It is with a very, very heavy heart I write this review. My yellow jacket, the one I've been wearing for the past 2 years, the one most local business professionals recognize me in, is no longer and it's all thanks to this company, Melody Cleaners of Yuma, Arizona. For the first time in over a decade I needed a new dry cleaner as the one I had previously gone to has shut down, allegedly due to illegal activity. Whatever they were doing I can tell you what they never did, ruin any of the garments I had brought there over the past decade. I reached out to my friends on facebook and almost unanimously the mentioned Melody Cleaners. So I took my jacket there. I'll readily admit it was not as vibrant as it once was, but it was by no means dull either. It was still very much YELLOW. It also had a mustard stain on it that someone pointed out to me a couple days earlier, fortunately again the jacket was yellow! I dropped it off gave clerk my information, they registered me in the system and I was very known as a new customer. They asked if I had it dry cleaned before and I confirmed it had been many times just not in the last 4 months. I left it and they said it'd be ready Monday after 4pm. Monday 4PM I come in with my 5 year old daughter and they pull my jacket. But it wasn't my jacket. It was brown. My daughter makes the obvious comment "that's not your jacket daddy, that's brown not yellow". The clerk calls someone above her and they explain to her it had a chemical reaction and that's why its now brown. I stated this is unacceptable. The clerk pointed to a "cover your butt" style sign on the wall that says they do not guarantee dyes. I was less than happy with the outcome. They offered to lighten it. My options were to take a ruined jacket or let them try and fix it. I opted to let them fix it and was told to come back Thursday after 4pm. I came in today, Thursday, after 4pm and upon seeing it on the carousel I thought well its yellow, but oh is it dingy! It looks like the whole jacket was dirty, not just the edges. The edges were dingy upon bringing the jacket in, and now it just looks spread through out the whole jacket. I was not happy. I was a little worried so I brought along the matching pants to see how much color difference there might have been (see photo attached). I asked at this point why they, with knowing I was a new client and this jacket clearly had dyes in it, did not point out the sign on the wall. The answer was something like "it's on the wall". With a dozen other signs and decorations throughout the establishment. Before I grabbed my jacket, I wanted to confirm they were not going to charge me for this. Oh no, I owed them the clerk stated. The initial "service" I would need to pay for, the "redo" was complimentary. So I confirmed that they ruined my jacket and they wanted me to pay for that, and she replied in the affirmative. I told them this suit cost me $300 2 years ago (although I just found it for $165 online, it was an Alberto Nardoni suit). Still did not budge and so I left without my jacket. I told the clerk to let the owner know I was not pleased; my phone number is in their system and they could call me. Had they given me my jacket this would have been a 2-star review, they did remove the mustard stain and it would have saved with little good will there was. Now I am blown away by all the recommendations for this place, I don't get it. The people were pleasant, but this was a horrible 1st experience for me. As the only dry-cleaning option left in Yuma I'm now forced to take my dry cleaning to El Centro for any future work as I will not give this "reputable" establishment any of my money. read more

