Price gougers. Just saw on the news the Michigan AG sent them a letter for gouging customers. We dont do that!

We've been to three Menards stores in the Tri-County area and found the same culture at all three. They seem to have more products than Home Depot and Lowe's, but heaven help you if you have a problem or an issue with their product or purchase. If you should need customer service at Menards - it's an oxymoron. In the course of fitting out our new home we have spent thousands of dollars at Menards - the value of which seems to be lost on them. Menards has what they call a"Front end manager "which in our experience, three times, at different Menards stores, has been a young, apparently an unexperienced individual who Has only memorized Menards outlandish policies. If you are not happy with the words coming from the front end manager - tough. Anyone higher up appears to be well shielded from the public. The cashiers need to stay in their lanes and remember that they are cashiers which does not qualify them to question customers about matters that do not pertain to them cashing customers out. Aside from having to return an item I just purchased, I will no longer patronize this location. read more

Previously I have been reasonably satisfied with Menards and this store. However, this experience is a disrespectful kick in the pants! On Dec 2 I sat down with Dan H at Menards store #3320 in Wixom, MI to detail a slightly custom order of a laminate countertop. When it was all spelled out we asked and were promised that the countertop will ship directly to my house. Great! Well, checking on my order today with the manufacturer I found out that it will likely ship out Monday and a few days transit to the store. NO! They never ship direct to homes! Grrr. Called Menards requesting a manager. Chip communicated professionally, but did not care about the employees mistake or customer satisfaction. I could figure out how to pick it up or pay an $80 shipping charge! Refused to absorb that charge after I spent $565.24 total including a must have $35 design template I had to approve. Called to purchase and have some rebar delivered to Howell. I did not have the capability to pickup 156 pcs. of 1/2" re-bar 20' lg. Talked to the delivery dept. they told me I would have my rebar the next day. Next day at noon my rebar was being unloaded next to my barn read more

This store has employees with an attitude and will not the customer with respect, I spent almost 4000.00$ and wanted a delivery. This was ordered October 25 and it is not delivered yet. And they tell me it is my fault. I read more

Attempted to place a special order on 4 doors for our vacation property at our local Menards. The customer service rep was not very friendly and not helpful at all. At this point, we have walked out and are heading to Home Depot. Don't think we'll be making any more purchases at Menards. read more

This store is terrible, waited for customer in front of us for his receipt 10 minutes then we had the same problem. We also had to wait for a price check! Waited 25 minutes for their issues. The manager finally showed up to correct, DID not care! DID not apologize! read more

I don't understand why my order hasn't left your facilities yet?! I ordered my materials on March 6,2017. I was told by a Menard's Manager the order should be here by Friday, March 10, 2017, worse case scenario that Monday, March 13... Why is my order still in Ohio??? As I looked up my tracking details everyday to see where my order is, to my surprise, it hasn't even loaded up yet!! 3 days ago?? Do you need help loading it?? Yes cheaper prices and lower quality. They also misrepresent with the 11% rebate. You must do it thru the actual mail, most people don't follow thru and do it. We did and had to repeatedly track it for 5 months. And what you receive is NOT a rebate, but an in store credit only. Can not be used to pay credit bill either. Can only be used to purchase more menards merchandise. Very deceitful business practices. read more

I see by yelp that I'm not the only one that is getting the run around about the 11% I have ben waiting since Feb. for the instore credit. they clamed they sent me 2 checks. That can't be true I have never had a problem with the us mail before. I asked to give me a store credit so I can order a missing piece for my project but the said they could not do that even the check as they call it is a store credit. I have quit a long trip to the store about 20 miles or 40 round trip but once this gets settled I'm not shure it is worth the trip. read more

