When you go to the register, they give you a little piece of paper that you have to mail to them and later they will mail you a little piece of paper that is like a gift certificate that you must use within a brief period of time. This is my first time in a Menards. Unfortunately Tulsa does not have a Menards. I sure wish it did. Just the lighting section alone has more varieties of lighting than I've ever seen before in a single store. In my experience, Menards Employees are Liars and the company is NOT trustworthy. 2 weeks ago, I went to return a shower door. They instructed me to drive around back to their yard and when their forklift driver came out to unload the door, they ran into my 2 month old brand new car. We took pictures, filed a claim, and when we finally heard back after 3 weeks of calling, Victor Vera from their insurance company was totally rude and said their was no video evidence they (conveniently) didn't have. So they are denying a claim and about $6,000 in damage. Two Employees saw it happen, the manager came out and took pictures. This suggests that the employees lied about them doing it. I am a customer service trainer and plan to tell the story of how we were treated by the General Manager and their insurance company. Menards and their employees should take responsibility for their actions!!!!!! read more

Menards in Hollister took my money for a delivery order. Within 10 minutes of delivery they called to inform me that I was missing items that were on back-order. Delivery guy shows up. Absolutely refused to back the trailer to the side of my house where I needed the items. Instead, he dumps everything 50 yards away and I had to haul it myself. Very disappointed. For the amount I paid for delivery, I should have handled it myself like I wound up doing anyway. Terrible service. read more

I am totally humiliated and angry as hell for the way I was treated at the Menards in Hollister Missouri today. I quite often carry a candy bar with me to keep blood sugar from crashing and today was no exception but today the woman at the entry door asked me to produce a receipt for my candy bar that I brought into the store with me as I was leaving. Back on Black Friday I purchased a microwave, I was asked if I wanted the warranty and I said "yes". Because I had a microwave stop working and I couldn't replace it for months. Well after 4 months , my new microwave stopped working also. I called Menards and they said I should call the Warranty Company. So I called MIDEA and after 5 weeks , I was told my microwave could not be fixed and they would replace it because that happen a lot. Fours months later I still don't have a microwave because I was only refunded $104 and a new microwave price cost over $150. I'm a senior and unable to go out because of Covid. I am absolutely livid!!! We bought an offsetting umbrella which was last years model and supposed to be delivered THIS FRIDAY and it has 'disappeared'! Thats not bad enough but then an associate tried to belittle me stating he has worked there and it has been the same one on the floor for months! We bought a bigger one with a bigger base and he is LYING telling me the same one has been on the floor! Apparently the associate that waited on is rang the wrong one on top of everything else... We ordered $3000 worth of siding, waited forever for it! We never received an email or call saying our stuff was in! Paid $260 for shipping and finally received an email saying that our siding had been sitting there too long so they were going to put it back on the shelves! My husband called and was told that somebody forgot to switch it to be shipped! When it was finally delivered we weren't home and never received a call that it was being delivered. It was missing 6 pieces and over half of it wasn't even boxed! My husband then pulls the corner pieces out, which he needs to get started and all 4 are bent beyond use! I was excited to see a new hardware store competing with Home Depot and Lowes when it arrived in our area.   I have now done business with this location and am disgusted by the true lack of service I receive when doing business with this location. Example:  Online order for 6 x 12 x 8 pressure treated lumber.  The lumber was terrible quality, and because I wasn't taking that item, your staff thought it was appropriate to tell me to take my car already loaded with lumber to customer service on the other side of the store to correct the order.  Really ?  No, that is the staff's job to do. Example:  I purchased an exterior 1/2 light door with window that opens that should have a screen in it.  Picked up on 6/6/21, installed on 6/15/21.  Discovered after the installation by my contractor that the screen is missing.  So, how does Menards staff handle this?  They tell me to run after the manufacturer to get the screen that should have been with the door to begin with.  No, that is the staff's job.  Not the customer who spent over $300 for that door. So, here is my response to Menards.  I will be returning several items tomorrow from my last order and I will never do business with Menards again.  Your service is infinitely worse than Home Depot.  You should be ashamed of this store. read more

We like going to Menards because they have a superior selection to what is found in Home Depot or Lowes. As the store in Hollister was being constructed we were so excited we drove from Jasper, AR two or three times to just see the progress. We were so hoping that they would have a lot of things we hadn't seen before. This store turned out to be a carbon copy of the one in Lake of the Ozarks, MO. It is still fun but the excitement fell flat at the door upon our first visit. I just read of a couple who had a less-than-gracious experience at the check-out register. I must have had the same sour puss checker. Never anywhere have I had such a negative experience at check out. If this happens again I'll get a name. Management can't fix a problem they if they aren't notified. Great selection but please drop the fake rebate program and just drop your prices. read more

SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE!!! I bought a shower door and there was a miscommunication on the size of my door, as my shower opening was right on the cusp of the two different door sizes. I got it home and had it 3/4 of the way installed before realizing that I was sold the smaller size door, and I needed the next size up. I had alreadyInstalled most of the door, though, and didn't want to tear it all back out. When I went to the store and asked what my options were, they simply gave me a new door that was the correct size! To top it all off, this exact door was $50 cheaper for the same door at Lowe's! Order lumber for a deck. Made the order a week in advance. Was confirmed with delivery department. Day of scheduled delivery I waited, then around noon I called to see when it was scheduled to arrive. Gentlemen told me the driver was on his way back and I would be the next delivery. At 3:00 I called and they told me the same thing. He told me I could call the driver and find out when they plan on coming. I told him it was their job and they need to call and find out. Never heard back. I called the store manager and he had the driver call me. Driver stated it would be around 5pm or early the next morning. After waiting all day for a order I made a week before, I got angry and canceled the order at 3:30. I called Home Depot and ordered the same lumber. It was delivered at 11:00 am the next day. Went to church yesterday for the first time in a year due to covid, thought I would go by and see what kind of plants they had. I did not wear a mask due to asthma . I shopped for 30 min or so and went to check out, and the cashier said she couldn't check me out because I wasn't wearing a mask ......What!!!! I was leaving all I wanted to do was to pay for my items . All the time I was in there not one person said anything to me.. They have lost my business WILL NEVER step a foot into there store EVER!! Lowes loved taking my money with no mask and no hassle and say thank you. . Menards it's your business what you need to do,, but I am not going to take part in your dictatorship . They absolutely freak out if you walk in the store without a mask, even though masks are not mandated by the city. They followed me around the store and told me I was going to have to leave unless I put a mask on . . . Which is exactly what I did. Menards, for me, lags behind Lowe's or even Home Depot. I can't put my finger on it so A-OK 3Stars is fine. Shopped recently at this Hollister location and in spite of it's super sized appearance.... seemed a bit too big. If the idea is to keep you in the store looking (ie. IKEA) then Menards is this. Friends and I shopped for tarps and batteries. So, once again, A-OK is a fine rating. Just a bit too big, spacious for my liking. read more

My wife and I went to the Menards location in Hollister, MO to purchase gutter guards and other materials. I was approached by 4 different Menards employees and was asked to put on a mask. I told them that I have a medical reason not to wear a mask. My wife did wear a mask. The fourth person that approached me was a manager and even when I told him that I had a medical reason not to wear a mask he said that did not matter and said I would have to leave the building and he escorted me out of the store. I told my wife to leave the items we had put in the basket and that we would never return to Menards for any reason. We found that it was strange that not one person asked if they could help us find anything, it was just about the "mask". I find your policy to fall right in line with the governments plandemic and control of the masses. read more

I love this store. It has a little bit of everything which has been very helpful for my family. I don't agree with some of the policy they are required to follow, but realized that is not the individual store's fault... that would be a corporate decision. Generally everyone is pretty friendly. (everyone has off days) I haven't had any particular issues and the management staff has always been kind and quick to help with what they can. read more

I've had several experiences with their store manager ,a man that has dark hair and has come off as very unfriendly and unprofessional multiple times .I do shop here all the time. I buy a lot of my contracting materials here & I send my employees here to get products as well .In the times that I had issues where I needed help the man was unfriendly and unprofessional and even made fun of handicapped people basically saying it was not his job to help someone if they are handicap if they needed help in their lumberyard as he stated it is "strictly a self-serve " lumberyard.I was actually shocked by the statement and I let him know then that I would be complaining about his statement refusing to help someone who may need help. Menards is a great store and I would like to think that they could find someone much more professional ,kind ,friendly ,and hospitable to handle their store and not someone that would make statements like this.Just imagine a handicap person roaming out in their lumberyard needing help and that man literally said it is a self-serve lumber yard and it is not his fault that they got the wrong board. I understand that it is a self-serve lumberyard however his statements could've been worded much differently in a more kind, professional way. Instead he chose to be rude & saying nothing nice or helpful in anyway. Other than that I can say that most of the employees that have helped me at Menards have been absolutely amazing & they are very sweet young and older people for the most part ...it's their manager area that needs work. I Did almost completely stop shopping at Menards after the man made a rude comment about not helping handicap people and that it pretty much was not his job ,however ,again Menards is a great store and their poor management has nothing to do with the store and what it sells. read more

My husband I waited for the hype to wear off, and we finally visited this new store that everyone is talking about. After recently relocating to the Branson area, we often comment about the great level of service we receive nearly everywhere. Sadly, this was not the case at Menards. On December 31 at 5:00 p.m. the store was not overly busy, but the staff we encountered seemed to be in "holiday mode", but not in a good way. No one asked to assist us as we walked through virtually every department, and in some cases making two visits. The final straw was when we walked to the check out area. There were enough cashiers to accommodate the flow of traffic and two stations were wide open. As we approached one cashier, Cheryl, she said "well, come on" and had a look on her face of bother. This persisted in her body language and her lack of service. We tried to lighten the mood because we were sympathetic to it being a holiday night, and a time for good cheer. Unfortunately, her tone scarcely changed. I do not generally make such swift judgments about a place of business to the level of saying that I will not return, however we will not be back. Home Depot and their marvelous staff will continue to receive our business. Lowe's is a close second, and thankfully we have several locally owned businesses for specific needs (plumbing, electrical, wood stoves, etc.) who will continue to be part of the fabric of this fine community. Our local scene is fickle, so hopefully these issues will be addressed swiftly. read more

