1-Star Review Title:…read moreBeware -- Unlicensed Title Loan Activity I took out what Embassy Loans advertised as a "title loan" in October 2024, secured by my vehicle. After researching with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, I discovered that Embassy Loans does not hold a Title Loan Lender License under Chapter 537, Florida Statutes -- which is required for this kind of loan. They publicly market "auto title loans," yet only hold a consumer finance license (Chapter 516), which does not authorize loans using a car title as collateral. Under Florida law, unlicensed title loans are considered void, and lenders may be required to refund all money collected. I've since filed a formal complaint with state regulators and the Attorney General. If you're considering a loan here, verify their license first and understand your rights before signing anything.
