wish i had of looked at the reiews before i placed my order, i hav nt ordered delivery of lumber in quite sometime they use to put i packed skid on a flat bed and back in your driveway and tilt the bed and it wouls slid off done deal, not now they wanna park 100 feet from your driveway and use there forklift and try and fit 20' long lumber up your driveway, long ways no problem the skid was 4' wide width wise it was 20' my driveway is wider the most 12' wide and they wanted to leave it in my front yard, and i knew right away after talking to driver he was aq sub contractor for menards thiese guys suck, and after calling menards for a refund they would give me a refund on all except 200.00 delivery guess what screw you menards thank god for lowes to the rescue, i have spent alot of money with menards over the last 8 years well im done now. beware if you get any type of delivery. read more

We usually find what we need here. It's inexpensive, also. Whether it's a plumbing or lighting need, gardening supplies, mini blinds or paint, we find it here. Finding a helpful worker is harder to locate here, though. My husband had to run out to Mendards in the last week because of a leak under the kitchen sink and a toilet that wouldn't stop running. He found everything that he needed. He also was able to find a few other items that have been a little scarce at the grocery during this pandemic, ie. paper towels, cat litter, and cleaning supplies. Right after Christmas I got a fantastic deal on new tree and lights during an after-holiday sale. If you know what you need, and don't need any help from the staff, you'll likely find it here and at a decent price. read more

This was actually the first Menard's I ever saw upon moving to Ohio. At the time, the commercials left me a little baffled. Is it a hardware store? Is it a grocery store? Is it a home goods store? Menard's is a little of all three. There are grocery aisles. (Though I couldn't imagine someone doing there weeks grocery shopping there.) There are pet care aisles. There are as many home improvement and appliances items to equal a home improvement store. There is even home decor. It took me years before I finally ventured into a location. Other locations have been positive experiences. I have come to find, this location is one of the less polished locations. It is hard to find help at this Menards. When I finally do, I am usually instructed to "go upstairs," or they poin to the opposite side of the store. No real direction other than pointing. On my last visit, I walked around for 10 minutes trying to find help. The only reason I stopped looking was while looking for help, I saw something that would fit what I was looking for. I never get out of here quickly. It almost seems like being so close to a Walmart brings down the level of service at this location. A number of items were unmarked. There were also some in the wrong areas. With extra effort, I found 90% of what I needed. Prices seemed fair. During my last visit, the cashier was fast and efficient. In that time she also made sure to great and thank me. That was more than any other employee did. She was the highlight of that trip. If looking to shop at Menard's, I would suggest one of their other locations. read more

I ordered a fence gate online. It was stated to be delivered by Monday July 10. They never shipped it two days after it was supposed to be delivered I called and asked about it, the worker stated that it hasn't left the distribution center yet. I told them to cancel the order, and even though it never shipped I had to pay a restocking fee. If they can't hold up they're end of the bargain why do they make you pay? I'd give 0 stars if I could. Immoral acts from a big company. read more