SCAMMERS & liars. Both Mikel & Emily White who own Melody Cleaners at 877 S Orange Ave, & also at 2241 S Ave A in Yuma AZ, LIED under oath in Yuma AZ Co. Court today. Inexcusable abhorrent behavior for supposedly professional people. They only have 2-1/2 stars here at yelp! I see why after this travesty. I should have gone to yelp or Angie's List beforehand & seen the complaints in the reviews against them. It's evident customers are NOT happy! If I had been vigilant & checked-up on Melody Cleaners, I would have found another establishment to deal with! 2-1/2 stars is way below the standard I expect when entrusting my property or self to someone. I would never do business w a 2-1/2 star dry cleaner anymore than I'd sleep in a 2-1/2 star hotel! My ethics or standards of living "far" supersede what they offer! I'm an educated consumer & would NEVER have left my property at risk if been made aware of such! This is the most horrible horrendous transaction as a consumer that I've ever had in my 64 yrs. They deserve not 2-1/2 stars but "0"! Thankfully I won a judgement against them in court today because of their dereliction of duty & failing to use ordinary care....legally deemed, a bailment for hire! It's the principle that I won that really counts! I'm not talking a $30 shirt or anything. I'm talking about $650 in fine draperies. Do NOT trust them w anything! They clearly have no idea what they're doing. They were lax & inadvertent w my property. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL in their knowledge to properly handle dry goods. They're obviously insouciance towards others. They have no knowledge about cleaning window treatments either. It's not blatant nepotism of sorts but my 12 yr old nephew could have done a better job! They may come back & lie some more to defend what I'm saying here. But I can fax or email you the award in my favor. I can send the photos of my drapes before & after. Even tho I succeeded in court today it was not for the full amt I asked for. Lying in court netted them a couple hundred dollars! That's because they both sat there & told bald face lies. If they would have been truthful, under oath, I would have won the full amt. But their subversive & unscrupulous meretricious lies resulted in a partial refund only, of fees I paid. But I feel vindicated because the judge ruled in my favor. It's the principle that I won, that counts. And they have to shell out $100+ to me. But I'm not counting on that either. As shameless & corrupt as they are, I'm sure they have no intentions of doing so. I'll just have to slap a lien on their property. That's why it's paramount that I won the case. If you'd like to see the judgement/award, just message me & I will be glad to provide it to you upon request. I also plan to pass out flyers in the Orange Ave neighborhood & a copy of the award to the BBB & to other dry cleaners in the area. That way the competition will have one up on them. I will not relent. These lies were perpetuated to cover their a_s! And to lie under oath is pathetic/piteous. It's diabolical! MELODY CLEANERS IS NOT A reputable businesses. The place is filthy, has a foul smell & is very antiquated as well. Many RED flags here. Heed them or you too will be, "taken to the cleaners! " read more

Stay FAR AWAY from Melody Cleaner's. I sent in a dress to get altered by them. It was not done the day it was supposed to be, after the owner called and asked me to leave it with them and give them another chance, I went the next day to pick it up and it was ruined. It was bubbling out on both sides, the rooshing was so loose on one side that I could pull it over the sequins, and then there was a very noticeable line going down the front of the dress on the right hand side. My event was the next day out of town, after much back and forth I was compensated for some of the dress. They did not pay me the full amount and the night before my event I was having to find a new formal and jewelry. I posted a review on facebook of my experience and I was attacked by the owner and her mother, I have all of the screenshots of the conversation, even though they deleted their comments. They even went as far as to threaten my husband's job, by telling me that if I did not, shut my mouth, that they would call his employer and he would lose rank (my husband is in the military). My opinion and advice to other's is to find another cleaner's and to stay far away from them. read more

I have been using Melody Cleaners twice a month, for the past 18 years. I rarely write reviews but felt is was time to give them the recognition they deserve. I am a businessman in town and also serve the military. On numerous occasions I have brought my military uniforms to be sewn/ updated and prepared for a special event and Melody Cleaners has performed like ROCKSTARS. I have been measured on the spot so that they can ensure it was going to be a proper fit. My business clothes have always come out on time and with no issues. 18 years of customer service and not one complaint. I know Mike and Emily are involved with the Yuma community and give back with their personal time. It is a privilege to do business with those that give back. read more

Let me tell you, these people are clueless and deserve to be run out of business. I called the manager to complain about my suit not being back when promised and his wife answered. I asked for a discount or refund and was promptly told..."IT IS OUR POLICY FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS TO NOT GIVE A DISCOUNT OR REFUND, AND WE NEVER HAVE!"...WHAT? HOW STUPID TO DO HAVE TO BE TO MAKE SUCH A STATEMENT?! MORONS! This is the only cleaners I trust with my vintage/designer clothing and today's fabrics. Well established for years with an excellent reputation, Melody Cleaners treat their customers with enthusiasm and appreciation. Melody Cleaners will be upfront and direct with the client when evaluating an artical of clothing/fabric. Their knowledge and skills is excellent. Also...they are fast! This place is garbage. They had my garmets for over two weeks. I was patient and gave them the benefit of the doubt because of their boiler issues. My dry cleaning was done wrong, I was charged to get my order out and the "President" Mikel White acted like an a**hole when I brought my issue to him. The team at Melody Cleaners is top-notch! From your day-to-day apparel dry cleaning, to draperies and wedding dress preservation. They even do alterations! My son is tall and skinny, so finding shorts that fit right is a chore. The ladies at Melody Cleaners lowered the hem line, and had then done in no time at all. read more
