I ordered a door back in December, making sure to select the option 'show only options in stock'. I drove the hour it takes to get there only to find out that they don't have it. They did not track their inventory correctly so it was never there in the first place. It is set to be delivered and restocked, I never got a notification. Fast forward to me calling the last weekend of January asking about it, I was told that it was here "yup I see it right here" or something along the lines. I drove back down the following Tuesday, another hour one way. They don't have the door, never did, the man just kind of stared at me until I asked about getting my money back. I've been waiting almost two months for this door. It is a very very frustrating experience, the ladies at the return section was very helpful and apologetic, shout out to the manager. Went in to buy some lumber. I saw two associates talking. At the lumber desk. After waiting for them to finish; what I assume to be a very important conversation to ignore a customer he came and helped. As I was going through my list, the employee radio was going off like crazy. Seems unprofessional to have an open radio when serving the public. After that I asked where the nails and screws were. The guy pointed and went back to talk to his associate. I reached the nail area and eventually found what I needed after a few associates walked past me and said nothing. Went to the check out where there were lines, no big deal there. However, seeing three people behind the counter seems like once again a conversation was more important than helping paying customers. After finally check it out, I went to the desk by the checkouts and asked to speak to the store manager . Mind you I am no "BIG" spending , but money spent should never dictate value of service. after waiting about 10 mins the general manager came up. Shockingly it was the man who helped me first. Bought a wireless dog collar from there they didn't work so I sent my son to return them and look at the wireless fence with out asking my son which we pay with credit card, the gave him in store credit which he use to get the wireless fence, weeks later today (07/09/22) I go to return the wireless fence they want to give me in store credit I told them when we purchased the first thing I used my credit card they replied but when you bought this other one the same day mine you you used an in store credit. I told them my son returned the stuff and bought better stuff the same day with it. They still refused to give me cash back even though I had all the receipts showing the transactions. Make sure you ask for cash back no mater what when you return stuff if you don't they will give you that same in store credit which piss me off. read more

I'm just wondering why Menards is the only business (as far as I know ) that is not allowing children under the age of 16 to enter their stores because of the virus. How are people with children that have no one to watch them suppose to be able to shop there. Seems like they will lose a lot of business. You can take your children into grocery stores, walmart, target, meijers and home depot but menards turns you away. Doesnt make sense but then again nothing these days makes a lot of sense. Guess if enough people quit shopping there they might reconsider this restriction. When the virus is over people will remember how they were treated by this business. Also home depot does the 11% rebate so people dont have to shop menards to save. It's even easier to do from home depot because you can do it online and not have to mail anything in. read more

I own a construction company. I ordered 40 drywall boards of varying sizes. I requested at the gate that they send a guy or two to help load the drywall. I spent 30 minutes loading the board myself until I couldn't access the stacked boards to the back and no help ever came. I had to call into the store to have them send someone with a fork lift to shift the boards around. The yard is constantly like that. There is never any help and everyone ignores you when you are outside loading anything. Customer service when it comes to Menards has completely gone down the drain. If there was a Home Depot closer to me I would never shop at Menards again!!! read more

My boss sent me to Menards Clio for outdoor product. The employee in the paint dept was NOT enthused and could care less about my business. Paid, asked for help loading, and drove around back. Waited for help loading. Waited. Clearly, no one at Menards was going to help so, I pulled and loaded my entire order by myself. Two hours later, boss sent me to Menards again for more. Paid and drove around back. Again, WAITING for help to load large order. Waited. Waited. Again, pulled and loaded my purchase by MYSELF. Absolute WORST service ever! read more

Subject: Recent purchase of an Exterior and Storm Door Problem: Wrong doors ordered by salesperson. It seems the employee who placed our order was either not familiar with the merchandise, was not listening to/or did not comprehend what we were telling him, or was just careless about placing our order. Suggestion: Be VERY careful if you order a door from Menards. Make sure to HAVE THE SALESPERSON SHOW YOU, FROM THE STORE DISPLAYS, EXACTLY WHAT WAS ORDERED BEFORE THE ORDER IS FINALIZED. You cannot trust that what you thought you ordered is what you will receive! When we ordered the exterior door we told the salesperson which direction we wanted the door to swing. We trusted that the correct door would be ordered, it wasn't. The door we received swung opposite to what we had requested. We had to reorder the door. After being told we would have to pay another delivery fee to have the correct door delivered, we spoke with the manager who agreed to waive the charge since the wrong door had been ordered. When the storm door was being ordered, I saw that the salesperson had entered the wrong door into the computer. Instead of ordering the door I wanted, he ordered the one I had looked at previously. I brought this to his attention. I told him that was not the door I wanted. I told him again which door I had decided upon. I thought he corrected the order. When the door was delivered, I could not tell from the box that I did not receive the door I wanted. Because I was not present during the installation, I did not see the door until it had been installed. The door I received was the one that the salesperson entered incorrectly, the one I told him I did not want. Despite telling him which door it was that I wanted, I still received the wrong door. Very disappointing. Because they carry many Made in America products, I will continue to shop at Menards. I will however only purchase items from the shelves. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Go elsewhere!! I went in to buy a fireplace and was ignored by two associates who were chatting, then told by another that one specific person had to answer my questions in that department, Wayne. She pages Wayne but we stood there for over 25 minutes. I then called the store on my cell phone and told them I was waiting by the fireplaces and still nobody came for ten minutes. Ten minutes later I flagged down the first person I could find and he didn't even look me in the eye, just said okay I'll call Wayne on the radio as he kept walking. We waited another 5 minutes (40 mins total at this point) and I called the store again to let Jen know that we were still waiting. Then about a minute later, Tyler came up and said "OKAY GUYS WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION BECAUSE WE'RE GETTING STOPPED EVERY TIME WE WALK PAST." I just asked if he could sell me the floor model and he said "No we don't sell the floor models." I asked if he had any special deals and he replied "We don't have any specials." It was clear that nobody wanted to deal with customers, as if they had more important things to do- like chat with co-workers at the end of the aisles and call someone else to do the work.