I just returned from a two hour adventure at this store. I have never seen an establishment work so hard at making shopping so inconvenient. I went there to purchase a build-it-yourself backyard shed. Nobody knew where they were. I finally encountered Tim, the only helpful employee at the store. He walked with me clear to the other end and into the yard to show me where they are. I then went inside to buy one, and after waiting in line at the only open checkout was told, unapologetically, that I needed to go to the back of the store to get a "ticket" with the implication that I am an idiot for not knowing that. I went to the back and was "greeted" by yet another surly employee, who was deeply apathetic. I got my "ticket," and returned to the front and waited again to pay. After paying, I needed to drive out to the yard where I had been told people would help me load. I had never been there before, so as I proceeded to the yard, I asked the gate attendant about getting in. She said to me "what is that in your Hand?" I said it was my receipt, and she said, "well look in the corner where it says scan," then pointed to the scanner, again implying I am an idiot. I asked where to go and she said door 6. I asked if someone would help load and she said "yes." I asked which way to gate 6 and she snidely said just go around the corner and keep driving. I finally found gate 6, and had to go in and beg someone to talk to me. I told them what I needed and they sent me to the other side of the lot and I was assured they would send someone to help load it. (I think they got a good laugh out of saying that because they knew nobody would be there. This isn't speculation because I asked one of them at the end of my adventure and he said he didn't know what I was talking about.) I wandered for about 20 minutes until I finally ran into Tim again. He helped me load the very heavy shed. Then, I went to load some 2x4s. I had no idea where they were, I was upstairs trying to find them when Tim came along again and told me where they were. I got them and finally left. When I got to the gate the "friendly" gate keeper was off to the side reading her cell phone. I sat for about 2 minutes and finally honked my horn. She jumped and angrily came to the truck, snatched the receipt, walked around the truck, handed it back and walked away without a word. All I can say is, if this store's objective is to be rude and condescending to their customers, you have absolutely nailed it! A horrible shopping experience. We went to Menards this evening for paint. On the later side of the night. We looked around and needed some assistance with answers to some questions. Corey stopped what he was doing, answered our initial questions and proceeded to then create an additional solution for us. We were so grateful for his help. He suggested paint colors, then did a side by side paint sample comparison for us. It really helped us make a clear decision. We walked away happy. We were in the tool section when I saw Corey approaching me. He sought us out to add another layer of complete customer service by sharing some important information about our purchase tonight. I was awed by his continued customer service. And all with a happy and humbled smile. I highly recommend Menards to everyone. And in particular, Corey, in the paint department. This is the department store of big box home improvement places. It's clean, well-organized and brightly lit so you can pretty easily find what you're looking for. Plus, you don't come out all dusty like you do when you go to The Home Depot. One caveat is that you'll definitely want to inspect the quality of merchandise. Not everything is quite as well made as similar products at Home Depot and Lowes, but you are pretty much guaranteed that it will be a lot cheaper. That's not to say they don't have quality stuff--they do. However, like most discount stores, you need to beware. That said, we built a shed with all Menards materials and are quite satisfied with both the materials we bought and the great service that helped us put together the order. Love this store! Their prices are much cheaper than Lowes or Home depot on most items and id say they have much MORE selection. I got landscape lightbulbs for half what they cost at Lowe's before the 11% rebate. (They do a lot of rebate sales) The only thing lacking is the live plants never look to be in great shape and aren't cheaper. Hard to find staff to assist you. read more

They quite literally have EVERYTHING you need and anything you don't need. The moving stairwell is awesome too. Never seen one of these in a store like this. WATCH OUT FOR REBATE SCAM. After almost a year of not receiving a rebate check I totally forgot about it until we re visited menards for a return. The manager mentioned the rebates and I said I never got it. I then emailed RebatesInternational about it. It has now been over three months and SEVERAL EMAILS to a MJ METZA about getting it. They keep saying they have sent one, and another, and another. I figured this was just all a scam and now from reading everyone's complaints on the BBB I find it hard to believe that anyone has actually ever received their check. My desired solution is to ACTUALLY send me a check for $67.80. I talked to someone at Menards about it and they claim no responsibility for not receiving the rebate. I've noticed this company giving a lot of excuses and no real resolutions. I would also like Menards to hold some responsibility towards these negligent actions towards their customers. Menards is absolutely the best store in Cincinnati. They sell EVERYTHING from attic fans to cereal. Everything that I have purchased there for my remodel is excellent quality including doors, tools, insulation, etc. I don't know what I would do without them being close by. If you're just looking to shop for air filters, greeting cards, a new light fixture, and hot dogs in one place, you will probably give more stars. Since they open 6am on Saturdays so I got their as early as my schedule allowed with my kitchen drawing, measurements, cabinet style and finish pick, which meant it took under an hour for Terry (she's great!) in cabinets to create my kitchen along with the counter I picked and give me a quote. This ease of experience along with the 11% rebate in the form of store credit, sold me. LEARN from my hastiness because 3 months of checking the rebate status, I'm confident I'll never see that rebate (which can only be used at Menards). It is a check with your name, address, amount all visible in the mail so anyone could take it and sign it since it is not enclosed in an envelope. That said, if you're planning a big purchase like cabinets I recommend studying their flyers and learning their sales cycles so you're not dependent on saving big with a rebate. If you're doing a project that might involve order/delivery, be warned, they only make deliveries to your neighborhood on certain days. If they have to cancel/reschedule and you work, plan to burn up vacation time waiting for the delivery. read more

