First time customer and, well, I had a very bad experience with this business. I paid full price for a Grade A undamaged complete driver rear car door assembly (2018 Chevy Volt), and paid to have it shipped to Phoenix, AZ. A few days later I picked up the door from the carrier dock, it was stretch plastic wrapped on a pallet. Once I got home and cut away the plastic wrap, I saw that there was a fist sized dent in the sheet metal near the door handle, and the plastic door panel itself was just laying on the bare pallet, which resulted in a lot of scratches on the door panel. There was absolutely no padding nor protection used at all in packaging this complete door onto a pallet. I contacted Mendoza and Elias said that filing a claim with the shipper usually takes about 2 weeks, so this sounded promising. However, to make a long story short, Elias and Fabian Mendoza both played a delay game with me for over 2 weeks offering empty promises of submitting a claim with the shipper or looking into it, and much of that time I spent being put on hold, or going to voice mail, or just plain being misled by both of these gentlemen. Nothing came of my inquiries with the business about this matter. I then decided to contact the shipper directly, and after filing a claim, probably 3 weeks after the shipment was received, it was denied mostly because there is a 5 day window within which a claim must be filed for concealed damage. Also I paid $280 to Mendoza to have this shipped from their yard in Bakersfield to the carrier dock in Phoenix, AZ. However, on the cargo claim, in the delivery information section, it shows that shipping actually cost Mendoza $184.68. So, my experience was that I paid full price for a Grade A undamaged door that was very poorly packaged for shipment, arrived damaged, and Mendoza avoided any and all responsibility, played a delay game with lots of empty promises and wasted time for over 2 weeks, overcharged for shipping, and after I finally filed a claim myself directly with the shipper, the claim was denied due to not filing claim within the required 5 days of receiving shipment. $3 of padding and 5 extra minutes could have made the difference... Of course, the other possibility for the dent in the door is that it was dented in the yard to begin with, although the pics on the site showed it undamaged, and Mendoza still sold it as Grade A undamaged anyways, knowing that little could be done by the customer once they receive the shipment. read more

One word describes this business crooks. I bought a transmission for my truck, the one they had reported 73K miles, which is nothing for a truck on mileage. Took it to the transmission place and turned out there was something wrong with it. The shop called him to return it the next day. They refused it, but paid for some of the repairs. But that was it. Now it's being completely rebuilt. So more money out of my pocket. Including lose of business for it being down for so long. It clearly states in the sales agreement that it can be returned within a certain amount of time it was just one day for me. There is no way I will ever do business with them again. read more

Mendoza Auto Dismantling always comes through for us and helps us whenever we need parts for our business. Highly recommend

I was looking to buy a used engine from this business but reading the poor review on how they sold that person a bad engine and didnt want to cover the labor to replace the defective engine Ill take my business elsewhere. Lkq covers the labor for a faulty engine. If this business had just done the right thing ethically then I would feel more comfortable going with them. Ill doing business elsewhere they treat their customers right. read more

Mendoza Auto Dismantling - Cheapest place in town to get great car parts - Auto Parts & Supplies Near Me - Bakersfield, California

Very disappointed. Everything was going great from service and prices. I'm a very reasonable person with reasonable expectations however I do not appreciate being told that they would be here at 10:30pm and showed up after 11 pm to drop off my car.To make matters worse they were extremely loud coming through my neighborhood as I could hear yelling all the way down the street from who was dropping off the car. When taking my car for a test drive it shut off on me at a stop light leaving me stranded (again after 11:30 pm). Not bringing my phone and not having a flashlight is my own fault yes but not when I paid almost $400 to get a car returned with a disconnected battery. Thank you for fixing the car but you're business could definitely take some notes and use some double checking read more

Bought an engine for my car and had a mechanic shop do the installation. They go to start it and it wont turn over because something internally is messed up. I call up Mendoza and they will get me a replacement engine no problem. Okay, I understand things happen. But they will not cover the labor for the mechanic to install the junk engine. It clearly states on the invoice that management can approve reimbursement on labor, but they don't. I talked to Fabian and Johnny about reimbursement on labor. They tell me since they bought to motor from 3rd party, they will not cover labor. I point out that bought the engine from Mendoza's and don't know where the engine comes from, as far as I know it came from their inventory in another yard. They repeatedly tell me that they warrantied the engine and try to sound like saints but I ask about the $900 labor bill they simply just tell me they will not cover it because, "they don't have to." I will bet that Fabian writes a response about a misunderstanding and/or to contact them to go over this issue. I did and talked to both of them without yelling or cussing with 1 question and they danced around it and defected over and over again with excuse after excuse. So, I had to pay the mechanic bill twice because I used Mendoza's. read more
