulu cut my hair yet never picked up scissors so I think she is just a stylist and not a real barber. The cut was just fine but what I noticed was her amazing smile that never departed from her face. I should have known better when a customer earlier came back to have her fix his haircut that she messed up on. Roman did such a great job on my son's hair. We went in the day before and left unsatisfied from another barber, asked for a fade and ended up with a harsh line and found patches of long hair behind his ears. Went back the next day and Roman confidently assured me he'd get him all fixed up and he definitely did. He was so patient with my son and took his time. I looked them up here on Yelp and they sounded like a good choice. It was about 4:15, and they close at 5:00, so I tried calling them and it went to voicemail. So I drove there and walked in, it was almost 4:30, and they said they were all done for the day. They asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for the next morning, and I said no. I started to leave and they said "come back tomorrow!" But I didn't. I think they should change their hours to reflect when they stop taking customers, rather than when they want to leave the building. I probably won't be back, because the next place I went took great care of me. No idea if they are good with haircuts. It does have a hip youthful vibe, though, despite being around for a while in Sun City, which is basically a 50+ community. YMMV. read more

Haven't gotten around to sitting down and writing a review. We came here a second time to get my 3-year-old son a haircut. We had a great experience last time so we came back. Unfortunately, we had such an opposite experience this time around :/ the barber we got did not know what he was doing. I showed him a picture of a crew cut, short on the side and longer on the top. He didn't know what a crew cut was so I showed him the picture on Google. He said okay and did his thing. 1 and 1/2 in on the side and longer on top but then when he got to the top. He asked do you want me to cut it with scissor or clip? Um... I usually trust barbers because I assume they would know what they're doing. Also, why ask me?? I don't know... cut with a scissor or clip as long as the hairstyle comes out great. I'm not the professional in haircutting and styling here. I mistakenly said clip and he said oh I only have the 1 in clip here. But proceeded to cut the top part. Long story short we walked out of there and then had to come back to get it fixed. Asking any barber here - do you usually leave the top part shorter than the sides? Is this something you'd suggest or let alone just do without considering what's best for your customer? It was BAD! This would have been a 1 star or 0 star experience. Bless you, Menifee Barber for hiring an amazing human and barber like Isabel. She helped fix my son's hair. Apologized to us and helped us out. Been coming here for three years and have always had a good experience with a haircut. For the very first time, came in recently to get a line up as I'd just gotten a full cut a few days prior and wanted to look my best for a wedding. Why is a full hair cut $25 dollars and a line up is $20? Make that make sense. You're spending 20-30 minutes on a full cut and 3-6 minutes on a line up. I understand barbers in California are a different breed and want to charge in the $50+ range, but that's wild. read more

Came in for a quick cut and showed them pics of what I usually look like since my barber was out with a broken leg. They do my same cut on a lot of guys so I figured it was no problem judging by their Yelp photos. The guy totally f'ed my hair up. It looked like it was done with a weed wacker. He gave me these long uneven bangs that were lower on one side, my hair was sticking up in the back, he gave me some box cut on the backside. $18 for an awful kids cut. Don't go here if you're African American. Young lady cut my sons hair in 10 minutes. Terrible fade that was not blended. Also didn't line up the front or temples. I asked for a 1 on top with the grain and a bald fade. She went against the grain anyways. I gave her a $5 tip but I won't return. Rushing the service is always bad. It is now 12:57pm on Sunday August 4th and fuck am I pissed off! The wait time was not bad, but the barber who cut my hair, is another story. I did not get his name but he is the young guy with the long curly hair who's chair is right next to the seating area (where there are two or three barber chairs). I told him exactly what I wanted and unfortunately he managed to messed it all up. 1st was my line up. He didn't get that right. 2nd my sideburns, which he made uneven in every aspect, both size and width. 3rd is my haircut on top, I let him know that i wanted it very short and just slightly longer in the front. As I comb my hair all to the front and up in the front. For some reason he stopped cutting at least and inch back from the front. Even after showing me in the mirror and me having to tell him twice he still did not get it right. By that time I was frustrated so I paid and left. But honestly I will not be coming back. this bad haircut has made sure of that. My suggestion to other is to make sure you know who is cutting your hair, you don't want to end up disappointed like me. Oh yeah 4th and final thing, I also asked him to ad gel to my hair, which he did, but damn you would thing that they are charging him for it cause the amount he used on my hair was minimal to none.
