Vegan stroopwaffles here! I tried hazelnut and original. They were both good but if you like not too sweet, original. 5/10 sweetness. Originals come in bigger packs for less. Delicious and I highly recommend. Attendant was very helpful too!
If you're in the mood to try traditional Dutch food, this is the place to go. The dishes are large and you can easily share with a group. I did find it to be a little bland and added salt to my liking. That said, I'm glad I had a chance to experience the cultural dishes and it's a great spot for any tourist.
The original stroopwafel is delicious, huge, and they usually have warm batches on hand. They sell all sorts of other variations with toppings, but I stuck with the original. It is definitely a tourist spot but a solid one.
I lovedddddd my visit at Mellys when I was in town for a music festival. Fresh stroopwafels made throughout the day, no preservatives, dipped in chocolate and adorned with roasted nuts, candies, or other toppings, what more could you ask for? We trekked through a spring downpour and were recommended to try the stroopwafel workshop (perfect for waiting out the rain...) taking place several times a day on the weekends. The shop is cute, with standing area for about 4-6 people and friendly service. The waffles were warm, caramelly and delightfully delicious - hazelnut for me, pistachio for the boyfriend. Did we get into a discussion about how we may or may not share with each other? Did we wind up trading 1:1? Did I manage to sneak a couple bites when he wasn't looking? No one will ever know... If you have time, take your waffle next door for a coffee or tea (seating for about 8-10 people?) I recommend Melly's and I would absolutely return when I'm in Amsterdam next!
The stroopwafels from Melly's were amazing. They have an assortment of flavors to choose from and were perfectly created! 100% will come back for all our stroopwafel needs.
Like others, I was skeptical about trying these gourmet stroopwafels. Melly's was delicious and absolutely worth it. The stroopwafel tasted great, the portion was big enough for me to eat throughout the day, and the topping tasted fresh. The service was also really good, the lady at the counter was patient as I tried to decide what I wanted to get. While I feel like the local supermarket stroopwafels are a great value, if I was to recommend a gourmet place in Amsterdam it would be Melly's.
Take the stroopwafel making class! It's a lot of fun, especially for kids. It only takes 45 minutes, you get to make (and eat or take with) 2 of your own, in a really nice tin. They are delicious!
Small shop with many flavors like speculos, oreo, coconut, hazelnut, etc. we got a large speculos to go and it was delicious. They come already pre-packaged and you can buy some as gifts. Open late. I believe they were 4,50 euros each which is reasonable as we paid over 7,50 for one at another store.
I loved the stroopwafels from here! I got the original and the one with biscoff. Both were delicious!!! I also like that they sell mini versions in addition to their large ones. I feel like I can get a variety of flavors without feeling guilty lolll I got one of their nice porcelain containers with the stroopwafels for my parents so I'm excited to gift them with that. The employee was so nice too. She wrapped up the porcelain container with a bow so it's ready for gift giving. Swing by for a regular or fancy stroopwafel! It's a grab and go place since it's small on the inside
Fantastic stroopwafel place! The only thing is I wish they were prepared when you ordered, because you can only get pre-made ones. However, they are probably the best premade ones you can get. They have many toppings and I tried the white chocolate, but they also have Dutch cookie crumb, oreo, framboise, etc.!

This is a cute busy little shop that is on the touristy side. They have a variety of stroopwafel flavors including pistache, Oreo, salted caramel, vegan Oreo & more. They also have small and large sizes. You can buy multipack packages of stroopwafels in a bag or you can pay a little extra for a cute reusable tin which I did because M. loves stroopwafels! Service was friendly and helpful. I ate my salted caramel stroopwafel with tea when I got back to my hotel, and it was really lovely. It tasted like other stroopwafels I've had but it was an enjoyable after dinner treat for sure! Mahalo! read more

Located on the street right across from the Magma shopping building. Really easy to find. Quaint shop (aka small) serving stroopwafels (2 thin crispy flat waffles with a caramel center). Almost like a panini dessert. Comes out nice and warm. You can get a mix of "toppings", or rather "dipped" like Nutella, chocolate etc. Imo stroopwafels aren't anything mind blowing or super special. But they're good. And Melly's is a good one if you want to cross this off your list. read more
Popular Amsterdam waffles (stroopwafel) are available in most stores and bakeries in Amsterdam. What's special at Melly's is that they make them fresh on the spot and yes that means that you have to wait about 5 minutes. Don't despair, they're worth the wait. While normal caramel waffles are so yum, doesn't hurt to try other flavors too, since one side is left original. Don't worry, you can also buy some to go for friends and family including a nice souvenir Dutch motif tin to store them in. But be warned: buy extra so that you don't "accidentally" eat them on the plane back home. read more
I'm of Dutch descent, so I've always known about stroopwafels and have had them numerous times in the States. When we went to Amsterdam, I was determined to find the best since we were only visiting for one day on our trip. Melly's is definitely the top in Amsterdam. The stroopwafels are made fresh to order in this tiny, cozy little space. It smells absolutely divine when you step in. I cannot remember the name of the stroopwafel we ordered, but it's pictured below and was half covered in a mix of chocolate curls. The stroopwafel itself is so fresh and crisp and has a lovely golden baked color and wonderful caramel flavor. The chocolate curls were warmed, but not melted which added a really great richness and sweetness that made the whole experience a 10/10. I had half a mind to walk back in the store as soon as we left to order just one more. Melly's is seriously a must-try! read more

Never had a stroopwafel before coming to Amsterdam, but I'm a HUGE fan now!! We went to Melly's twice while in the city. I ordered a stroopwafel with some white cream and carmel on the top the first time, and then just a regular one with nothing on it the second time. I personally like it plain. It's filled with syrup on the inside so you'll get some sort of sugary goodness no matter how you order it. They also make it fresh and right in front of you so it comes out very warm. FYI: Your order must be over 13 euros in order to avoid a charge for credit cards so bring cash if you can. If you can't do cash, know that the charge is 0.50 Euros. They also have stroopwafels you can pack in a tin can if you're wanting to bring some back home to friends and family. P.S. While visiting Amsterdam we were told to go to this place by another place that sold stroopwafels. The guy at the counter said that this place was much better and was the best. Just wanted to put that out there. read more
Best Stroopwafel in Amsterdam (at least that I tasted). The waffles are made fresh to order. There are options for chocolate (milk, dark, white, and Nutella) and then candy coverings. The warm gooey caramel inside the waffle with the melted chocolate on the outside, oh man! I am still dreaming about this!! Its a really small shop, only one table inside. But these can easily be eaten on the go OR next door at Mellys cookie shop. read more

Stroopwafels come warm and freshly made! I got half of my waffle dipped in milk chocolate. I'm glad it was just half because I thought the waffle was already very sweet. The waffles are perfectly thin enough so you get a slight crunch, and there's honey in the middle. The waffle pattern has a beautiful texture to it as well. You could easily share this with 2 people! I came here earlier in the day, and the line was packed so I recommend coming for dessert :) read more
This was our favorite place to get stroopwafels while in Amsterdam! They're made fresh right in front of you, so they come out warm, soft, and gooey! You can choose sauces that go on one side of the stroopwafel such as dark chocolate, chocolate, Nutella and then various toppings like hazelnuts. My boyfriend and I opted for Nutella and it was amazing. read more

Very small little corner store with fresh made to order stroops. You get to fully customize them to your desire! I went back twice and each time the girls that worked there were very nice. Communicating through English was no problem. read more

My son and I are staying at the hotel across the way. From the time we arrived until the time they closed, there was a line coming out of the door. We went as soon as they opened today. Now I understand. What an amazing thing the stroopwaffle is. read more
