Mellow mushroom hit it out of the park once again with their pizza! I'll be honest, wings were consumed, but i think we will stick to pizza in the future. We ordered pizza and wings for delivery to our hotel. Being from Chicago, I'm picky about my pizza and was hesitant to plsce an order. However, previous reviews seemed good and Mellow Mushroom did not disappoint. We ordered a Design-Your-Own mushroom and half Italian sausage regular crust pizza. The crust was soft and bread-like on the edge and the pizza was topped generously. The sausage lacked flavor and seemed more like ground beef, but we really enjoyed the fresh mushrooms. The "naked" wings were crisp and tasty served with a side of carrot and celery sticks and a side of blue cheese. Our delivery arrived in less than an hour. It was worth the wait and price to have pizza this delicious delivered. Well done Mellow Mushroom! This Chicago girl would order from here again. read more

The Good: I'd recommend for the food! I'd order it to go.. The restaurant is clean & it's nice that our furry friends are welcomed there! My waitress at the bar was delightfully polite! The less favorable part of two visits within 4 days: I experienced this place for the 1st time earlier this week. The initial customer service is lacking. I wasn't greeted. When I asked for a table outside, it was "probably not' with an eye roll on the first occasion. I couldn't sit outside with a full staff. Then tried it during the day.. later this week, still absolutely REFUSED to let me sit outside. Met with "no, I'm the only one here!" Quite rudely on both occasions. My husband and I stopped here because we had a Passport coupon to use and it was close to the Pinnacle Bank Arena for the concert we were attending. We picked the perfect time to stop which was close to two hours before the concert started because there was hardly anybody in there. Within 20 minutes of us sitting down at the table the place was packed with future concert goers. Service was decent, but I don't know if the server was just that inattentive or if he was that busy. Our lukewarm spinach artichoke dip tasted good, but it could've definitely been cooked longer because we had to cut the cheese with a knife. On the other hand, our pizza was delicious. We went with a small Hawaiian that tasted great. I think our boys will really like this pizza shop and definitely plan to try again when we're in the area. read more

Decent beers on tap so that's a plus. We started with the spinach, artichoke dip that tasted great but needed to be cooked longer. Mixing the dip was difficult because the thick, top layer of cheese wasn't completely melted. We had to use a knife to cut it. My wife wanted to bring it to their attention, but our server was running back and forth so stopping him was difficult. The Hawaiian pizza we ordered was cooked long enough Anna had a great amount of toppings. I think we will stop again to give it another try. read more

First time here. I really love this place! I worked in a pizza restaurant for 5 years. This was a great experience! Our table server, Michael, was awesome! Everything was served wonderfully and in a timely manner, with a smile. Hats off to the pizza cook!!! The Great White pizza we had was perfectly made and super duper tasty!!! Our night had a lot of large family groups while we were only dinner for two. The pretzels with beer cheese and/or marinara appetizer we ordered was filling but not really pretzels - maybe more akin to twisted piazza sticks. They were tasty and a nice start. My wife liked the Magic Mushroom soup - it had great flavor but I found it a little thick, more like gravy. We enjoyed the Great White, medium pizza. It was good at the restaurant served fresh, and though we couldn't finish it all at the table, tasted just as good as leftovers the next day. My kind of pizza. The prices were expected for a gourmet pizza joint but worth the cost. The price fit the location (downtown) and style (stone baked). We like Mellow Mushroom pizza so much, we will drive from Omaha to Lincoln to get it. It's the crust. That's what sets it apart from Nolis and Pitch. All 3 have good toppings, and a passable sauce. Only Mellow has the proper ratio of crust to toppings. It's amazing that a chain can be so consistently good, but it is. We've eaten at MMs in at least 13 cities. Always the same goodness. And, always the best pizza in town, wherever they are. Their beer selection has waned over the years. They used to have a good selection of Belgians, but they are hard to find, now. The service is typically poor at MM, for some reason. But this spot in Lincoln is above average for MMs. Nice outdoor seating options exist, so bring your dog with you. We do. read more