We shop here frequently and while many of the associates are friendly it's virtually impossible to get help in the yard. They point you in the direction and basically say "good luck". When we asked for help loading the gatekeeper said "ok" and it sounded like he called for assistance but no one showed up. read more

Nolan is the gen manager. He asked me how much accountability "we" took in these screw ups? Read the following to determine that we have taken all accountability for their mistakes. They will not. So 2 of our customers have purchased kitchen cabinets from Menards. The first one was installed by our cabinet guy (35+yrs experience) only to find Menards hadnt ordered flush ends which made the deeper cabs overlap the 15" ones which in turn made the microwave too big. Nolan says too bad that the homeowner now pays for this install, take down, reinstall and installer has to make filler to make this work but its not Menards fault. Also had to paint the crown moulding straight from factory as it came from different lots. In addition the cabinet design folks missed the fridge next to the wall (cant open the french doors with a wall in the way) so a wall was removed. We fixed it not Menards. Still not Menards fault. Next customer-2 kitchens-picked up and didnt get all pcs. but was told they couldnt deliver to make up for their mistake; i would have to spend my time and money to correct their issues. Somehow... Menards didnt allow for the standard 70" (just ask them) height for a fridge. So the cabs that go to the ceiling with large crown moulding doesnt fit. To make it fit it would need smaller mould or a smaller cab. Nolan wont authorize a refund (homeowner moving in next week), he must talk to the designer first to see what transpired when this homeowner came in and purchased 2 kitchens worth of cabinets. I even asked if he thought the homeowner had asked to make the hole for the fridge 69" so her fridge wouldnt fit? Still not Menards issue! We did move the lower cabs up the wall 1" to fit the fridge. The standard is lower cabs 36" from floor, 18" to bottom of uppers then 30" for standard cabs (lower kit was standard) now subtract 15" for the cab over the fridge and you have 69"-not the standard 70". Still not menards fault. He'd have to check. All any customer needs to hear is "We'll make this right." Instead i cant get a refund unless I return the original one. Please refer to the second order first sentence where they missed 3 pcs and would not deliver to the job site yet expect me to return another of their mistakes We are a small contracting company that relies on the word of the businesses we deal with. Needless to say; we will not recommend getting a parking space there let alone any of the products inside this store. I will however make sure everyone I talk to and deal with is aware of the tremendous issues we've had. read more

After reading some of these negative reviews I'm wondering how many of these people work at Home Depot or Lowe's. Never had any problem with this store. Sometimes Building Materials is overwhelmed with customers but that's expected during their 11% sales. Those rebates are legit, paying back in store credits. They have about a two week turnaround after mailing. Also lots of rebates on individual products. I have one now for $350 on carpet padding. Do these stores carry everything?..No, but Selections on most items for building are far better than HD or L's plus you have a selection of food items. The store carries it's own brand of work tools. I heard about this store it has a lot of good stuff. When I was there first time there was a good sales man his name was Zach and I really recommend this guy. Second time I was ready to buy a lot of stuff for my project and on that day Zach was on day off and a guy named Adam was helping us pick out stuff and he acted like he didn't want to help us or was being forced too. Felt like he just wanted to get away quicker. And we finally picked everything out and he said that I will get everything ready to us for pick up the next day. We spent that day $4500 When we went to go pick it up the next day, half of it was not at pick up I had to wait like an hour so that they would get all the stuff back together again. To my surprise later I found out that the second guy that helped us (Adam) was the Building Department Manager. I'm just very surprised how can he be a manager of such a good store and act like this to customers read more

We are from out of state and was excited about going to Menards because of a close friend had been to one in Minnesota. I was not at all disappointed. The store had such a wide range of merchandise and variety. The store was exceptional clean and neat, very well organized. Pricing was of great value, customer service was very good. We came back up to Missouri after Christmas and our wives wanted to go Menards. This was a first wanting to go to a lumber yard. Because of their displays we now have plans on two bathroom remodels and new flooring in our game room. We will order and make the 3 hour trip to pick up. great store great employees {most} but not all ,have been here 4 times since they opened even had employee offer to cary out a winch and set of steel ramps {no carts avalible on black friday. they have good sales and seem to have plenty of stock,last sunday i was getting some sale items a employee asked if i needed help i was in paint dept. asked him where insulation was told me it was in back section i told him i didnt want to walk way back there he said no problem he would go get it for me and he did.only one check out girl could have had a better attitude. read more
