My husband and I wanted a second opinion and as soon as our second opinion man looked up our fireplace with his flashlight his first words were "you had this cleaned?" He actually ran a camera up the chimney and showed us the 3rd degree build up and said whoever cleaned this just used a brush. New guy used a chain to clean it than ran the camera back up it to show us it was clean and deamed it safe to use and we did not need a 3,000.00 liner. By the way Joe said the fireplace wasn't safe to use and urged us to get a liner. I'm so glad we got a second opinion from a real professional who uses a camera before and after the cleaning. By the way new guy was $40.00 cheaper. Will never use PCS again.

"I guess I'll need a new dryer," she said, "because the repair man said there is nothing wrong, but the problem persists. He said he just drained some water from the vent tube." I have the same model, so I took a look, and could immediately tell the air flow was warm but restricted. In 10 minutes I accessed the fan blades and found about a pound of lint slowing the blade. My friend took that to show the company and ask for an adjustment of the charge because the repair had not been thorough, but had no reply in over a week. I subsequently called twice over 2 more weeks and described to 2 people how I had easily repaired the machine, and asked for a call from the owner. A third time I called, I was told, curtly, without further explanation, a certified letter had just been sent. The letter from the owner stated a repair had been performed, and that cleaning and inspecting the vent hose was not part of the job [that was not the problem], and that proper maintenance was the responsibility of the owner. I then went and spoke to the owner personally to make sure she understood how inadequate their service had been, and that I thought at least a partial refund was in order. I asked if my calls were rude or offensive, and was told they were not. I pointed out that inadvertent, improper maintenance must be a mainstay of their business, to counter the shaming her certified letter had implied. She smiled and said she would review what went into the job and see what was appropriate. Another week has passed without any refund forthcoming or the courtesy of a phone call. In my business, if I disappoint a customer, or even if they encounter a problem we are not responsible for, I make an accommodation, and if that does not satisfy, I ask what the customer thinks is fair, to see if I can do more. Sadly, I found The Appliance Store to be nothing more than what I have described here in detail.

We have a Buckstove wood burning stove which was installed, then after a remodel reinstalled (2009…read moreand 2024 respectively), and today had an inspection of the stove at the start of the winter season. The communication was the first thing to note - phone calls, text messages to confirm the appointment. Then the morning of a phone call to let us know the men were about 45 minutes away. They arrived as stated, noticed a broken baffle and firebrick which were obvious to see, quoted us a price, had those supplies on their truck, and all was repaired and in good order in 45-50 minutes. They looked at the inside of the flue, checked the structural integrity, cleaned up after themselves and made it cleaner than before actually....great job all the way around. By comparison, we had tried earlier in the season to go with a Miami/Grove fireplace shop, but it was horrible and we never did see them. That group had made if for a day, 1-3pm. When I called the office they didn't know where the crew was. I called again at 4 and the office lady said she would call the crew. About 4:20 I got a call from the tech and said he would be about 25 minutes. That came and went and about 6:15 he said he would be there about 7:45-7pm - by that time after wasting a whole day inconveniencing us, our work and much more, we said forget it...and called who we should have in the first place, The Fireplace Shop in Joplin - tried to buy local to Grand Lake area, but learned our lesson well.