I really like Mellow Mushroom. The vibe, the food. But I don't get here often since it's downtown. We were running errands and happened to be in the area around lunch so we were looking for meal options for young, picky kids. We crossed our fingers and headed into Mellow Mushroom. It didn't disappoint! I personally wasn't in the mood to share a large pizza between us since we couldn't agree on anything, besides, I had my heart set on meatballs. I was happy to see the pick two lunch option, so I had half a meatball hoagie and five wings! It also included chips and a drink. The kids meal included cheesy bread, a cut up apple, chips, and a drink. When it comes to kids meals, I was very pleased with the quantity and quality of the food compared to many, many other restaurants. Mellow Mushroom did a great job with this! My sister ordered a pizza. I have been here before and really enjoyed the unique combinations and look forward to coming again. It's been years since I've been to a mellow mushroom; the Lincoln location served up some really delicious eats. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer which had soggy bread which made it hard to pick up and eat. I always appreciate a crunch in the bread, which was missing. There was a good balance between the creamy cheese, the floral basil, the tangy balsamic, and the acidic tomatoes. I will say they did waste a lot of balsamic glaze on the plate. The pizzas were the true heroes of the meal. The mighty meaty pizza was epic. It had a variety of different meats but the pieces of slightly crispy slightly chewy bacon really put it over the edge. I could've done with a bit more sauce as well. We also really enjoyed the kosmic karma pizza with its pesto swirl. It had quite a few tomatoes and they were very generous cheese and pesto. I barely noticed there was no meat on this pizza! The service was slow. Maybe it was a new server who kept forgetting things? The male host who was working the afternoon shift on 11/1/2025 which happened to be a Husker football Saturday apparently chose my husband and I to inform, WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING OUR MEAL, that apparently they have a 1 hour policy to be able to get more people in and out of their restaurant on busy days. Right before he informed us that apparently we had been there for over an hour, I had asked if we could order 2 more drinks. After being informed we cancelled our drinks and asked for a box and our check. We asked to speak to the manager which this fine young male chose not to go get. After 10 minutes of waiting for check, box, and manager we grabbed a waiter and asked again for those 3 things. FINALLY the manager came out and talked to my husband and said that policy was only for concerts and we were fine. We paid our check and left anyway. We will NOT be returning as we don't go places where we are not welcome. We had been going to the Mellow Mushroom on every game day for over 8 years. It was a tradition we cherished and loved doing and always, always told by people how amazing the staff was. We will no longer be sharing such pleasantries about this restaurant or spend another dime supporting it. I have been to other mellow mushrooms before and each one has a unique theme behind it relevant to the area in which you were in. In this case it was more sport themed as you can see in the picture with bees carrying baseballs and the volleyball Sun. As for the pizza as with all of the mellow mushrooms the dough they use is great with texture and taste. We are from California and we were visiting our son in Aug. 2021. He brought us over To Mellow Mushroom.  We ordered a Medium Holy Shiitake pizza and a small Mighty Meaty Pizza. The pizzas were fresh, hot, and yummy. The Holy Shiitake pie had olive oil and garlic base, shiitake, button and Portobello mushrooms, with caramelized onions.  Cheese like mozzarella and MontAmore was perfectly melted and blended well. There is a perfect amount of garlic aioli swirl and a spritz of black truffle oil. The shaved parmesan made me look forward to the next bite! The Mighty Meaty pie had ample amount of pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham and "everything taste better" with Applewood smoked bacon. It had red sauce with lots of mozzarella. The Meaty pie was my favorite. It's too bad our trip was so short as I would have requested to go back. I wish there was a Mellow Mushroom in California. My son and his co-workers often get the pizza here. The ambiance is pretty casual and very interesting decor. The hostess was welcoming and nice. This was a great restaurant experience. I love the groovy atmosphere. I mainly chose it because I am on a restricted diet (gluten/egg/dairy/soy free) and the website made it so easy to decide what I could eat-which was a lot!
