I signed up to be taken care of for all of my medical needs, especially my chronic illnesses. When you request help. They label you negatively and discuss your personal information with all the staff, so that you can be judged and made feel uncomfortable. THEY HAVE a rotation of doctors because they cannot seem to keep doctors and most do not speak English fully and cannot translate your medical situation or condition into English. Some of them didn't even know how to work the computer program prior to my visits. When you need consent care from 1 provider, they change again! And when I spoke to the director to discuss my issues, her advice was, and I quoted her, "Well, maybe this clinic is not for you. " I totally agree with her ! So, if you're bilingual, and speak mostly English, and want your medical information, and your records, and the people that you speak to, especially medical doctors, to give you the information in English, so that you can understand it better. This is not the clinic for you. Not the Tamarac clinic anyway! Also, the specialist they send you only goes to some of the other clinics once a month, so if you have a chronic condition and need to be taken care of immediately. You have to wait or go to the ER and even go without the medication you need. They cover up their lack of medical care with sweet treats, parties, lunch, and bingo. That is not going to help manage all my illnesses! So disappointing! If you are someone that does not speak English and wants to be pampered with trinkets, lunch, bingo and BS AND REALLY HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO GO BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION. THIS PLACE MIGHT BE FOR YOU! BUT BEWARE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER FOR MEMBERSHIP ONCE YOU'RE IN. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR HEALTH. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR INSURANCE MONEY !!

This would make our third attempt in searching for our family doctor after our doctor passed away…read moredue to COVID. So far the search has not been very pleasant. But this place is got a good potentials, initially. The staff were extremely nice and friendly. We did not get to see the doctor in the initial visit. Instead we saw the PA who basically just took down our medical history for future references I guess. We were supposed to get our blood lab work done in the same visit. But somehow due to some unforeseen circumstances, we were denied at first. After pleading with the staff we were then allowed to get the blood work done. It's weird to me because we always get our blood work done. In the same annual physical visits. We never had to "request" for this service. Oh well, not all the offices were as nice as our previous doctor. Probably will still go back for our next annual check ups. But the next time I'll make sure I request to get the blood work done in the same visit!

Now there is a $618 bill because they ran a bunch of unnecessary tests that insurance doesn't cover and goes beyond a free annual checkup. Not once was anything mentioned to us by anyone at the office. Patricia has stated that this bill is part of my deductible. I literally have a paper trail from my insurance company all the way to this office that is outlined with "free annual checkup".

I made an appointment here because Sharon Lamkin, PA came highly recommended by my coworker's…read moreboyfriend. I needed an endo because my new insurance are assholes and basically only cover 1 insulin. So I need a physician to battle with the insurance so I can get approved for a CGM, test strips, and my pump. I had a difficult time making my initial appointment, which should have been a red flag. I hate going to new Endos because they always make you come for an appointment every 3-4 months. Like, I have been a type 1 diabetic for 18 years so I think I know a thing or two. Plus I am forever spoiled by my original Endo in NYC. With that being said, I expect to be told I would be seen every 3-4 months during my initial appointment. Once I arrived for my appointment, I was given some paperwork to complete and was told to take a seat in the room adjacent to reception, which was the waiting room. I did not sit there too long and had a lovely conversation with a fellow patient. I was led to an exam room, where my vitals were taken but the BP machine was malfunctioning and the nurse took some time to complete that. I was then led to another exam room and told to take a seat. Sharon entered within 15 minutes and I knew immediately she was great! Sharon reviewed the usual bs with me and offered to assist me with fighting my insurance to obtain a CGM and other supplies. She also offered to give me syringes because she had an abundance but I did not wind up getting them. I had to get labs done so I was sent to the lab, which was in the office. That is always nice. I sat outside the lab and observed an argument between lab techs/phlebotomists and one was not wearing a mask or gloves. I took specific notice to that because we are in a medical environment and the lab should be of utmost importance to take these safety measures! I informed the phlebotomist that I have difficult veins to locate and most have to use a butterfly, to which he stated "that means they didn't know what they were doing". Um actually they did and it was less painful for me. I am always squeamish when getting blood drawn so I shakily wobbled out to the reception when done to complete the wonderful visit. I was told my copay was $20, to which I paid. They made appointments for lab work and follow up with Sharon for 3 months later. In the meantime, Sharon provided me with the contact information for Valerie, who assists patients with insurance issues and obtaining supplies. So of course I emailed Valerie the following week and was immediately met with slack and in my opinion, an attitude. Needless to say, I never heard back from Valerie after one or two emails and I did not receive approval from my insurance for supplies. I tried calling the office over and over, using every extension and no one answered. I later received a bill in the mail for $333 which was for "my copay" and lab work. I was never informed of my lab results. I attempted to call the office several times but alas, no answer. Diane emailed me to obtain funds, to which I told her I never received results so I am not exactly sure why I am paying, how questionable the $150+ extra copay on the bill was, and I would need to do a payment plan. Diane did not have answers for me and requested I call the office. I informed Diane I can never get anyone on the phone, to which she insisted I call her extension-guess what? I called 5 times I always got the voicemail. So I left a message for Diane. I received an email the following day from Diane offering me a payment plan. So basically, Sharon Lamkin was the only smooth part of this experience. This is an extra long review but cmon, it is bad enough we have to live with diabetes that dealing with extra unnecessary obstacles makes it even more defeating.