I used to be a Depot/Lowes guy until I saw all sorts of nice building materials at my commercial health-care job, and one of the construction managers told me one word... Menards... So I have been with them since then for all of my Multi-unit real estate supplies, and also Amazon had been unbeatable as far as lowest pricing on high-quality 3D wall tiles/back-splash... My local Menards here in the Wilmington area in OH, knowing that I am an independent contractor who purchases rather high volume, they treated me nicely, I get waited on ASAP, and I have even had "Jordan" follow me around to help me get all of my item, which took four hours plus, with her help... Any who, I was at my local Menards and they did not have a particular almond hood in stock, but three other Menards had them including the one in Wixom, MI. I then called Wixom, Mi, and one such "Lori/y" picked-up and boy, she was RUDE, rushed me off the phone after taking my CC information, and did not even give me an ORDER#, TRACKING, etc. I understand that tracking wouldn't be until Monday, but I needed an invoice e-mailed or post-mailed so that I can at least take advantage of the 11% sale. I then finally had to leave my local Menards in Ohio, as I had called from this Menards to the one in Wixom, MI, so I ended up only purchasing 3 quantities of various colors of hoods since the fourth color was purchased through Wixom and supposedly in stock... I then left my local Menards with my trailer and other purchases.... I then had the hunch to call again an hour or so later, and this time, some other dude, younger, picked-up and immediately asked for order#, but I told him I was not given any by LORI/Y and this was why I needed one because without it, it's a needle in a hay stack should something happen to the item in transit... Without doing much research, he then immediately told me that "their system was off on the count and that the hood vent was not in stock..." I then told him to check with LORI/Y (just you imagine if I didn't even ask for her name, I'd be lost with no way to get the order# needed as they wouldn't even know who took the order...). So I return all the way to my local Menards in OH, a 30 mins drive, and purchased that fourth vent-hood but this time, a second white one since the almond was not available in Wixom, MI. I then got home and despite the other guy telling me that they would not CHARGE MY CC because they do not have hood vent in stock, I immediately see a PROCESSED transaction from WIxom so I knew right away that the order must have gone through.So I called Wixom again, and he finally got a hold of her, Lori/y, and I talked to her and she cut me off completely and gave me the order#. She wasn't even willing to hear how frustrated it has been for me and was very RUDE and hurried me off the phone. I made it clear to her that I have never had so much hustle trying to purchase a simple hood-vent as I regularly purchase such items. I already purchased four from my local Menards same day, and the fifth was more hassle than the four combined. Well, the item arrived Tues, was shipped with the original box that clearly says it was a hood-vent, the box was badly RIPPED/DAMAGED, but luckily, the hood-vent only had a minor dent; I immediately installed the hood-vent at one of the multi-units for a client and the item at least was fully functional despite the damages to the box and said item having a few minor dings/dents.... Absolutely no invoice or receipt was included in the box. This is unheard of as I shop online and locally a lot, and sellers always send receipts as their system should have generated a receipt with the purchase. I then had to call in and the guy who picked-up this time was also hurried, kept telling me there is nothing he can do at the pickup/deliver area, but I insisted that I need the receipt for tax purposes and my records, and then he tried but failed to transfer me at least twice as he kept picking up the phone thinking it was another customer, but as soon as he heard my voice, he'd RUDELY cut me off and place me right back on hold... He finally got me to one such "Mark" the manager at the front-side... and Mark immediately located my account and the receipt (so that idiot of a Lori/y must have intentionally not sent the receipt). Mark then e-mailed a copy and would post-mail the original as the original would take WEEKS according to him to get to me despite me being in OHIO and them in MI because their company has to ship that receipt back and forth following some corporate mandate of sorts - what? Any who, I would never purchase from Wixom, MI Menards ever again. I love Menards as they have saved me tends of thousands of dollars. As such, I would remain with my local Menards as they know me there, and I often get a personal aide who walk/show me around and help me find/select items. read more

When I checked out, the price was $30 higher than I was expecting and I told the girl that she needed to take the last two items off because they weren't right and she said she didn't know how and that I needed to go to customer service. I returned the two items and went back to the register and my credit card wouldn't work. I don't like putting my purchases on different cards because they're harder to keep up with. I had to use another card. I thought it was just the store because I made that return. On the way home I stopped to get something to eat and the card still wouldn't work and I was so embarrassed because it looked like my card was maxed out and I didn't have the money. A customer that was in line offered to pay my bill, I couldn't believe how nice that was but of course I didn't let him pay but I was so embarrassed because now everyone around was thinking I didn't have the money. I thought maybe it would take 24 hours for my card to work again so the next day I got some groceries at Walmart and the card still wouldn't work. I called my bank and they told me they had not put any kind of a block on my card and it should work. They also told me the charge, when my card was rejected at Menards, was on my bill. I called Menards on Monday and she told me that nothing they did would make my card stop working but as soon as I made that return I wasn't even able the use that card in the same store. She told me it must be the bank, but I already called the bank. She said maybe it's the card, I said the card has $1,000 available credit, it's not the card. She said well all I know to do is replace the card, so I had to order another card and now I'm waiting. It has to be something in their system but she wouldn't admit it or even check on it. She didn't do her job or maybe she doesn't know what her job is. Customer Service is supposed to help the customer. All she did was tell me that it wasn't their fault when clearly, if I hadn't made that return my card would still be working. read more

Called to see if one more Mega-tall cabinet was really there. Person thought computer number made no sense so actually CHECKED and found it in the wrong place. Ordered a special order item. Got an email stating it had arrived. Few days later went to pick up. Took staff member over 20 minutes to figure out that the item was not in store. His "best guess" was it arrived damaged and had to reordered. Then why did I get an email stating my order had arrived and ready for pick up? AND, why was I not contacted about it arriving damaged and had to be reordered? Original order was placed on 7/24 and now the new delivery date is set for 8/30!!!! Sure hope that one doesn't arrive damaged! Not happy at all. Wish there were negative star reviews. No respect for my time and horrible customer relations. read more

Menard's staff are a JOKE!! What a bunch of lazy clueless idiots! My husband and I went there to purchase a countertop for our wet bar. Good luck getting waited on. I had to stand around watching two employees in the grocery dept chit-chatting while waiting forever to get some attention in the kitchen dept. I finally had to call the store and say "Hey I'm IN your store and I can't get waited on!!" We finally got waited on and placed our order. My husband got an email 2 weeks later that the countertop was in so he went to pick it up. Good luck getting waited on again. No one could find the countertop for the longest time then they couldn't the back splashes. My husband who has the patience of a saint finally had to put his foot down and tell them he was NOT leaving without everything he paid for. The good news is the countertop looks great and the cut out for the sink was correct. Although that was all done by the countertop company, not Menards staff directly.
