Staff was lovely, helpful and the taxi station was right there. Shower door glass was loose and leaked water all over the tile floor. Slip hazard. read more

Service and staff are fantastic as always but this is not the usual vibe we experienced on this visit. Well this is why. As of now 10/18/2025, construction is on going and the noise is unbearable at the 12th floor. Before booking your stay, , please inquire about the on going remodeling and Avoid it for now until they are done. We always stay here at Melia and is our favorite hotel due to its location but this time no one informed our agent and they did not let us know about the construction activities when they booked our rooms. We were awaken with jack hammering noises, ear deafening and wall vibrations etc. Many thanks to carameltrail.com handling our reservation. They were able to move us to the other Melia Hotel to save the vacation / holiday trip. Thanks as well for the years of private tours and booking our hotel accommodations. Will edit this post when all is back to normal. read more

We stayed at Melia Madrid Princesa for the Madrid part of our honeymoon, and it was a beautiful stay. Our room on 11th floor had a great view, we liked the double sinks in the bathroom. We loved the cold cucumber water and candy snacks in the afternoon after we had a busy morning and went back to our room to freshen up. A nice touch, cool detail. Staff was friendly, perfect English to accommodate our struggle Spanish. They sent us chocolate covered strawberries, currants and champagne as a honeymoon gift to our room, very sweetums. The location being next to the Ventura Rodriguez metro stop is incredible. We did not pay for the breakfast since we were looking to try different breakfasts around the city. Indoor pool is a cool amenity but we did not utilize it this trip. read more

A comfortable hotel with courteous staff. Even on the premium Level floor, rooms are a bit small. Front desk staff were disorganized when it came to checking out. read more

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. Melissa was especially helpful and made us feel at home in a new country. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. I'm picky about my bed and we slept like babies. Also has a bath not just a shower which I always appreciate. The location is close to many shops and restaurants. Can't say enough about this place. We will be back. read more

Terrific hotel! Feels very luxurious for a good price. The breakfast buffet is probably the best I have ever had at a hotel - tons of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, eggs, all very fresh and high quality. We also enjoyed drinks and snacks at the bar. Rooms are excellent. Location is great, close walking distance to many major attractions. Service was outstanding! Claudia at the front desk was particularly hospitable, helping us with our kids who kept losing keys and giving us tips. Highly recommended! read more

The lobby is fancy and smells very good. The family room is roomy and spacious. The actual is uncomfortable and a bit too firm for my taste. Bell boy was helpful and accommodating. Seems like hotel offers several amenities. Restaurant, bar, gym and spa as well as meeting rooms. Worst sleeping experience. Stay AWAY! No effort in making it better. Stating all beds are the same. read more

Meliá Princesa - The day of celebration of San Isidro, May 15. - Hotels Near Me - Madrid, M

Nice location, but standard hotel with uneven service. I stayed at the Melia for a recent conference, and had a mixed stay. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here. The hotel was clean, but the rooms are a bit worm down. In addition, service had a bit of coldness to it, and I felt a bit rushed with the speed at which servers in the restaurant cleared away half-empty plates. In addition, when I checked out, they would not give me a physical hotel bill, and told me to write down my e-mail address and they would send it to me later. I have been following up with them multiple times via both phone and e-mail over the past week since I've returned, and they have been unresponsive. This has been very frustrating and could have been avoided if they would have just printed out a hotel bill like normal. read more

A true horror and lack of humanity. My father-in-law died and we had to cancel our trip. All the hotels and restaurants obviously accepted the cancellation for a major cause like that. After three days talking to you and treating us horribly, they said that it is not their problem, that these are their policies and that they would not return the money. They are a real shame.

A gorgeous hotel in the heart of Madrid. Good service, friendly staff and great rooms. If you choose the level package it also comes with free breakfast, canapés and drinks all evening on the house. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Laundry service here is super express and I got mine done same day even though I handed it in around noon. The restaurant food here is also quite ok. We had dinner here one night and it was a nice meal. It's a reasonably priced hotel I would happily use again. read more

Stellar staff, beautiful hotel, get a Level room, get a YHI message treatment, visit the pool & enjoy everything Madrid has to offer. The Melia Princessa is conveniently located in the center of Madrid and within walking distance to just about everything. Or just a train ride away, and luckily the metro is also conveniently located around the corner, and across the street from the hotel. Or have the staff request a taxi for you. The hotel is beautiful, our room on the Level tier which are the last two floors of the hotel includes plenty of perks and pool usage. Level also includes 10% off spa treatments. Level rooms are totally worth the extra price point. Other level room perks: amazing breakfast is included with lots of buffet choices & made to order items from 7am-noon, after 12pm they switch out breakfast items & offer an outstanding tapas buffet of culinarily delight from noon-11pm. They also offer open bar the entire day, you can create your own cocktails, have a soda, lots of desserts and gourmet coffee options too. The hotel room was beyond my expectations with an amazing city view for sunrise & sunset captures. It was very spacious. The beds were made daily and plenty of little treats left for us in our room. Items were replenished daily as well as fresh towels, slippers, & robes. The staff greeted us each morning with a smile at breakfast. We had a wonderful couples message at the YHI Spa from Linda Pereira & Cristian Guaza it was excellent, they are very professional & the spa is squeaky clean and zen full. We were so relaxed after our treatment. Linda & Christian were also so courteous to extend another 20% coupon for future services. How unfortunate, we decided to have massages on our last day. If you find yourself at the Princessa request this awesome duo. I can not rave enough about the room, staff services, location, & overall excellence that the Melia brand represents. I have stay with them when I travel to Cancun & I must say the standard carries across. So stay here, get a level room, & fall in love with Spain at the Princessa. read more

