There were bare spots, as well as visible drip irrigation lines, and weeds sprouting up due to lack of mulch. I contacted two companies I had worked with before, but the cost was significantly more than expected, so I reached out to a couple of 4.8-5.0 star Yelp landscapers. One said they were out of state and no-serviced the request, but Maria of Sandoval Landscaping & Gardening got back to me the same evening that the bid request went out. She offered to meet me the next day to get an in-person look at the job and give me a quote. After looking at the backyard and seeing the mulch was actually pretty good there, I asked for her thoughts on only doing the front. Maria agreed the front definitely needed a new layer, but the back was in pretty good shape and didn't really need to be done right away or I could spot cover specific areas myself. The other two companies with higher prices quoted a new 1" layer, which seemed kind of thin - or at least would require another re-mulching sooner than what was ideal. But Maria and Armando said they'd apply 2-3", which seemed more in-line with what I was originally expecting in a re-mulch job. Even with that thicker coverage, their price was very reasonable, they could do the job the next day, and they'd also do a little bit of clearing of dead plant material as part of the job. Great! We agreed to move forward and she told me approximately when she and Armando would arrive the next day and roughly how long it would take. They showed up on time, got to work right away, and even did another mulch supply run when they realized the original load wouldn't be enough to cover the whole front yard. That impressed me - instead of just spreading out the original load thinner, they wanted to do the job to their high standards and just acquired more mulch. As you can see from the pics, they did a great job! Since I like to expose some of my more delicate tree trunk bases/root balls to the air (vs cover them in dirt or mulch), when I cleared the base area on those trees, I was able to see they did apply a nice thick layer all over the yard. This should last me at least a couple of years, maybe more. I couldn't be happier with the quality and value of their work. Both Maria and Armando are extremely friendly, flexible, and professional. Would love to use them on a future job when new landscaping is required.

Maria was super responsive to our project request and came out the next day to check it out. Not only did she give us a very reasonable quote, they were able to start work that same day. Less than two days after I first reached out, the difference is night and day. I still can't believe that they were able to accomplish as much as they did in such a short time. Seriously, our yard looks like a lovely park now. I mentioned that we'd like to rip out our front lawn at some point in the future. We discussed a number of options and she even directed me to a rebate site from the county that could help pay for it. I'm so glad to have found Sandoval Landscaping.

I got a couple of quotes through Yelp, but ultimately decided to go with Kay Green -- and I'm so glad I did. It took Young and his crew about a day and a half to complete the project. I live in a townhouse community, and they were very respectful of the shared space. They did an excellent job cleaning up the carport area they used for their equipment and materials. We ran into a few unexpected issues during the project, but Young was always upfront about what was happening and communicated his solutions clearly. His recommendations were thoughtful and turned out great. I would definitely use Kay Green again for any future landscaping projects and will happily recommend them to family and friends!

They ruined and broke numerous branches while admitting that these plants are very delicate. They rushed the job that should have been at least two hours and finished in one hour. I should have stopped them after the owner told me to go inside and they will let me know when they were done. You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing. I've waited weeks to write this review, in hopes that the job would look better, but it doesn't. Thanks a lot, KAY GREEN LANDSCAPING FOR DOING A SHITTY JOB AND TELLING ME TO GO INSIDE. I should have kicked your ass to the curb and told you to take a hike.

Ulises, the owner, is great to work with -- professional, responsive, and easy to talk to. His crew was also very friendly and respectful throughout the job. The final result looks beautiful -- we're very happy with how everything turned out. Highly recommend U & D Landscaping Inc!

First and foremost, I want to clarify that I'm trying to provide unbiased comments here. We hired U…read more& D Lanscaping Inc. for a concrete project that would cover my entire backyard and front yard, including our driveway, starting the end of May 2025. Ulises, from the very beginning, was incredibly professional, responsive, and easy to talk to. They completed the job very quickly until the concrete was finished. However, we later discovered that the concrete color we had chosen--light grey--was actually redish with dark grey undertones. Since it wasn't a project worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars, we asked Ulises to come and fix the issue. Fortunately, he admitted that it was his responsibility and assured us that he wasn't running away. Then, the story becomes quite intriguing. He requested the concrete company to come, but they informed us that we needed to wait for 4 to 6 weeks to see the progress. Ulises requested that we wait, and we found ourselves in a state of anticipation. Meanwhile, several items remained unfinished. For instance, our fence door kept opening throughout the 4 to 6 weeks until early July 2025. We had to repeatedly ask him to fix it, but he would always say he was preparing something and would come soon, only to have another week pass. I recall asking him multiple times, perhaps 6 to 8 times, to fix any other unfinished tasks. Every time he arrived, he would work on something that was only partially done. The situation was quite frustrating, as I felt compelled to push him to complete tasks that were supposed to be done, only to have them left unfinished, like our fence door, which remains unfixed to this day. After the waiting period, we had to call and email him several times to invite him to discuss the issue. We kindly informed him that we were willing to wait but requested a plan. In the meantime, we asked him to complete other tasks while searching for a solution to the concrete problem. We made it clear that if he had any issues or concerns, he could contact us, but we needed a timeline for the job to be completed. He arrived and hinted that the concrete company would not respond to our issue and instead asked us what we expected. We did not agree to leave it as it was, as it was not our chosen color and we had invested a significant amount of money in it. However, he seemed unresponsive and did not answer or write back any calls or emails since then. We were unable to reach him again starting from mid-July. I hope nothing goes terribly wrong for him. It seems like we're hiring entirely different teams based on our experiences. I don't want to make any uncomfortable comments, but at least I can see that he hasn't even given us a message if he needs more time, and he's not at all committed to his promise, which is unprofessional. On our side, it's causing a lot of trouble when the job is only half done with defective work. We are making an effort to be a friendly customer even today, but I feel like we are being ignored. Therefore, please watch out when you are working with them especially when something goes wrong. A runway devoid of any meaningful message is truly disappointing for customers. We have lost all trust in the company. I will leave my comments here until they reach out and explain what transpired. P.S. 1. We agreed to include the real grass for the front yard at the very beginning. However, he said that the real grass in the front yard will not be included since the concrete issue has been found. 2. We will consider reporting this licence to the related department if there is no feedback in the next few weeks.
