Earlier this year, a young man jumped to his death from the Nestlé water tower in Ripon. But aside from that tragedy, the $2 million tank has a lot to brag about, including being the state's largest above-ground water tank. It is 175 feet and managed to triple the City's water capacity. Ripon's need to close two underground water tanks and the expected demand increase for water users in the future both contributed to the construction. It's a fun landmark, clearly visible to travelers driving on the 99. The almond trees need not worry - Ripon has water for all! And plenty of water pressure (created by elevated water tanks!) This isn't the only water tower in Ripon (hence, the #1 in the name). Note: There is a Sonic Burger place located off the Jack Tone exit. Even though it's sign was removed from the billboard of available dining options directed to the freeway, it's still there. I'm not a Sonic fan, but my husband seems to be, and he gave me this tidbit of info. :)

Well organized and fun to participate. Businesses provided water which made it nice. The only advice I would give is; if your a business participating in the event, dont shortcut the people supporting your event. When you register, they give you a 4 oz beer mug. The perfect size for visiting the multiple locations. A few of the businesses poured less that an ounce off beer and had cheap snacks. Please make an effort to fill most of the class and provide reasonable food. It reflects poorly on your business when you are one of the few businesses short changing the people supporting your event. Thank you

We were so disappointed while the food venders were way over booked there were repeat food. Having the same type venders did not give the public much choices and really did not give the food venders a chance to have an great experience. Sorry Ripon but not a festival we would go back to and I think that a lot of people feel the same way. The chamber of commerce contact I have reached out to during and after the festival has not taken any attempt to return my emails. It makes my family and I feel like they do not care just filled spots. Not a happy experience.

Instead we were alerted that they close at 5 when the woman refused to serve us past 5:00 despite only having 5 out of the 7 wines. Shockingly the price was not 5/7ths of what a tasting normally cost. If she had let us know from the start that they would cut off our wine tasting before finishing, we would not have joined them at evening and come another time. Or if she had to give less time between the pours so we could be out right at the 5:00 closing time then we also would have understood. But instead no heads up, at her mercy of the timing of the pours, and didn't get to finish the tasting that we paid for. Rip off!