I've had several rather negative experiences with this store. I wonder why they don't train their employees better? This most recent time I ordered online to pick up at store. 2 items came in but the 3rd never did, so I finally cancelled it 6 wks later. I reordered elsewhere and received the item within a few days. When I picked up the 2 items that did arrive in the store the old man back in pick up grumbled about it the whole time and didn't seem to know what he was doing. Apparently he was the delivery guy, and hadn't been trained for pick-up orders. If he's working back there, I think he should be trained to fill in behind the pick up counter, and should always treat customers with polite respect regardless. A few yrs ago I was having trouble reaching something on a high shelf, and it took me 3 trys to get the attention of the young man who was standing not too far away. I practically had to tap him to get his attention! Another time the guy working out in the garden section didn't even understand what I was asking about. THey have ok prices sometimes, but consider it a help yourself store. Don't expect any help from their employees. We also really dislike the rebate system which is difficult and inconvenient to use. We feel it's a sales gimmick. I doubt that many people actually get the rebates which are always in the form of store credit, so you can't take the $ and spend at a store that actually has helpful service. read more

H-U-G-E does not even begin to describe this place. OMG! Uummmm, I personally found this place a little overwhelming. It really does have everything imaginable for the do-it-yourselfer for home improvement. I was here with my boyfriend and our friend, I was done in like an hour, but those two were still going strong for another hour....good grief. Help ME!!! That was seriously my text...wrap it up...let's roll.....but for the guys, I swear they could have been in here for another hour at least.....it was just a little to big for me. I will say it is extremely clean (as was the restroom - I had nothing else to do so why not check it out). I rode the escalator with the cart a couple of times ...fascinating.... Don't get me wrong, I love projects and doing things around the house and arts & crafts....but this was a little overwhelming. I've never been to another Menards, or any other big home improvement store, that has two floors packed with everything a DIY'er could want. The last couple weeks Menards has been having their 11% rebate on everything sale, so I made the trip up there. This store has everything you'd expect. It was very clean. Everything was organized and reasonably easy to find. The employees I asked for help were all very willing to take me to whatever it was I was looking for instead of just giving me directions. The coolest part of this store is the escalator. It's like an airport moving walkway, except this one is inclined and somehow it locks your cart's wheels in place and carries it to the 2nd level with you! read more

I came to this location to buy an exterior door, I was sold a discount door that I assume was returned previously. I specifically asked the guy in the door department if the item if it was returnable. the gentleman was new in the department but assured me it was returnable. I came home and realized the dimensions were not correct listed on the door and tied to return it. the lady at the front desk was no help on returning the item and the manager proceeded to come over to assist and she was not any help either and couldn't even look at me when talking to me. Her name was Colleen, when I went back to the front desk to try to work with her again and tell her that the person working doors told me I could return the item she was sitting at the front desk on her cell phone. Very unprofessional and didn't try to work with me at all. Be careful shopping at this store because management has no honor and will not try to help in any fashion. I definitely will not be returning to this store and advise anyone to do the same. read more

Menard's is another "DIY" paradise destination for all of those homeowners who can't stop fixing; who can't stop remodeling; or who just want to see what there is out there in the world of home improvement. This place is huge! Two floors tall, with one of the most unique features I have ever seen in a department store (more on this in a minute). There is no need to list what is available here for the home shopper, as it is most everything: Paint, lumber, tools, doors, everything for the exterior, electrical, plumbing. lighting, a lawn and garden area, etc. They even have a grocery section for those who wish to buy their milk where they get their wood. I attended during the last day of the sale for the "Grand Opening" of this Evandale location. Menard's flyers had been bombarding my mailbox for weeks, so I just had to go. The prices overall are very competitive, with some surprises. I found "every day prices" in the grocery section that were lower than our nearby Kroger for the exact same item. They have name as well as off-brands, but most of them seem to be well known manufacturers. The same goes for the construction materials. During the Grand Opening, there were a number of "stock up" items, such as a gallon of windshield washing fluid, two for a buck. Their prices are competitive, and in many cases they offer items for sale, or at least for on-site inspection, that the other two DIY Mega Stores do not. They also tend to show the cost of the cabinets, retaining wall and other assembled items. How-to demonstrations? Of course. Another neat little feature is a "do it yourself" dining area on the second floor. Not large, but it has several tables, a vending machine or two, and a complimentary microwave. "Gee, that's a nice pair of Carhart coveralls you're wearing!" No, not that kind of complimentary; I mean as in free to use. You can fire up that just purchased heat and eat meal, or that package of popcorn purchased on the floor below, if you just can't wait to get home. As for the unique feature? They have a moving walkway that connects the first and second floors. Not that unique, you say? Well, you take your cart with you. It is a far shallower slope than a normal escalator, but you don't need to hold your cart. There are metal plates on all four wheels, and when you push your cart onto the walkway, it is magnetically held in place for the ride. And I mean firmly. Most people can't move the cart even if they tried. At the far end, there is a plate that the wheels ride up on, and the cart releases. Pretty neat to see. Go there if you must simply to take a cart from floor to floor. It's a nice addition to the area, and one that I'm sure will affect the profits of several of the departments at the Wal-Mart next door. read more