This is a very nice hotel located right at Ventura Rodriguez metro stop. If you exit the metro simply look up and you will see it. You qualify for "level" ,whatever that means, I believe you get it if you pay for the breakfast price. The best news is they have a almost all day long managers happy hour at the level. You can eat breakfast and have mimosas. A buffet breakfast is also available in the dining room.In the afternoon the wine flows with tapas aplenty. About 7 o'clock they add some spirits to the bar. All included with your level. One of my big critiques is the lack of storage space in the rooms. Pretty much living out of a suitcase whether you want to or not. My wife took what drawer space there was which left me with pretty much nothing. we were spending 5 nights. Also the dining room opens at 8:30 PM. If you are level you get a 30% discount but that was so late for us to eat that we never attempted to use it. You get one bottle of water gratis no matter how many days you stay. There is a grocery nearby. If you need to do laundry there is a small laundromat nearby too. Staff is very nice and helpful. read more

We were completely disappointed with our stay. No idea how it could possibly be considered a 5 star hotel. When first walking in, it seemed promising. However, as soon as we walked into the room we felt like we were on a carnival norwegian cruise ship or a circus. The room is clearly outdated, the curtains look like they belong in a motel 6. The bathroom is somewhat better but still grungy. Moving on from the aesthetics of the room, its impossible to enjoy the amenities or ask any questions in the lobby without being faced with a snobby worker. Speaking of the pool, when we attempted to go for a swim at 5 pm on a Monday, we were stopped and told we needed a reservation. Furthermore, we were demanded to wear a swimming cap (which we had to pay 4 euros a pop for). Does anybody travel with a swimming cap on them? Its a very uncomfortable environment overall and we certainly don't look forward to going back to our hotel room at the end of the day. Only slightly positive aspect is the breakfast buffet. Its good and has a large range of food. read more

This has been an extremely stressful and disappointing experience, in particular, talking with the hotel's customer service and front desk people. While I'm writing this review right after yet another unsatisfactory email exchange with the Melia hotel's customer support person, Miguel, I'd hope this review is fair and helpful to my fellow TripAdvisor users when they book a hotel in Madrid to consider, especially if you have children. 1. We are a family of three with a 9 year old boy. We booked a room for 2 adults through my company's booking agent. Never has a hotel charged an additional fee for our son and upon checking into the hotel, no such fee was mentioned to us, in fact upon check-in they confirmed our occupancy and the rate I was originally quoted. If the rate was changed upon check-in, I would have considered other options such as shortening the stay and finding a different hotel. I did find out that I got an email response back from the hotel about the extra charge for my son but Google Gmail put it in the "Sent" folder and I didn't see it until the front desk person mentioned upon checking out. This was my mistake and it cost me dearly since I lost a chance to change the booking. However, I do think that the hotel front desk should have clearly explained this charge to me upon checking in. At this point the Melia hotel customer rep is only repeating their extra person charge policy without accompanying what I consider a reasonable accommodation. 2. If you are booking a hotel because of their beautiful swimming pool for your family, you can just forget it. Unless your child is 16 and older, they don't let you use the swimming pool. I am here for my work so my husband is watching our son during the day and it was a BIG disappointment for my son and my hubby that they couldn't swim and relax at the pool. This was NOT advertised clearly either and their hotel staff response was "Read the pool policy" on the wall. Really?! I would NOT have booked a room here if I knew about their swimming pool policy in advance. 3. The biggest issue I have is with the customer service. Instead of exploring a favorable option for their customer, the front desk and especially this customer service rep were only interested in repeating their extra person charge policy. If you're traveling with a young child, I'd like to recommend different hotels. We have stayed in Olivia Balmes hotel during one weekend, it was a fantastic experience and they did NOT charge for our son. We are currently staying in Hospes De La Mar hotel and not only did we not get charged for our son but also we received a free upgrade to a larger room and the front desk folks could not have been nicer. Rooms are much nicer at other hotels compared to Melia Madrid Princesa. One thing I did appreciate is the folks at the hotel restaurant and bar have been very nice. So that's that. read more

Absolutely beautiful. The hotel is in a perfect location near the city center, so you are right in the heart of all the hot spots. Everything is pretty much in walking distance from bus stops, shopping stores, restaurants, and more! The hotel itself was beautiful inside and out. It definitely gives that "wow" factor when walking in. We arrived later than we expected, but they still accommodated us to the best of their abilities by offering us refreshments and referring us to nearby restaurants that may still be open if we did not want to order from our 24 hour service menu. We were on the 11th floor and loved everything about our room. It was quite contemporary and provided us with a jacuzzi with an awesome view over the city. The beds were comfortable, pillows were soft, the television was of good size and also provided plugins for game consoles or laptop converters. The showers had a good amount of towels, robes, slippers, and shower kits incase you were short on amenities. One thing I liked the most was that out of 5 hotels we've stayed in while traveling Europe was that they also provided you with an ironing board and iron - in room (yes, surprisingly I found this uncommon out there). When on the "level" floors, you are provided with your own receptionist and room service attendant. The staff speaks pretty good English as well, so it is easier to find your way around if you have any questions. If you have a group of 5 or more, they also provide a shuttle bus to the airport at your request as well. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others as well as return. read more

So today is our last day at this hotel and I'm so happy! Worst service ever! I've stayed at several Melia hotels around the world and i have to say i am beyond disappointed with this one! Employees are rude and room service sucks! We paid an additional 60 euros per night to have the room upgraded and with free breakfast and that money went to a total waste! Breakfast was not free unless you went downstairs to eat - which is an inconvenience if your day and nights are screwed up! The staff here needs to be trained about hospitality - i mean they are in the hotel industry!!! Can't wait to check out and complain to the manager! Will never stay here again! Other then that Madrid was beautiful and so were the people (outside of this hotel) #fail read more
