Love this store! 10/10 every single visit. Great selection ajd great customer service. The other big box stores just don't compare to this. For any project, and I literally mean any project, I've always found what I needed here. Tools, supplies, lumber, you name it. I live closer to other stores but when if I ever need anything they don't have I know Menards will. I even got an online order ready for pick up just now in 5 minutes! These guys were on it. We purchased the roofing and siding report from Menards that allows them to use satellite to measure the amounts needed. Most of not all of the siding products are special order. They estimated we would need 88 PCs of siding at 24.99 a PC. But you have to purchase by case of 11. With all the j channel starter strips wrap nails coil and lumber it was about 2,600. The siding guy we hired did an excellent job. But now we had 36 PCs of siding left over and starter strips and J channel all special order. We only could return 33 PCs of siding which we knew. But they charged us restock fee of 25% and ded 11% for rebate. Rebate I get but we paid for them to measure what we needed and they deducted Over 300.00 for the special order. AND they wouldn't Refund us cash or check. Just a in store credit! WTH? Now I have several hundred that has to be spent on merchandise at Menards but after this I'll be done with them. I ordered a standing freezer and the deliver date was set & confirmed. It was my only day off in 2 weeks so instead of running errands, I stayed home all day waiting since I never got a time frame. 4:00 pm rolls around and nothing, so I reached out to Andrew, he called me about an hour and a half later apologizing but my delivery was never put on the schedule. We agreed that 2 days later would work, but it would have to be after 4:00 pm as I work and would need it placed in the garage. Todays that day and tell me why, when I come home, my freezer is in front of my garage.. placed perfectly so I can't get my car in. Absolutely ridiculous organization and customer service. He didn't "remember" talking with me a couple of days ago until I sent him a screenshot of our call log. I would not order from them again if he's in charge of it. read more

Tom in plumbing is a class act. I came in with a sump pump that I had purchased from menards 2 years ago that had stopped working. Tom took the time to research that pump and new pumps for me. His customer service was top notch. Thank you Tom read more

Only one review on yelp and it's a bad one so I felt it necessary to share my experiences. Go to Home Depot - good luck finding an employee. And then good luck having them actually help rather than pointing to a department. After a major basement remodel and other home projects, I have come to know this Menard a very well. I am CONSISTENTLY impressed with the service. No one has ever "pointed" to me - every associate has always walked me over to the product I was looking for AND, if they weren't an "expert" in that product, they ask if I would like to speak with someone who is. I LOVE Menards and will be a lifer. Yes, I do give the other big boxes chances from time to time and I stand by my claim that Menards knows how to train employees and treat their customers!!! read more

Beyond frustrated with the lack of attention to details at Menards in Buffalo, MN!!! Three times in a row employees have messed very simple orders up causing me to have to literally walk miles to fix in the store....back and forth and again and again!!! I have just finished an addition to my barn and never in my life have I been more frustrated then I have been at this place. I almost lost it! I highly recommend looking elsewhere before you shop at Menards. We went to Menards in Buffalo and ordered the preassembled vinyl fence, post kits and cement. We also payed to have it delivered and here is where the problems start. We ask if it could be delivered sooner in the morning rather than later and they said that wouldn't be a problem. On delivery day at 9 am I had not heard from anyone so I called the delivery company and was told that they would be there about noon, When I ask about the early delivery I was told no one had informed them it needed to be delivered early in the morning. When I finally showed up the driver put it in my drive way and be began to place things out and verify we had anything. We found out they had shorted us 2 fence sections and 2 post kits. I called the store and they said that we knew about the shortage. I explained we originally wanted 19 sections and they only had 17, so we went to a different store to get the items that would be short before the delivery. The manager John said he would look into it and get back to me. Then we went back to building and my wife discovered that 6 of the post kits were not complete which would make it impossible for us to complete building the fence. Then as continued building we found that they delivered 2 different types of fence sections, which do not line up, the difference is small but defiantly different. Again we called john and he said he would look into it and get back to us. We returned to building the fence with what we had that lined up. John finally called back and ask me to provide him the measurements of the fence section we wanted. I gave him the measurements a s well as pointing out that the labels on the fence section were very clear as to the measurements and the model name. We ran out of the correct material and cleaned up, John called us back again said that he found the correct remaining and they would be delivered tomorrow. We had to keep the auger, post hole digger and associated bits and extensions at over $120/day. At 9:00 the next morning the missing gear showed up and we returned the incorrect items. We returned to building the fence and completed it. When I returned a few bags of cement I spoke with a manager and was told if I had a complaint was to put it in writing. I finally put it in writing and emailed the complaint to customer service. I got an email reply that said they were sorry for the issued I had experienced but the email was going to be forwarded to Mr. Dahl the GM of Buffalo. NO ONE ever contacted me, I waited a week. I finally called and got a hold of Mr. Dahl and was able to talk to him. He offered a couple of apologies especially I had explained I would not be using Menards when it came to adding another bath to our home. I said that as a minimum it would be nice if they reimbursed me for the extra day of rental that I had incurred because they were late delivering the material and each phone call I made to inform John of the incorrect gear took up on average 20 minutes which delayed us even more. I was told that he could give me a discount if I came in and spent more money, but was not informed how much of a discount would be offered. I don't feel that Mr Dahl, Menards customer service was able to comprehend the amount of frustration that we were experiencing because of Menards errors. These errors cost us time, time of our friends who were helping and money but was only offered an unknown discount if we spent more money. I have tried to consolidate this, my story, it was a long ordeal and frustration, Look elsewhere or if you have to use them go over everything with great detail, verify they have the right amounts and items before you have it delivered.