This is the fanciest Menard's I think I have ever seen in my life. We were spending a day over in Cincinnati and wanted to pick up a faucet just so that when we got home back in Indy we would already have what we needed to do our little home improvement projects. When we walked in it was pure amazement. I've never seen a 2 story Menards before. Let alone a store with a moving ramp to bring you up to the 2nd floor. It was so cool! The place is very, very clean and easy to navigate. Everything was laid out and marked clearly. We didn't interact with any associates until we were checking out....but the girl at the check out was very friendly. Looking around other employees that I noticed seem to have smiles on their face and actually talked to people that were checking out. This would be my new Menards...if it wasn't 2 hours away from my house. read more

Just purchased a portable ac unit... got it all the way home, dragged it up the stairs by myself, just to open it and no instructions, water all over it. Clearly someone just returned it and they taped it up and put it back on the shelf without inspecting it. I call and all he say is, bring it back. I asked if there is another one with the same BTU's, he says, I'm sure it is. Ok, at the same price? He says, I think so. I don't need you to think, I need you to know. A sorry for your inconvenience would have been a start.. First time shopping there, and after my return, the last time. Poor customer service. read more

Ordering online was not good. I placed an order. I was charged immediately and after almost 2 weeks no status. I emailed their CS and got a generic reply twice with no status update after 4 days. I finally found a number to call and was sent to a voicemail service. After calling back there was no answer. I finally called the local store...hoping they take care if it. We'll see. Beware that this store charges a hefty processing fee if you place an order and pick up in store. Also, if you return anything, there is a restocking fee. This service is FREE at HD and Lowes. Also, several times I have driven over 30 minutes to pick up some of their "sale" items and I have never been lucky enough for them to have them in stock. Totally not what I was expecting. Is it Lowe's or is it Walmart? It was a lot larger than I was expecting and difficult to find where things were located. This store is crazy large. If you are working on your home or just need some random stuff this is the place. They have everything you need for your house. From nuts and bolts to the kitchen sink you can find it here. This location is two full floors. Now if you are thinking how do I get my cart up stairs they solved that problem. They put in a cart escalator. Now the first thing I thought when I saw it was that you would have to hold on to a heavy cart to keep it from rolling away. No problem the wheels lock on the ramp and it will not move until you get to the top or the bottom. They do have really good prices as well to make it hard to just not grab things that you might not need. The only thing about this store is because it is so big if you only needed one thing and you were in a hurry it's not a quick in and out store. Other then that it is a great place to get all of your needs for your next home improvement. read more

I visited this store in evendale yesterday to buy some things for my yard. Outside where the lumber, rocks and plants were I could not find anyone to get assistance with lifting the bags of gravel rock that I needed. A customer helped me do that. We both had to climb in between the pallets and look behind them in order to get the prices for the rocks. When I got to the register to pay for my items they charge me more than what the rocks actually cost. I conveyed to them that they had been marked down by an orange tag. The manager trainee came and said that they were not the price that was marked. I asked her to walk back there with me and I would show her the correct price. She told me she could not leave the store. Isn't this area of Menards part of the store? I understand that many businesses are short-staffed but this was ridiculous. I paid the higher price but next time I will just get my phone out and take a picture of the price. This is what I call bad customer service for Menards. Shame on you! read more

Beware of products listed on website as "in stock". Drove out of our way for what we thought was the "one left in stock" only to find out it was the display model. Unable to find any employees to help, when we did get help the employee was less than friendly. Told us that display models come with NO discount and as is because they don't want to sell the floor models. read more

We have visited this store at least 6 times including today. Haven't had one that close to us, but getting one on Montgomery Road soon. I'm more impressed with each visit. Normally we shop Lowes and have had good service there. What we are finding is Menards is cheaper on every item we compare between the two. Customer service is very good which is important in a store this size. It could take days to find items here, but there seems to be plenty of eager staff to point you in the right direction. If you need it or want it they have it someplace. Today at the checkout Ramona was the clerk and I must say, she is the most delightful person you'll every have check you out. She alone would be a reason to shop Menards Her sincere thank you makes you feel good about your trip to the store. I'm hoping she moves the the Mason store when it opens.
