Wow, I don't know when in the last four ish years that they changed their gluten-free crust, but they shouldn't have. It went from an... okay crust, to the one most people who are gluten free can't stand on the market. Just because we're gluten free does not mean we don't want flavor, holy cow. Talk about needing.. everything and seasoning. The service at this location is the same as it always is, always something that feels slightly off. Our server was nice and consistent, I unfortunately didn't catch his name. The person who sat us was training I'm pretty sure. I'm not sure what's going on here but the pizza has been markedly worse here over the last year. Dominos shows up looking better at half the price. Any phone order is notoriously late. Last one I had was put in at 5pm with a 6:10 pickup time. I sat for 30 min waiting for it. So over an hour and a half later the pizza is ready. No "we're sorry for making you burn 30 min of your life waiting for us" just blank stares and repetitive questions about the name on the order and what was ordered. Place is also a Gen Z Mecca of disinterested employees and I'm not sure there is anyone truly in charge there. They do a ton of business though - have to hand it to them. I cannot comment on service becaue I only do take-out. The pizza is OK but I wish there were other better places nearby where I live. My main objection is that management/owners do NOT allow any bonus points for purchases even though the Mellow App says that is available. Stopped while traveling and were treated like an old friend by the greater and our server. They answered every question throughly and were accommodating with topping and our drinks were never empty. Excellent service! Our waitress Destiny was wonderful- great attitude and very friendly. We shared (between three of us) a Greek salad and a large cheese pizza. We had one slice leftover. This is one of the very few times when I will actually choose to order a vegetarian pizza! I always order the "Holy Shiitake pizza". An offensive name but a satisfying pizza. It has portobello and shiitake mushrooms, onions, mozzarella, and a creamy garlic aioli. I don't even throw out the crust, which is soft with a hint of garlic. The hint of Parmesan and garlic assist will the overall flavor as well. The quality can vary by location, but this one is pretty consistent. The service can be hit or miss, as you can get someone who is on point or a total space cadet who messes up the entire order. I'd like to say I'll try the other offerings at some point, but I can't get over how tasty that Holy Shiitake pie is and I end up getting it every time! read more

My wife and I ordered a Holy Shitaki for pick up today Sunday, November16 2025. When we got the pie back home we noticed no mushrooms even tho we ordered extra mushrooms. The crust was uncharacteristically soggy and had no cheese on it! This is the 2nd time we have ordered this pie for take-out and have been extremely disappointed. We have eaten in numerous times and have had great pizza so we don't understand why now we have had 2 take-out pizzas that aren't up to Mellow Mushroom standards. This pizza was 38 dollars! I loved MM when I lived in ATL. I was so happy when they opened here. I love seeing they are still busy. The dough is amazing. They do have limited toppings. Their salads are usually pretty good. They appear to have a broken ice machine (and from what I understood it has been broken a while). I have never had bad service not excellent service. Always pretty average, but I always seem to get a good pizza. It is a little loud inside but not so loud you can't have a conversation. Great night tonight!!! Our family was planning on another restaurant however they were closed. Knowing our clan needed some vegan choices I remembered a friend tell me about Mellow Mushroom's vegan menu. 3 of our 8 family members were vegans and LOVED the choices and how accommodating the staff were. About the time we were ordering I found out one son wasn't able to come, so we put in a take out order as well. I have a food allergy that our wonderful server (Reese) was able to make clear to the kitchen staff. At other restaurants too many times I have had issues with the kitchen staff to understand the allergy but not tonight with Mellow. Reese was attentive and a great server! (Hey Mellow Mushroom, give her a RAISE)! All the items we ordered were terrific! And the pizza to go was enjoyed by our son when we dropped it off to his work. We came for our first time this afternoon for lunch. Our neighbors have told us about the pizza here and just raved about it, though with some reservation as they know we are Chicago pizza snobs. The pizza was okay. We ordered Italian sausage, mushrooms and green peppers. The ingredients were very fresh and flavorful. The sauce and toppings stopped about an inch and a half from the edge leaving a large area of bread around the perimeter. Our server, Becca, was very attentive when she took our order and when she brought us our items. That was, however, the last we saw of her. No checking if everything was ok or we we needed drink refills. Long after we had finished our pizza we waved down another server and if she might scare up Becca. Drove out from Blount County for a quick date night and pizza. Walked in and was immediately seated in the patio as we had our puppy with us. Had multiple servers come by to pet the dog but ended up having to leave because we sat for 20mins without ever being greeted much less having a drink order taken. Great pizza! It's hard to find good pizza in the Knoxville area and this place is a real winner. The Gatlinburg location is slightly better than the Farragut location. We've ordered pizza to go several times and have eaten inside at the Gatlinburg location. My only complaint is the lack of consistency. It seems we order the exact same pizza from the menu numerous times and it's a little different nearly every time. Some toppings we paid extra for were forgotten when we've customized, so be sure to check your pizza carefully if you add extras. The bar area is small but is a great way to kill time waiting for your pizza to go. If the management can tackle the consistency issues this restaurant would deserve 5 stars. read more

The pizza was hot and tasty and served well before my husband Meatball appetizer. They were very tasty once they came. I forgot I could get 1/2 & 1/2 pizza but this one was good. We had lunch at this Mellow Mushroom early on a Saturday afternoon. It is a chain and I have eaten at other Mellow Mushrooms restaurants, so I knew what to expect. This location did not disappoint. We were seated by our server so we were waited on right away. She was very nice and attentive. All of our needs were met. For an appetizer we chose the half order of pretzels. We got marinara, beer cheese and mustard to dip them in. I wouldn't get the mustard again as it was plain yellow mustard, nothing fancy, but the other two dips were good enough. Our pizza was a medium with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. It was perfectly cooked and quite tasty. The pizza sauce has a little tang to it, and there was a nice rim of pizza crust on the end that we dipped in the remaining sauces from the pretzels. Without a doubt, my favorite Pizza place in Knoxville. Every location I have been to are just as great including the Chattanooga locations. But more about this place. They recently renovated the entire dinning room and bar. New table top bar, improved views of TVs. More beer selections and I love the new decor and colors. The booths have more padding now for more comfort. But it's the food that keeps me coming back. Great appetizers, i had the garlic bread on this trip but they have many to choose from.
